Community Wim Hof practice
Community Wim Hof practice
It's better when we're together. Come and experience the power of the WHM with a wonderful group of people. We breathe, we go into the cold and we teach our bodies to heat up properly. We develop resilience and the mindset to use these powerful healing tools over and over again, all year round. This gathering is fully guided by Wim Hof instructor Steve Beattie. If you are new to this, come on down, enjoy the support and practice in a safe way with us. If you already have a WHM practice this meetup is a great way to take it to the next level, and make lots of new friends. There will be a fire, snacks and drinks shared by other attendees. We have been doing this 6 for years! **What to bring?** * Yoga mat * Weather-appropriate clothing (better to dress too warm!) * Bathing suite, towel * Water shoes (optional) In extreme weather being prepared is very important. Especially if it's your first time, please read up on how to come prepared [here.](https://www.breathinginnature.com/wim-hof-method-meetup/) Learn more about our Wim Hof meetups, workshops, breath classes, wilderness trips, medicine work and special events at **[Breathing in Nature](https://breathinginnature.com/)**. Avengers’ Saturday Cafe for the Homeless
Avengers’ Saturday Cafe for the Homeless
Note: You may be removed from the attendance list if you've participated in the previous week's event. This allows for more people to experience this Meetup. Avengers put your costumes on and let’s go and save the world!
Well we can’t save the world (yet), but we aim to try to play a small part in the lives of those experiencing homelessness by making their day a bit better!
Description: Before the event the organizer will post a list in the comment section of the attendees and what they are responsible to bring (food/drink, kitchen supplies, cleaning supplies). We normally ask each attending member to bring approximately $15-20 worth of ingredients/supplies to our event. We will use the items to prepare and serve food/drink at The Meeting Place.
Timeline: We will meet on location at 11:00 am, with lunch served between 12:30-1:00 pm.
Membership Dues: Membership dues are $2.00 for the calendar year. Membership dues go towards paying for food/supplies incurred by no-shows. Membership dues are due at the first meetup of the year that you attend.
No Shows/Late Un-RSVP: We’re relying on members who RSVP to bring key ingredients for recipes! Please try your best to show-up or alternatively change your RSVP early so another member may fill the empty spot.
\*\*\* If you are on the waitlist, keep checking as you may be moved into attendance to replace someone. We will try to message you to confirm your attendance in advance.
Donations will be assigned before the event.

🌿☀️ SUMMER WALK TO THE EVERGREEN BRICK WORKS & MARKET ☀️🌿 Ravine Trails, Outdoor Market & One of Toronto’s Best Skyline Lookout Spots Summer is the perfect time to explore some of Toronto’s hidden green spaces — and few places feel as unique as Evergreen Brick Works. Join us for a relaxed social walk from St. Clair down through the ravine trails toward the Brick Works, where nature, history, community, and city views all come together. Even though you’re still in Toronto, parts of this walk feel surprisingly peaceful — shaded forest paths, creeks, birds, hidden trails, and eventually the old industrial buildings of the Brick Works opening up in the middle of the valley. And in the summer? The whole place comes alive. 📲 **Join Our WhatsApp Group:**[ Click here to join](https://chat.whatsapp.com/DRFTkxRlHS4B3IL1lMleUd) *** 🚶‍♂️ What We’ll Do: We’ll begin at St. Clair Station and walk down through the ravine system toward the Brick Works together. Once there, we’ll: 🌿 Explore the outdoor market ☕ Grab drinks, snacks, or lunch 🛍️ Browse local vendors and shops 😊 Sit, relax, and socialize for a bit Afterward, we’ll continue the adventure by walking up to one of the nearby lookout spots for beautiful skyline and valley views. 📸🌆 Then we’ll slowly make our way back together. And if at any point you feel tired or want to head home early, buses run directly from the Brick Works to nearby subway stations — easy and flexible. *** 🌤️ Weather & Expectations This event happens rain or shine. Please come prepared for: ✔️ Outdoor walking trails ✔️ Some hills and stair sections ✔️ Warm summer weather ✔️ A longer walk at a relaxed pace This is more of a social nature walk than a fast-paced hike. *** 🧢 Meetup Details 📍 Meetup Location: We will meet outside St. Clair Subway Station in front of the McDonald's — look for Mathew in his iconic Moose Hat 🫎 ⏰ Meetup Time: 11:00 AM I will only wait 5 minutes. Today, the restored site has become one of the city’s most beloved urban nature spaces — combining historic industrial buildings, markets, trails, gardens, and environmental spaces all in one place. It’s one of those Toronto spots that people always seem surprised they didn’t discover sooner. *** 🌈 Who Is This For? This group is open to anyone who wants to be social and make friends — whether single or not. We also host: 🎬 Movies 🚶 Walks & hikes 🎭 Arts & culture outings 🍽️ Restaurant gatherings There’s always something happening. *** 💛 REMEMBER: You can just show up — or decide on the day if you’re not 100% sure. ⚠️ NOTE: Sometimes things happen and plans may change — please keep an eye out for updates. *** 👤 Organizer: Mathew Questions? Rooted Kingship GTA Hike - Kings in Motion
Rooted Kingship GTA Hike - Kings in Motion
**Kings in Motion — Scarborough** ***Slow down to move forward.*** Join Rooted Kingship for a brotherhood walk at **Scarborough Bluffs / Bluffer’s Park**. At Rooted Kingship, we believe no man should have to do life alone. These walks are created for men to move stress out of the body, breathe deeper, connect with other brothers, and be seen without pressure to perform. Come as you are. Walk at your pace. Speak if you feel led. Listen if that’s what you need. **Why We Walk** This is more than a hike. It’s a space for brotherhood, reflection, mental wellness, and growth. We walk to clear our minds, strengthen our bodies, and remind ourselves that healing does not always happen sitting still. Sometimes a man has to walk it out before he can talk it out. **What to Expect** **1:30–2:00 PM — Arrival + Check-In** Please arrive early so we can greet everyone, get settled, and gather as a group. **2:00–2:10 PM — Welcome + Orientation** We’ll open with a short welcome, light stretching, and a simple check-in. **2:10–2:15 PM — Safety Brief + Ground Rules** We’ll review the walking route, pace options, group expectations, and safety reminders. **2:15–3:30 PM — Brotherhood Walk** We’ll walk together at a steady, conversational pace. There will be space for casual conversation, quiet reflection, and optional partner check-ins. **3:30–3:45 PM — Closing Circle** We’ll end with a short gratitude round and a take-home reflection prompt. **Rooted Kingship Agreements** *Brotherhood:* We look out for one another. *Authenticity:* Come as you are. No pressure to perform. *Growth*: We move our bodies and our stories forward. *Respect:* Every voice matters. No judgment, shaming, or talking down. *Positivity:* Bring your truth, but bring hope with it too. **Ground Rules** *Confidentiality:* What is shared on the walk stays with the group. *Support over advice:* Ask before giving advice. *Participation is optional:* You can speak, listen, or simply walk. All are welcome. *Respect the pace:* No brother gets left behind. **What to Bring** Please bring: * Water * Light snack * Weather-ready clothing * Comfortable walking shoes * Small backpack if needed * Phone fully charged * Any personal medication you may need, such as an inhaler, glucose tabs/juice, or EpiPen **Accessibility & Pace** This will be a relaxed community walk, not a race. Some areas may include pavement, packed dirt, uneven ground, small inclines, or roots. We will move at a group-friendly pace and take short breath breaks when needed. If you are new to walking, returning to movement, or recovering from an injury, you are still welcome. **Safety & Consent** This is a peer-led community walk. By registering, you acknowledge that outdoor walks may include natural risks such as slips, weather changes, uneven ground, or wildlife. You are responsible for your own health, pace, and decisions. If you feel unwell at any point, please let one of the group leads know. **Photos** We may take group photos, but only with consent. Before any photo is shared, we will ask for a clear thumbs-up or thumbs-down. No pressure. Your presence matters more than being posted. **Weather Plan** Light rain means we still walk. If there are thunderstorms, unsafe trail conditions, or severe weather, an update will be posted and sent to RSVPs before the event. *** **Age & pets:** 18+; pets are allowed. **Questions day‑of:** Text/Call Organizer at [Join WhatsApp Group ](https://chat.whatsapp.com/IEqqsux2wd8EpOHkan2Cmx?mode=gi_t) Men Only [IG Page](https://www.instagram.com/rootedkingship?igsh=Zm44c2loNjlrOGw%3D&utm_source=qr) \- Follow **Tick check reminder (spring):** *Wear long sleeves/pants if you can, consider DEET or Icaridin repellent (follow the label), and do a tick check after the hike.*

You can e-transfer to the following email at:** **torontohistorywalks@gmail.com** The story of historic Little India is a true Toronto success story, a unique look at a neighbourhood and the people who call it home. But the story is not always a happy one. Like all other areas in Toronto, Little India started out as a purely English - Anglican area and was repeatedly changed as other immigrants opted to leave the security of the downtown core for outer areas. With the opening of the Naaz theatre in 1972, the community that became Little India started to take shape, but in Toronto the forces that developed communities were different in that part of the city sandwiched between Leslieville to the south, and Greektown to the north. With a strictly Anglo-Saxon pro-British community entrenched for over 100 years, now changing to include south Asians, the area was seen as a rather depressed area, or an area in transition, and violence was an unfortunate part of life. Racial tensions increased dramatically with the influx of south Asians. But by the 1980s and 1990s the district had found its feet, and Little India was a popular Toronto district and tourist attraction, with visitors pouring in from around the world to partake of the richness. A true cultural enclave in Toronto! A fascinating history and a fascinating community awaits! This tour has been revised a few times to add more historic information to the walk, it has been revised once again for 2026 with new landmarks and stories attached. Should be a fascinating walk! This walk is for all fitness levels. The meeting place for our walking adventure is on the southwest corner of Greenwood Avenue and Gerrard Street East! This tour has a ticket price of $15.00 per person! \*\* **Please note: Please e-transfer the Ticket amount when booking your space for this tour! Columbus Comedy Improv Meetup at Gresso's!
Columbus Comedy Improv Meetup at Gresso's!
Whether you've never done improv before, or you've done it for so long you were quoted in *Truth in Comedy*, or anywhere in between, come join us! Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**! The idea behind improvised comedy is to create entire scenes from scratch. A suggestion is taken from the audience and laughter is built on the spot. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway, Make Some Noise,* or *Wild 'n Out*; it can also be done in a longer way, to tell a complicated story, like *TJ & Dave*. Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and FREE!) weekly comedy event, brings the games for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Afterward, many members will hang out in *Gresso's* itself and get to know each other. Not only is this a lot of fun, but you get to work on thinking faster on your feet, your public speaking, plus it's an excellent way to meet new people and build relationships that will last a lifetime, and you do that while laughing your butt off! Ask yourself if you want to join the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**, and say "*Yes, And*" that you'll have a blast!
