Kayaking Essentials at Cheung Chau
This is an introductory session for people who are complete beginners or fairly new to kayaking. We will begin with learning the essential kayak parts and equipment. We will also learn and practice simple strokes, how to enter and exit the kayak and how to cope with a capsize or emergency. It will be a full and busy day and you will get wet! Please do not sign up unless you commit to being there. We can not run the training session when people drop out with short notice. Our 48 hour rule does apply. Please arrive with HKD 300 in cash as payment for the hire of equipment used in this training session. Please also bring the following - - Sturdy closed-toed shoes that can get wet that will be worn at all times throughout the training session (Crocs DO NOT qualify. Old sneakers/trainers are OK. NO flip flops). - A packed lunch - A refillable water bottle (there is clean, drinkable tap water at the kayak base). We strongly discourage the use of packaged water in disposable bottles (I.e. Bonaqua, Evian, etc) - Swimwear, hat, sunglasses and sun protection (long sleeve rash guard or UV resistant shirt highly recommended). - Optional: change of clothes & towel for post-session shower. Following training and practice sessions of all of the above, a short paddle trip MAY be possible to apply all that has been learned. Following the completion of this session, you may participate in 'Beginner' rated paddle trips that SK&F may offer. New members with previous paddling experience will be assessed during this session to determine on a case-by-case basis what level paddling trip they will be eligible for.
Cheung Chau to Mui Wo Day trip
This is a new trip we are eager to try out! We will meet in the morning at the windsurfing center on Cheung Chau. Once we are on the water we will navigate around the island before crossing the channel between Cheung Chau and Lantau. Once crossed we will meander around the coast line in the direction of Mui Wo. Once there we will stop off for lunch for an hour or so. This will give everyone time to have a look around the town, give you a chance to have lunch in one of the local restaurants or have a packed lunch on the beautiful beach! After the lunch break we will get back on the water and begin to make our way back to Cheung Chau. This trip will be pretty full on and will require a decent level of stamina, so bear this in mind when signing up. As usual it is recommended to being a change of dry clothes, clothes to get wet in, shoes to get wet, a towel, sunscreen, hat, water bottle and I would suggest snacks as it will be a long day! If you have any questions please feel free to drop me a message. My WhatsApp number is +85255983489. 300hkd equipment rental fee, please bring exact cash on the day Looking forward to seeing you on the water!
Windsurfing Class for *BEGINNERS* 🌊 + 🍹After-Session Drinks 🍻
Hey everyone - I'm organizing windsurfing Class in Stanley and I'm as new to windsurfing as you might be. I figured it would be way more fun to learn together, so I'm putting this group together to try it out, laugh through the wipeouts, and celebrate the small wins over a beer or cocktail afterward.
**What to expect**:
This is the first event so it will be dedicated to very beginners with some theory on the beach. In this case, session will last 2 hours.
A friendly, no-pressure session aimed at complete beginners. We'll have an instructor to walk us through the basics. After the class we'll head to a nearby bar to chill, compare notes, and enjoy some drinks for those who are interested.
**Price**: 350 HKD per person per hour including equipment rental. After the class, people are free to rent equipment only, directly to the dealer. Can pay cash or FPS to me on the event day.
After session drinks are not included in the price.
**What to bring**:
Bring swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, water, and whatever positive energy you've got. Wear something that can get wet and won't chafe.
**Note:**
Regarding weather conditions, session is maintained as long as the instructor says so.
*Participants should be age 6 or up, able to swim with clothes for at least 50 metres proficient in swimming, and do not suffer from any illness that renders the participants unfit for the above-mentioned activity.
Feel free to reach me if you have any questions. Looking forward to see you soon!
Easy Hike and Swim in Trio Bay, Sai Kung
It’s an enjoyable hike mixed with swimming, or free-of-charge sunbathing. A basic 5k+ hike from Sai Kung town to Trio Beach. Let’s decide that day if visit White Horse Point. Let’s have dinner afterwards.
Trio Beach is renowned for it its seclusion, located on Pak Sha Wan Peninsula. I really like the beach is “hidden from the plain sight” and contains “soft sand, clean water”.
Non-swimmers can rest on benches covered by shade broad roof or simply rent a beach umbrella (about $100).There is a snack store for simple food and drink at the beach, pay cash.
We’ll take boat back to Sai Kung town by 5pm to Hebe Haven Pier (白沙灣碼頭).**Cash only** for one-way boat ticket ($15-$20). Please prepare enough cash for payment of your own snacks or meals.
