This is a regular Bring-Your-Own-Book session, where participants share and present to the group non-fiction books they have read. New members may sit in to hear and discuss others' presentations. Usually a meeting takes around 2.5-3 hours. During this time we discuss 2 different books, roughly 1 hour per book. Any non-fiction material: a book, documentary, or lecture or a part of it - anything with a title and an author and that contains some coherent ideas. Each presentation includes a summary (15-40 min) and discussion (accordingly). The meeting will be either in a park or in a coffee shop, on HK side. The exact place to be confirmed with the attendees **by WhatsApp only**. I will / have sent the link to the WhatsApp group, please use the link. Introvert friendly. We have people from different countries, so while books can be in any language, the language of the meeting is English. There is a fee of 20 HKD for the first timers to help funding the Meetup membership needed to run the group. Do not hit "Attend" if you are not going to attend. If you RSVPed, but there is anything preventing you from going to the meeting, remember to tell the host and/or update the RSVP as soon as possible. Hi there everybody! We invite you all to come enjoy Peng Chau island and our next movie night on 25th of January. This time we will watch our first Brazilian movie. The country is Brazil and the movie is called 'Bacurau' (2019) from directors Kleber Mendonça Filhos and Juliano Dornelles: Bacurau, a small town in the Brazilian sertão, mourns the loss of its matriarch, Carmelita, who lived to be 94. Days later, its inhabitants notice that their community has vanished from most maps. The movie will have English subtitles. If you want to watch a Brazilian movie for the first time come and enjoy! We will start the movie at 7pm till 9pm in a terrace in Peng Chau. There is a ferry at 5:50pm from Central Pier N6 and arrives in Peng Chau at 6:30pm. My place is very close to the pier.
