Czech Co-Learning Session šŸ‡ØšŸ‡æ
Czech Co-Learning Session šŸ‡ØšŸ‡æ
Learning Czech can be hard and demotivating, especially when studying alone. **This meetup is a shared study session where we come together to stay focused, motivated, and make progress — each in our own way.** This is a co-learning / co-studying session, not a class. There is no teacher, no lesson, and no study material provided. Everyone comes with their own resources and studies independently, in a shared environment. 🧠 **How it works** • We all bring our own material: • textbooks • homework from a Czech course • Duolingo or other apps • reading practice • vocabulary review, etc. • We mainly work individually • We are free to: • ask questions • help each other • share tips and resources • No teacher, no formal structure, no pressure šŸ‘„ **Who is it for?** • Czech learners of all levels • Non-Czech speakers (expats, internationals) • Czech native speakers are welcome if they want to help, but this is not a language exchange ā± **Practical info** • Location: Cafedu 12, Å krĆ©tova 490, 120 00 Praha 2 (Metro A and C, Muzeum station) • Duration: 2 hours, or less or more, as you want • Day & time: Monday, 18:00 • Group size: small group for now • Free event — please support the cafĆ© by ordering a drink ā˜• If you’re learning Czech and lack motivation when studying alone, come join us — let’s find it together šŸ™‚
Prague's Newest SciFi Book Club (English-language)
Prague's Newest SciFi Book Club (English-language)
**Greetings Sci-fi Enthusiasts in Prague!** Our June 2026 book pick is, *This Is How You Lose the Time War* by Amal El-Mohtar & Max Gladstone. Thank you to everyone that attended in May and voted on our book selection. Among the ashes of a dying world, an agent of the Commandant finds a letter. It reads: *Burn before reading.* Thus begins an unlikely correspondence between two rival agents hellbent on securing the best possible future for their warring factions. Now, what began as a taunt, a battlefield boast, grows into something more. Something epic. Something romantic. Something that could change the past and the future. Except the discovery of their bond would mean death for each of them. There's still a war going on, after all. And someone has to win that war. (description via Goodreads) Shout out to everyone that attended our book club in May and voted for our book selection. Thank you! Alejandra y Richard **Structure** * Book Club starts at 7:00pm and runs through 8:30pm. * Social time from 8:30 - 9:00pm. * No prep needed, just show up with an open mind and heart. * We gather up on the balcony level of the bookstore. * All are welcomed even if you haven't finished the book pick.

**The ABSOLUTE BEST place to be on a Saturday night in Prague! šŸ¤©šŸ¹** Every Saturday, we take over a stunning venue right in the city center and give you **total freedom to mingle at your own pace**. **The most enjoyable way to meet new people without going clubbing! ✨** Tancheerna is unlike any dance event you’ve ever been to—there are no complex routines or staring at your feet. We hit the play button at 19:00 and start right away with fun group dances that are so simple, even children can do them. Later we blend in some easy couple dances mixing European classics, modern folklore, and smooth Latin rhythms. Our evenings are all about **great music, laughter, and the simple joy of moving together.** You don’t need a partner or any dance experience to join us. As long as you can sway to the rhythm, you belong. We use fun group mixers and rotate constantly, making it the perfect, fresh way to come alone and **connect with everyone naturally**. At 21:00, we wrap up the music and head to the nearby bistro for drinks and socializing. šŸ“ **VĆtkov**: https://maps.app.goo.gl/JqyW62aohn18g5ZB8 **šŸ•’ THE PLAN:** 18:50 - Arrival & Hellos **19:00 - The Music Starts! šŸŽ¶** 21:00 - Socializing at Bistro VĆtkov šŸ» šŸŽŸļø **FREE ENTRY** šŸŒ¤ļø **Weather Note:** This is an OPEN-AIR event! Philosophical Reading: Byung Chul-Han’s The Burnout Society
Philosophical Reading: Byung Chul-Han’s The Burnout Society
**Why are so many of us exhausted** — not from hardship, but from **the relentless pressure to do more, be more, optimize more?** Korean-German philosopher Byung-Chul Han has a diagnosis, and it might make you look at your own daily life differently. The Burnout Society is a short, sharp book that asks **why burnout, depression, and anxiety have become the characteristic experiences of our time — and whether the problem runs deeper than stress management or work-life balance.** Byung-Chul Han is a Korean-German philosopher based in Berlin who writes short, dense books diagnosing what’s gone wrong in contemporary life. He writes short, dense books — often under 100 pages — that draw on continental philosophy, cultural theory, and East Asian thought to diagnose something gone wrong in contemporary life. The Burnout Society, first published in German in 2010, was one of his early breakthroughs and one of his most widely read works. Join us for a close reading and open discussion. No prior knowledge of Han or continental philosophy is required. Participants are encouraged to read the text in advance and come prepared with a passage, a question, or a point of resistance. (I didn’t realize that the internet archive option is unavailable. If you can’t easily find a copy, please drop me a message here and I’ll help you out)

Men's Group meetup
**The idea for this group is to build a community where men can gather together and build connections & learn and grow from each other.** How we start each meeting is by each of us checking in with our "roses and thorns" aka what are the good things and the bad things going on in your life recently? Then we will go into a topic discussion. \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- **COMMUNITY AGREEMENTS** \*\*THERE WILL BE A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY FOR NO-SHOWS. IF YOU RSVP TO A MEETING AND FAIL TO SHOW UP WITHOUT NOTICE, YOU'LL BE REMOVED FROM THE GROUP. THIS IS TO PRESERVE THE INTEGRITY OF THE GROUP\*\* 1. Confidentiality - EVERYTHING that is shared NEVER leaves this space so that this space remains safe and sacred. There is a zero tolerance policy for this. If a man is in violation of this, they will be permanently removed from the group. 2. Non-Judgement - we respect and honor every man’s truth so that we may receive the same from others. While we may not agree on everything, we commit to respecting every man’s perspectives and engaging in honorable discussion with one another. 3. Be committed - honor your commitment to this group and to yourself. If you attend a meeting, please commit yourself fully to the meeting. Also be committed to your own journey. When we fail, we own it & clean it up. 4. Speak from the heart - this is NOT a space to ā€œlook goodā€, have the ā€œrightā€ answers, and have it all together. Relax and know you are not alone. Be exactly who you are within the safety of this space. 5. Be supportive - This means always willing to provide encouragement to your fellow men, encourage action and momentum in each other’s lives.. Be willing to challenge each other. Be willing to hold each other accountable. 6. Participation - what you receive from this community will be a reflection of what you put into it. Period. We ask that you share your perspectives, reflect on others, and give/receive support when and where it’s needed.
Free In-person Meeting: Unwanted Emotions & Loneliness, How to Get Over Them
Free In-person Meeting: Unwanted Emotions & Loneliness, How to Get Over Them
This is an in-person meeting. Did you know that unwanted emotions like loneliness, sadness, hopelessness, anger, fear, anxiety, or feelings of irritation don’t just fall on you for no reason. They are not random occurrences that simply happen to people's minds. They are definitely not chemical imbalance in your brain due to some nebulous chemical reactions by chance. Your negative emotions are the symptoms of the painful experiences that you have which are not healed, and which are still affecting you. The effects of these painful experiences are exacerbated by the pressures or difficulties of the other problems in your life. For instance, let's say you are already carrying a huge load on your back, then you cannot take on much more, but, let's say something else happens to you, such as the difficulties from the Pandemic, then the resultant combined weight on you can take you over the edge, kind of like the straw that break the camel's back. When this happens, people's attention usually goes to the straw that was added, but actually the majority of the weight had come from the huge load that were already there, holding a person down and causing a person issues. So how do you remove the huge load that was already there? How do you lighten them up? Is it possible to get rid of them? That is what this meeting will be all about. Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life. Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to this local event. We look forward to seeing you there. This group is created by the Dianetics and Scientology Life Improvement Center of Central Ohio.
