You are welcome to bring your own blanket & cushion. - The venue has skylights that will be opened to allow more airflow in the space. A truly spectacular 9 mile walk that takes in the deer of Knowle Park and delightful Ighthman Mote. We shall buy group return train tickets at 9.45am for the train at 10.13am that arrives at Sevenoaks at 10.37am. Train ticket : Return to Sevenoaks Or you may decide to drive. Walk starts at 10.45am. Please bring packed lunch, water, snacks etc, waterproof jacket and walking shoes or trainers. You should have adequate insurance for this type of activity and be able to walk 2.5 miles per hour. Come along to Michelle's house in Bromley Common area for a guitar Club. Playing easy tunes, or whatever level is appropriate to the experience of those attending. Plus perhaps a bit of singing. Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor.
