Shut Up & Write!® in Amager
**Co-working for writers in Amager!**
Join us for an hour of focused writing time. All writers and all experience levels are welcome and don’t worry, no one will see what you've written. This session is about getting your writing done and meeting other writers in the area.
We meet in this lovely spacious café, chilled out, usually not very busy at this time, with an on-site bakery of delicious pastries. Once everyone is here and settled, I will lead a quick introduction, and then set the timer for our quiet and focused writing session.
After the hour is up feel free to chat / take off / keep writing if you're on a roll. We often talk about our successes and challenges as writers, and it can be a great way to learn from eachother.
**A note about the format**
We don’t host critiques or readings. These events are a safe space for writers of all skill levels and genres to work on their craft, so no one will read or critique your writing.

Shut Up & Write!™ Copenhagen
Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at our Copenhagen Shut Up & Write! sessions.
Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, résumé, melody, poem, or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.
SCHEDULE:
- 15 minutes of hellos and getting settled; maybe some quick intros.
- Then, the timer starts! : writing for 1 hour.
- After the hour is up... chat / take off / keep writing, if you're on a roll.
OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens once the hour of writing is complete. Writing can be very solitary... connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.
It's best to be on time, but BEING LATE IS ALSO OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check in with us after the session. (We’ll be the ones with the small Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.
What Should I Bring?
Whatever you need to be able to write!
Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block the cafe’s overhead music or the occasional conversation by other patrons.

Succeeding with Transformation
**!IMPORTANT!!** You must sign up with your real name and mail through an external page, as Meetup does not support that.

## **Succeeding with Transformation**
**Change, fatigue, resistance - and how managing complexity helps us**
**BOOK YOUR SPOT HERE: [TicketTailor](https://www.tickettailor.com/events/pawelernestolchowik/2010630) (it's free!)**
We're inviting you to a full-day event focused on a question many organisations struggle with: **Why do so many transformations stall - even when the intent is good and sound?**
This event will explore **how to succeed with transformation** in environments shaped by uncertainty, interdependencies, and ongoing change. Rather than treating transformation as a one-off initiative, we’ll look at it through a **complexity lens** - as something that unfolds over time, affects people differently, and rarely follows a linear *path*.
Throughout the day, we will explore topics such as:
* change fatigue and why “just one more initiative” often backfires
* resistance to change - not as a problem to remove, but as a signal to understand
* the limits of traditional change management approaches
* what complexity thinking adds to strategy, transformation, and leadership
* practical perspectives that help leaders navigate change more sustainably
While individual sessions may differ in focus, all contributions will connect to a shared theme: **what helps transformation succeed in complex, adaptive systems**.
This is a **save-the-date / early invitation**.
More details about speakers, agenda, and format will follow.
If you work with strategy, transformation, or large-scale change - and are curious about approaches that go beyond simple playbooks - we invite you to **book your time and join the conversation**.
🎤 Follow us on LinkedIn, we’ll be announcing more speakers soon, links to our profiles are below
See you there!

Coffee Talk
Fulfillment. Joy. – Do you know what it is? Do you feel it now?
Many of us are living lives that have “just sort of happened”. We had a dream, a vision (maybe we still do) for what we wanted our lives to look like. Somewhere along the way, life took over and something else ended up happening. We made decisions, took a turn down a path, and now our life isn’t what we thought it would be.
Or we’re living someone else’s life. Maybe it’s what our parent’s wanted for us. What we believe our partner or a potential partner might want. Or maybe it’s what we believe we need to do and have to be happy. I was one of these people. My life checked all the boxes for what I thought I needed in order to be happy. And still, I wasn’t.
Join me for a coffee talk on what it means to live a Life By Design. Where your choices are deliberate and based on your authentic, true self. What you have to let go off to achieve this (hint: the notion that vulnerability is a weakness and feelings of fear and guilt) and who you will become in the process.

Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston
Thanks to everyone who came out on Saturday for Jane Austen’s *P*e*rsuasion.* We were quite a large crowd, but managed still to have a meaningful exchange. Thanks to Xinxin for suggesting the book.
The next book to read, by popular demand, is American novelist [Zora Neale Hurston](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zora_Neale_Hurston)’s novel *[Their Eyes Were Watching God](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/37415.Their_Eyes_Were_Watching_God?ac=1&from_search=true&qid=UYWpFV2l9H&rank=1)* from 1937.
Set in Florida in the early 20th century, the novel is a coming-of-age story that follows a young girl, Janie Crawford, on her journey of searching for herself, her own voice and independence.
A review of the book reads:
*Out of print for almost thirty years - due largely to initial audiences’ rejection of its strong black female protagonist - Hurston’s classic has since its 1978 reissue become perhaps the most widely read and highly acclaimed novel in the canon of African-American literature.*
You can read the book [here](https://books.apple.com/dk/book/their-eyes-were-watching-god/id1570302263?l=da). It is, of course, also available as an [audiobook](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL79XEuIN26cIyEzvKcVc676mx1vMaQEdo&si=4JfJa9mW0nzSr1l1). You can also watch it, so to speak, as there’s a TV movie version from 2005 featuring Halle Berry [available as well](https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x9ck3tc).
For other resources on how to get a hold of classic books, please see the *About us* section on the front page of the group [here](https://www.meetup.com/copenhagen-classic-book-book-club/?eventOrigin=home_groups_you_organize).
We meet up on Saturday, March 21st, at 4 p.m. The location will, once again, be the Fireplace Lounge at 25hours Hotel in Pilestræde 65.
I think we really found the perfect future place for the book club at the Fireplace Lounge. If you want to read more about 25hours Hotels and their hospitality towards culture and community, you can do so [here](https://25hours-hotels.com/about-us/). There is a 10% discount on drinks on the bar, just mention the discount to the staff.
Also, please remember to bring your suggestion for the next classic book to read.
And, please, as always, be mindful and respectful of each other, so that everyone feels respected and appreciated.
In the meantime, happy reading/listening/watching or however you do it.

Please join us on the mate at the Church Ship Thursday afternoon the 19th of February, the 19th of march and the 16th of April at 4.30-5.45 pm.
Doors open at 4 o’clock with room for the first 30 participants.
Sound Healer is Yulianna Sandar-August, pastor Ida Fonsbøl is your host.
Free entrance.
P.s. Bring your own night mask, yoga mat and blanket. If you dont have any, we have some you can borrow.
UXDX Community Copenhagen: When Interfaces Talk, When They Don’t
**Important:**
* Please sign up on the following website to complete your sign up: https://uxdx.com/community/community-copenhagen-2026-03-18/
An in-person series of meetups focused on helping product & engineering teams in Copenhagen bridge the gap between UX, Product, Design, and Dev, and to build better products faster, together.
**Agenda:**
**16:45 – 17:00 Registration & Networking**
**17:00 – 17:10 Welcome, intro to UXDX and Ambassador - Tasha**
**17:10 – 17:25 Host Introduction - Kristoffer (Famly) + Q&A on Famly**
**17:25 – 17:50 Talk 1 (Stefani Vujic) + Q&A**
**17:50 – 18:20 Pizza & Networking**
**18:30 – 18:55 Talk 2 (Mareike Bonitz) + Q&A**
**18:55 - 19:15 Closing & Networking**
## **✨ Talks**
**Talk by** **Stefani Vujic - The fall and rise of conversational content design.**
These days, everyone wants to be conversational. E-commerce, medtech, fintech, all the techs. If you’re a corporate brand, it seems like you’ll do anything to not sound like it. Instead, a trend to “level with our customers” and “speak our users’ language” appears to dominate.
In this talk, we'll examine why one of UX writing's favourite frenemies is so devilishly difficult to execute well. Spoiler: Real conversations are spontaneous, situational and physical – basically everything computers are not. So when should interfaces chat, when should they shut up and how do we tell the difference?
**Talk by Mareike Bonitz - How to make your whole organization understand and support Product work**
In this talk, the audience will receive concrete examples of bringing Product principles closer to other teams. How can we make the whole company be more data-driven, validate their hypotheses before executing, understand the why, work more cross-functionally? The talk should inspire and give a hands on toolbox for bringing more Product sense to everyone.
## **About UXDX**
UXDX helps teams shift from project based delivery to empowered, autonomous product teams. We host global conferences and over 150 free community events each year, bringing together UX, Product, Design and Development practitioners to share how real teams build better products faster.

Speak Easy (Storytelling)
The topic for March is "Our Bodies, Ourselves"
Speak Easy: true stories, told live.
The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast.
Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect.
The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome. Hang around after the show for a drink and build community!
Omnipresent Atheists Weekly Meetup (3rd Tues)
Jimmy V's Grill & Pub in Grandview Heights. We meet in the bar in the room on the right (the cigar shop). You are responsible for your own meal/drinks. We usually don't have any agenda other than eat, drink and talk. :) If the weather is nice we will be on the back patio, otherwise we are in the cigar room.
This group has been meeting every Tuesday evening for over a decade. Many attendees do not RSVP on meetup. Please don't let the small number here discourage you. Anyone/everyone is welcome to come. We'd love to have you join us.
COTA bus #5 comes to W. 5th and Wyandotte Rd. And it's a minute walk to the restaurant.
***
Did you know that there are atheists everywhere?!?! You may not know it, but we are! We're in your schools, diners, police force, military, government, and some are even still in your churches! So come and join us and meet other local atheists, along with agnostics, heathens, humanists, skeptics, and anyone else who's 'hell bound'!
Vision: a Central Ohio that accepts atheism as a viable alternative in all areas of public and private life.
Mission: grow, support, and provide community for atheists in Central Ohio.
Social meetings held most Tuesdays at a local pub/restaurant at 7:00 PM (and often into the wee hours). Attendees call themselves agnostics, skeptics, humanists, non-theists, deists or even theists. All attendees are welcome but should support our vision.
Atheists of Columbus (AoC) is part of Omnipresent Atheists (OA). AoC members are invited to join this OA meetup and/or OA Facebook group ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/omnipresentatheists/ ) but are free to continue conversations on the AoC Facebook group ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/columbusatheists/ ). AoC was founded in 2012 as a networking, social group for Central Ohio area humanists, skeptics, atheists, agnostics, nonbelievers, freethinkers, and the curious. It was a member of Columbus CoR and held weekly meetings, mostly on Fridays, for several years but then operated as an online only group for some time. In November 2018, Omnipresent Atheists (OA), a group that routinely meets on Tuesdays, invited AoC to merge.
Omnipresent Atheists is a member of the Columbus Coalition of Reason (ColumbusCoR.org). Omnipresent Atheists is a member of the Columbus Coalition of Reason ( http://www.ColumbusCoR.org ). Omnipresent Atheists endorses the mission of the Secular Coalition for America ( http://secular.org ).
