This will be our kick-off meeting. Mostly, this is to get to know one another, and to figure out what everyone is looking for with the group and meetings. Newcomers to Linux and Free Software are always welcome, so please feel free to spread the word! Note, the room I was hoping to use in Wheaton is in extremely high demand, so this will be at the Silver Spring Library (Brigadier General Charles E. McGee Library), in Small Room 2. Tell people what you're going to do 2. Actually do stuff 3. Show people what you did **What to bring**: Laptop, Charger, maybe a power strip if you have one handy, any other game development tools you need. Try to download any software you need before the working session. There is Wifi at this location, but it may be slow if you have to download any large files.

We'll be advertising our club at the Captial Pride Festival again. Let everyone know what a great time they can have sailing with us! Volunteers can staff the table for just an hour or two, then cruise the rest of the festival. We can also use some help setting up the table and banners around 11:30 and packing up at around 4-4:30. We'll check out 29th Parallel Coffee in Fairfax Station. We plan to grab a coffee and head to Burke Lake Park and walk around the lake (weather permitting). Whether you've never done improv before, or you've done it for so long you were quoted in *Truth in Comedy*, or anywhere in between, come join us! Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**! The idea behind improvised comedy is to create entire scenes from scratch. A suggestion is taken from the audience and laughter is built on the spot. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway, Make Some Noise,* or *Wild 'n Out*; it can also be done in a longer way, to tell a complicated story, like *TJ & Dave*. Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and FREE!) weekly comedy event, brings the games for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Afterward, many members will hang out in *Gresso's* itself and get to know each other. Not only is this a lot of fun, but you get to work on thinking faster on your feet, your public speaking, plus it's an excellent way to meet new people and build relationships that will last a lifetime, and you do that while laughing your butt off! Extensions allow developers to customize the editor with new features, integrations, and workflow improvements tailored to their needs. In this session, we’ll cover what extensions are and the different types available, including full extensions written in TypeScript or JavaScript, along with lighter-weight extensions such as color themes, language packs, language support, code snippets, and keymaps. We’ll also look at practical reasons a developer might create an extension, from automating repetitive tasks to adding custom tooling. The session includes a hands-on walkthrough of creating a new extension, testing it locally, and understanding the basic project structure.
