**Saddle up, astrology followers, it’s Lunar New Year 2026 and we’re galloping into the year of the horse!** Chinese New Year, also known as Lunar New Year, Spring Festival, Tet, and Seollal, falls between late January and mid February, and this folklore extravaganza is celebrated annually in London’s West End. This year we’ll be leaving behind the year of the snake and ushering in the horse, which symbolises success and victory (about time!). The festival is also celebrated in Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia and the Philippines, as well in many diaspora communities around the globe, and the biggest celebration in the world outside of Asia is right here in London’s Chinatown. It features Europe’s largest gathering of the famous Chinese lion and dragon performers, as well as a parade, colourful floats, music, dancing and special snacks for sale. (Warm custard taiyaki, anyone?) Parade route and timing details are yet to be announced so check back here closer to the time for confirmed info!
