We're gonna hop on a Free Tour Bus (an EMoney or BCA Flazz card will be needed) and explore the sights around Jakarta City Central. We can **take in the city's skyscrapers and vibrant lights** while catching up with each other and connect with new friends. It's a two-level bus. We'll begin our journey at Monas, specifically at Halte IRTI. Let's gather there at 4 pm to catch the last bus of the day. From Monas, the bus will head to Bundaran Senayan. Then to Juanda Street before returning to Monas. The entire trip takes about an hour, depending on traffic conditions. If you want to join only for dinner at the venue (see below 👇🏽) it's possible but it's your responsibility to find the group and wait to have a free seat at the restaurant, etc. (the group cannot wait for you!) **ABOUT THE VENUE** After the bus tour we'll stroll over to **Kawisari Cafe & Eatery** (a roughly 10-minute walk). We will meet for a circa **2,5 hour writing session at Ngoepi in Cilandak**, a cozy café with some tasty bites and a lovely garden near the MRT station Fatmawati Indomaret. It doesn't matter if you are an established writer or if you are picking up pen and paper for the first time. **Just show up, get down to it, and start writing.** Everyone will be working on their own thing, and we won't talk during writing. If you need some prompt or suggestion on what to write, I'll be happy to give you some ideas. After the circa 2,5 h writing session session, we will switch off our laptops and close our notebooks (but if you want to keep going, feel free!) and chill down. **Our January novel is: Once Upon a Wardrobe by Patti Callahan** **This month's featured novel is a 20th-century biographical fiction, coming-of-age, historical romance, women’s fiction, world literature, student biography, heartfelt, magic, and feel-good novel. The book is 311 pages in print and 7 hours and 8 minutes on audiobook.** 1950: Margaret Devonshire (Megs) is a seventeen-year-old student of mathematics and physics at Oxford University. When her beloved eight-year-old brother asks Megs if Narnia is real, logical Megs tells him it's just a book for children, and certainly not true. Homebound due to his illness, and remaining fixated on his favorite books, George presses her to ask the author of the recently released novel The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe a question: "Where did Narnia come from?" Despite her fear about approaching the famous author, who is a professor at her school, Megs soon finds herself taking tea with C. S. Lewis and his own brother Warnie, begging them for answers. Rather than directly telling her where Narnia came from, Lewis encourages Megs to form her own conclusion as he shares the little-known stories from his own life that led to his inspiration. As she takes these stories home to George, the little boy travels farther in his imagination than he ever could in real life. After holding so tightly to logic and reason, her brother's request leads Megs to absorb a more profound truth: "The way stories change us can't be explained. It can only be felt. Like love."
