This is an event for ages 16 and up. Children are not allowed to participate. We cannot guarantee age-appropriate scenes and exercises.
We meet at Donauinsel Coordinates:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/FVhWPCS2ttP4EQ4Q8
We advise you to join the WA-Group because we maybe move to a different meadow. And the exact coordinates where we are will be posted there.
**Stop overthinking and start playing!** đż This session is a soft, safe space to practice being present and letting go of perfectionism. Please note: The main part of this session will be held in **German**.
**Outdoor Vitality:** Training by the water is pure mindfulness. Nature helps calm your nervous system and instantly stops overthinking. Fresh air, open space, and improvâthe perfect combo to clear your mind and boost your well-being.
The event is free. We welcome donations.
**Komm vorbei, lass den Planungsmodus hinter dir und entdecke die Freude am Moment. Wir freuen uns auf dich! đ**

"Grow your own vegetables" Summer Edition
The summer edition is the second workshop in the "Grow your own Vegetables" workshop series.
As always, our "vegetable whisperer" Kim will provide hands-on guidance as we work together. Youâll learn how to properly transplant young plants, determine the ideal spacing, and understand why this is so vital for plant health. We will also cover the differences between greenhouse and outdoor cultivation, which crops are better off being transplanted versus sown directly, and the conditions needed for plants to grow into strong, fruit-bearing specimens. Additionally, weâll dive into the topic of mulching and demonstrate how this method protects the soil and improves water retention.

What Science Knows About Needs
We all have psychological needs that shape how we feel, think, and behave. Science shows that things like feeling safe, connected to others, valued, and having meaning in life are essential for mental health.
Different theoriesâfrom Freud to modern research by Edward L. Deci and Richard M. Ryanâdescribe these needs in different ways, but they largely agree on one thing: when our needs are met, we function well; when they are not, we struggle.
In this short talk, weâll look at what science actually knows about psychological needsâsimply and without jargon.

Open Dialogue â Discovering Together in Vienna
We will meet in a calm and friendly place ( Parc, CafĂ©, Restaurant) to explore together some of Jiddu Krishnamurtiâs key questions about awareness, relationship, and freedom.
There will be no teaching, no authority â only open dialogue and attentive listening.
Everyone is welcome, whether you are familiar with Jiddu Krishnamurti or simply curious about life and self-understanding.
Weâll start with an open conversation around a theme such as âListening without judgmentâ or âCan thought bring clarity?â
Please bring openness, curiosity, and a readiness to listen â no books or notes needed.
The spirit is not to discuss âwhat should be,â but to observe together âwhat is.â
Shut Up & Write!Ÿ - Sundays at Café Pierre
Come write with us at Cafe Pierre every Sunday at 18:00-20:00!
A message from Shut Up & Write: "Shut Up & Write hosts free, in-person and online writing events for writers all over the world. Our goal is to ensure that every writerâregardless of genre or skill levelâhas access to the resources, community, and accountability that they need to be successful in their personal writing goals."
And what this looks like at our event: We chat and give short introductions to what we are working on at 18:00, then start writing at 18:15. Though we try to start on dot, being late isn't a problemâjust find a spot and get to work! We write until 20:00 and then discuss how our writing went. From fiction to non-fiction, academic papers to poetry, applications to work-related writingâanything goes! Nothing is needed except for you to bring whatever is need to get stuff done, i.e. laptop, headphones, pen and paper, and so on.
Optional socialising may happen before 18:00 and after 20:00, or you may choose to use this time to get some more done! Please do order something from the café (drink, meal, dessert, etc.) so as to keep us in their good graces!

Sunday Badminton Event (11.00h-13.00h) Raketworld U3 KendlerstraĂe
This is our weekly event!
Hey Badminton Enthusiasts!
This meet-up is for all levels: beginners, intermediates and experts. Everyone is welcome to join, test their skills and have some fun together!
The host will reserve courts in advance, that means please only register if you really plan to come (or cancel at least 24 hours before the event starts). The fee for this event is 12⏠(for the 2 hours). If you plan on paying in cash, please bring the exact amount as the host might not have any change available.
We are meeting at about 10:55 am near the reception by the lounge area (next to the courts). Come a bit earlier so you have time to change into workout/sports clothes. The locker rooms are free to use, but for the men lockers you need a padlock - or you can also take your bag of clothes upstairs to the courts if you do not have a padlock. Also, bring clean indoor sports shoes, your racket and a water bottle with you.
There is a drinking fountain available if you need to replenish your bottle.
If you do not have a racket, it is possible to rent rackets from the club, if necessary (3âŹ). Sometimes the host or other members have spare rackets - please ask in the comment section below!
If you are joining our events for the first time, WELCOME! Let the host know that you are new and they will find a place for you. Don't worry, we are an open and friendly group. We are sure you will develop connections with the people in our community in no time!
Without further ado - let's play some badminton and have fun together!
The Weight of Things by Marianne Fritz
*The Weight of Things* is the first book, and the first translated book, and possibly the only translatable book by Austrian writer Marianne Fritz (1948â2007). For after winning acclaim with this novelâawarded the Robert Walser Prize in 1978âshe embarked on a 10,000-page literary project called âThe Fortress,â creating over her lifetime elaborate colorful diagrams and typescripts so complicated that her publisher had to print them straight from her original documents. A project as brilliant as it is ambitious and as bizarre as it is brilliant, it earned her cult status, comparisons to James Joyce no less than Henry Darger, and admirers including Elfriede Jelinek and W. G. Sebald.
Yet in this, her first novel, we discover not an eccentric fluke of literary nature but rather a brilliant and masterful satirist, philosophically minded yet raging with anger and wit, who under the guise of a domestic horror story manages to expose the hypocrisy and deep abiding cruelties running parallel, over time, through the society and the individual minds of a century.

Free In-person Meeting: Unwanted Emotions & Loneliness, How to Get Over Them
This is an in-person meeting.
Did you know that unwanted emotions like loneliness, sadness, hopelessness, anger, fear, anxiety, or feelings of irritation donât just fall on you for no reason. They are not random occurrences that simply happen to people's minds. They are definitely not chemical imbalance in your brain due to some nebulous chemical reactions by chance.
Your negative emotions are the symptoms of the painful experiences that you have which are not healed, and which are still affecting you.
The effects of these painful experiences are exacerbated by the pressures or difficulties of the other problems in your life.
For instance, let's say you are already carrying a huge load on your back, then you cannot take on much more, but, let's say something else happens to you, such as the difficulties from the Pandemic, then the resultant combined weight on you can take you over the edge, kind of like the straw that break the camel's back. When this happens, people's attention usually goes to the straw that was added, but actually the majority of the weight had come from the huge load that were already there, holding a person down and causing a person issues.
So how do you remove the huge load that was already there? How do you lighten them up? Is it possible to get rid of them?
That is what this meeting will be all about.
Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life.
Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to this local event. We look forward to seeing you there.

CMG Gives Back: Serve Brunch at FAITH MISSION GRANT KITCHEN!
Join us as we get together to get together to help those in need at this CMG Gives Back event! We have a great little community of Movie Group friends so rather than see a movie this time, weâll help âcreate a better worldâ by helping serve those in need. Here are complete details and our plan for this event:
FAITH MISSION â GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces.
PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for BRUNCH from 10:30am to 12:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 10:20am and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants.
LOCATION: Faith Mission â Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1 (in the back of the building), indicated in the attached map. On-site parking in the adjacent lot and street parking is available in the surrounding area. Below are some links / attachments with additional info/details:
IMPORTANT REMINDER: Our group will be providing all of the volunteers on this day so a firm RSVP count is essential. Please only sign up if you are certain youâll be able to attend. If something unavoidable comes up, please try to update your RSVP no later than one week prior to the event. With few exceptions, no shows or cancelations within 1
week of the event will not be eligible for future CMG Gives Back events. I appreciate your understanding as we try to ensure the agencies have the volunteers needed to provide the essential services they provide to the vulnerable population they serve. Our Partner Agency for this event is Lutheran Social Services! A huge THANK YOU to all of YOU for volunteering at this (and any of our previous) CMG Gives Back events!
Should be another good/fun/meaningful time together, Dan
