New Years Eve Bowling Bash w/ Central Ohio Friends!
New Years Eve Bowling Bash w/ Central Ohio Friends!
If you’ve never been out with us, or it’s been a while… this is the event to jump in. Most people come solo and leave with new friends. Bowling on New Year’s Eve is **nearly impossible to book** — and we locked down 8 lanes. That alone makes this a rare one. we are definitely not a pro bowlers (**I’m actually pretty bad** 😅), but bowling is way better when pizza and beer are involved 🍕🍺 This event is posted on meetup with Central Ohio Friends **Please RSVP with ONE group only** 🎳 • $15 per person • 2 hours of unlimited bowling • Up to 6 people per lane • **Bring $15 exact cash** (helps us move fast) ⏰ THE PLAN 🕢 **7:45 PM** – Show up, grab a drink, and settle in 🕘 **9:00 PM – Bowling starts** 🕚 **11:00 PM** – Head to Level One Bar & Arcade / **The Derby (Worthington)** to **watch the ball drop** and finish the night 🎉 Please **arrive early (around 8:00 PM)** so we can get checked in and start on time. If you’re new, nervous, or haven’t been out with us before — you won’t be the only one. If you need help finding the group or have questions, feel free to reach out. 📍 LOCATION Sequoia Pro Bowl 5501 Sandalwood Blvd Columbus, OH 43229 ⚠️ GPS heads-up: The entrance can be tricky. Look for the large parking lot near the volleyball courts — that’s the closest entrance. 🍻 PLEASE DRINK RESPONSIBLY 👉 RSVP now and don’t miss one of our most fun nights of the year.

Contra dance with Big Scioty on Jan 3 - First Congregational Church
Contra dance with Big Scioty on Jan 3 - First Congregational Church
**Caller: Gaye Fifer** **Band: Hot Coffee Breakdown** **Big Scioty Contra Dance** **temporarily returning to our long ago location for Jan-March - First Congregational Church, 444 E. Broad St., Columbus 43215** WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor. Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner. Cost is $10.00 adults, $5.00 ages 12-26. Under 12 free. Free parking in church lot. For more information contact me or check out our website: [www.bigscioty.com](http://www.bigscioty.com/) Please bring your own refillable water bottle. Snacks to share are always welcome!

⚠️ **IMPORTANT: You must sign up and buy a ticket here to attend:** [https://groupvibe.com/](https://groupvibe.com/) **Join the Columbus City Brunch Club and make new friends!** Each meetup brings together 4–6 people for casual conversations over brunch. We use the Groupvibe platform to facilitate the meetup and ensure everyone’s a good fit. 👉 **To attend, you’ll need to complete registration via this link:** [https://groupvibe.com/](https://groupvibe.com/) We’ll share the exact location of the upcoming meetup the night before only if you have bought a ticket or membership plan. **Why this works:** \* Smaller groups make real conversations easier. \* Discover new restaurants in your city, together. \* Curated lunch venues with good food and vibe. \* If you hit it off with your group, there’s plenty of time to hang out afterwards. **Note:** RSVPs on Meetup don’t reflect total attendance. Many attendees register directly via our website. The event on [Meetup.com](http://meetup.com/) is only a placeholder. ######## NEW LOCATION ####### We are going to be at The Forge on Bethel Rd this week and until further notice! The Forge does have a full bar and kitchen. There is no cover charge but they do request all attendees to purchase a minimum of ~$20 per person. Soft drink refills are $1 each. Please support our hosts so we can continue to provide great events for the group! The Forge has a large library of games available for us to enjoy. Hosts and regulars will also provide numerous popular games but please bring any games you would like to teach and/or play. Doors open at 6, and we expect gaming to be rolling by around 630. Please promptly end your games and clear out the space at 10pm when the bar closes. We encourage socializing but do not permit disruptive behavior of any kind. Thank you for your continued commitment to providing a fun and welcoming space to veteran, newbie, and rookie gamers in the Columbus area! Parking can be challenging. There is a parking lot behind the building that is free and easy to walk from but it's a bit hidden.

Board Games at Easton
Board Games at Easton
Join us at Easton Town Center for a casual evening of board gaming. Play from our library or bring one of your favorites to share. We usually bring along Catan, Ticket to Ride, Cascadia, etc... We'll be set up at the Donatos Pizza Party Room. It was free for us to reserve, but you may want to buy a drink or go in on a pizza. Why Easton? Although there aren't any board game stores / cafes here, it's a nice area. More importantly, this event coincides with LifeTime Fitness Parent's Night Out, so our kid will get babysat. If you happen to be a member of Lifetime you too can get free babysitting and play some games.
