Mob Programming at Mofer Coffee
Let’s do some coding together at a cafe! No more working alone in the weekend. Here, we write code together. And I mean together together. Not occupying-the-same-space-but-separate together.
Here’s how it works: Jennifer brings her mobile app project, tells everyone that it is like Pinterest for recipes and she’d like to work on the nav bar. Paul and Chloe think Jennifer's project is fascinating, and they join the group. They gather around Jennifer’s laptop and work on the nav bar for 2 hours. Jennifer is the one typing out the code while Paul and Chloe research, brainstorm, and offer suggestions.
If you’re feeling stuck on your own project or need a motivation boost, bring it to mob programming!
Want to learn by watching how others code and solve problems? Join someone else’s project at this event!
Oh and we love your half-done projects that you are a bit embarrassed to share. Absolutely bring those to the event!
**Discord**:
We use Discord to share screen & code snippets during the event. Also feel free to share your projects here before the event!
https://discord.gg/xwjDdVSw3E
**Event policy**:
* We have 0 tolerance for harassment.
* We don’t allow the projects that are not meant to be shared in public such as school assignments, interview tasks, or trade secrets.
* The goal is to write code. We discourage you from pitching business ideas here, doing code reviews, or spending the whole event on planning what to do.
* Please buy a drink, and tip the barista well.

I've heard it so many times, with so many people, the common refrain, "I got lost in the PATH." If you are one of the many who have simply vanished in Toronto's underground never to be seen again, check out this popular historical walking tour.
This tour demystifies the PATH system and explains how it works in grand detail. It takes walkers through the system and points out the crucial connectors and branches within the system to effortlessly guide the lost through the maze. Once experienced the PATH will be an invaluable aid to navigating the downtown, in both summer and winter, rain or shine, hurricane or drought. You might even enjoy getting lost in the underground, lost but not forgotten.
This is the full PATH course curriculum:
Part 1: The History of THE PATH
Part2: Connectors and signboards
Part 3: Understanding the above ground connection
Part 4: Hidden paths to get one around quickly
Part 5: The Blind Spots and how to work with them
Part 6: The Maps
Part 7: Getting from here to there!

🌿☀️ SUMMER WALK TO THE EVERGREEN BRICK WORKS & MARKET ☀️🌿
🌿☀️ SUMMER WALK TO THE EVERGREEN BRICK WORKS & MARKET ☀️🌿
Ravine Trails, Outdoor Market & One of Toronto’s Best Skyline Lookout Spots
Summer is the perfect time to explore some of Toronto’s hidden green spaces — and few places feel as unique as Evergreen Brick Works.
Join us for a relaxed social walk from St. Clair down through the ravine trails toward the Brick Works, where nature, history, community, and city views all come together.
Even though you’re still in Toronto, parts of this walk feel surprisingly peaceful — shaded forest paths, creeks, birds, hidden trails, and eventually the old industrial buildings of the Brick Works opening up in the middle of the valley.
And in the summer? The whole place comes alive.

🚶♂️ What We’ll Do:
We’ll begin at St. Clair Station and walk down through the ravine system toward the Brick Works together.
Once there, we’ll:
🌿 Explore the outdoor market
☕ Grab drinks, snacks, or lunch
🛍️ Browse local vendors and shops
😊 Sit, relax, and socialize for a bit
Afterward, we’ll continue the adventure by walking up to one of the nearby lookout spots for beautiful skyline and valley views. 📸🌆
Then we’ll slowly make our way back together.
And if at any point you feel tired or want to head home early, buses run directly from the Brick Works to nearby subway stations — easy and flexible.

🌿 More About the Brick Works
From 1889 to the 1980s, the Don Valley Brick Works was one of Canada’s most important brick manufacturing sites, helping build much of Toronto itself.
Today, the restored site has become one of the city’s most beloved urban nature spaces — combining historic industrial buildings, markets, trails, gardens, and environmental spaces all in one place.
It’s one of those Toronto spots that people always seem surprised they didn’t discover sooner.

Jersey City Book Club: Circe
**🦋 Neighbourhood Read: Circe by Madeline Miller • Relaxed and Inclusive**
We're meeting up to open up a conversation around Circe, our selection by Madeline Miller in a friendly low-key environment, and there is always more to discover in a good book together.
No requirement to finish — come wherever you are in the book, and note any characters or moments you want to unpack, and bring your reading experience — since there is no wrong reading and every response is worth hearing.
The evening is shaped by who is in the room — with the conversation moving where it naturally wants to go, and the most interesting moments never come from the planned questions.
Every session is a good first session — and regular members are consistently enthusiastic about welcoming new readers, the only requirement is showing up ready to talk, and first-timers rarely feel like first-timers for long.
⭐ *"The group is warm and the conversation is always great — the discussion always produces at least one reading I had not considered"* – new to the group
---
💬 A great discussion changes how you see a great book — sign up and bring your reading experience however partial and the rest sorts itself out in the room. The group grows every time someone new joins. 💬
Yonkers Book Club: Circe
**💡 Reading Meetup: Circe by Madeline Miller • Casual and Friendly**
The book club is meeting to open up a conversation around the thought-provoking Circe by Madeline Miller with a friendly group who enjoy good conversation, and everyone leaves with something new to think about.
The format is relaxed and member-led — with all opinions treated as equally valid, and the energy in the room tends to build as the evening goes on.
Come however far through the book you are, and note any characters or moments you want to unpack, and bring your reading notes — because the book looks completely different through a new set of eyes.
You do not need to have been before — and no introduction is required beyond showing up, your presence is the only requirement, and the relaxed setting means there is no pressure on you.
---
**The session at a glance:**
- Introductions are short and the book takes over within the first few minutes
- Discussion opens with an initial question and flows from there without a set agenda
- At some point toward the end the group votes on or suggests next month's read
💡 **Before the session:** mark the page you most want to talk about, because having one concrete thing to say takes the pressure off everything else, and the rest of the conversation will take care of itself.
---
☕ A good discussion is worth fifty pages of rereading — come along and join a conversation worth having and the discussion takes it from there. See you at the table. ☕

Riverside Trails, Hidden Gardens & A Relaxed Long Weekend Walk
Join us for a peaceful social walk along the beautiful Humber River as we enjoy the final stretch of the long weekend together.
This route combines riverside trails, greenery, and one of Toronto’s most underrated hidden gems: James Gardens.
James Gardens is one of those places that quietly surprises people — flower beds, stone pathways, little bridges, mature trees, and spaces that feel far away from the city even though you’re still in Toronto.
This is not a fast-paced hike.
It’s a relaxed social walk with time to chat, enjoy the scenery, and slow down a little.

Newark Book Club: Circe
**✨ Reading Circle: Circe by Madeline Miller**
Drop in as we gather to open up a conversation around Circe (Madeline Miller) in a discussion-first setting where the book drives the conversation, and the format keeps things moving naturally.
Whether you read one chapter or the whole thing, and bring your reactions however raw they are, and bring your analysis — since genuine impressions beat polished opinions every time.
New members are always welcome — and the discussion moves fast enough that settling in happens naturally, just turn up — the rest takes care of itself, and most people leave wanting to book into the next one.
No facilitator or moderator runs the table — with every reader given room to share what mattered to them, and the session almost always goes in a direction no one predicted.
---
**Helpful to bring:**
- Any notes or passages you flagged while reading
- An open mind and a willingness to debate
- The book — whatever format works for you
---
🌿 A great discussion changes how you see a great book — sign up and bring your reading experience however partial and the conversation is always worth showing up for. We will see you on the night. 🌿
New York City Book Club: Circe
**🍵 Book Discussion Group: Circe by Madeline Miller · Just Bring Yourself**
This meetup brings the group together to read from and discuss Madeline Miller's Circe in a casual and welcoming atmosphere, and a good chat is guaranteed.
Discussion flows wherever the group takes it — with the conversation often surprising even long-time members, and the format rewards curiosity over expertise.
No requirement to finish — come wherever you are in the book, and hold onto your strongest reaction to the text, and bring your reading notes — since every perspective adds something the group would not have without you.
You do not need to have been before — and the group tends to make first-timers feel at ease very quickly, nothing beyond the book and your thoughts is needed, and the discussion gets richer with every new reader who joins.
---
🌟 Every book grows when you bring it into a room full of readers — RSVP and come ready to talk and the conversation is always worth showing up for. The evening is better when you are in it. 🌟
