LuxBuzz Integration Breakfast: Education, Languages & Integration in Luxembourg
***The LuxBuzz Integration Breakfasts are back - New 2026 Series*** **Dear community,** We are happy to announce the return of the **LuxBuzz Integration Breakfasts** - a new series of warm, informal morning conversations designed to make life in Luxembourg easier to understand and navigate. We begin with a topic that touches everyone who arrives in this country: **Education, Languages and Integration in Luxembourg** For many newcomers, building a life here means learning how the system works and especially how languages shape everyday experience. · Which language should you focus on? · How does the education system function? · And how do these elements influence your integration journey? This first Breakfast is an opportunity to explore these questions together openly and without pressure. **Our guest speaker** We are delighted to welcome **Lorraine Duong**, foreign language educator and audiovisual project manager at the Institut de formation de l’Éducation nationale (IFEN). Lorraine brings a unique perspective combining: * deep knowledge of the Luxembourg education system * practical experience supporting language learners * and a genuine passion for helping people integrate with confidence **☕ What to expect** * a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere * practical insights you can actually use * space to ask your own questions * meaningful conversations with others navigating a similar journey **📍 Event details** **Date:** 27 March 2026 **Time:** 09:00 – 10:30 **Location:** The Office Charlotte, Luxembourg Participation is limited to keep the discussion personal and dynamic. This initiative is organised by **The LuxBuzz Academy ASBL** within the framework of the **Biergerpakt for Intercultural Living Together by MIFA**. We are grateful for their support in making these community moments possible. If you are navigating life in Luxembourg or simply curious to understand it better - we would be very happy to welcome you. James by Percival Everett
James by Percival Everett
Percival Everett writes a brilliant reimagining of Adventures of Huckleberry Finn told from the enslaved Jim's point of view. « When Jim overhears that he is about to be sold to a man in New Orleans, separated from his wife and daughter forever, he runs away until he can formulate a plan. Meanwhile, Huck has faked his own death to escape his violent father. As all readers of American literature know, thus begins the dangerous and transcendent journey by raft down the Mississippi River toward the elusive and unreliable promise of the Free States and beyond. » While known as "Jim" to his enslavers, James is a self-educated, articulate man who reclaims his name, "James". He is depicted as simple, credulous, and superstitious, but secretly more literate and erudite than most of the white people around him. 💡the book is available in Luxembourg librairies

Let's try a Friday Night Fish Fry!
Let's try a Friday Night Fish Fry!
We thought of one of the interesting things that can be enjoyed at this time of the year. We will be meeting at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for a "Fish Fry" in Marian Hall on Friday, March 27th at 5:00 PM. It might be fun for you to experience what has become a tradition on the Fridays before Easter. They will have fried fish or baked fish, French fries and Cole slaw, as well as beverages, all for $16.00 for adults. They will have other beverages and desserts available for sale, as well. We have never tried this, and sometimes there are quite a few people at these events so we hope that we will be able to find each other easily. I'll try to have signs outside Marian Hall that Identify our group. We hope to have you join us!
Data & Analytics Wednesday - The Data-Driven Brand
Data & Analytics Wednesday - The Data-Driven Brand
**The Data-Driven Brand: Using Analytics to Shape Perception** Can you use analytics to improve tacos? This being CBUSDAW, we think the answer is probably “yes”, but we’re not sure how to implement or test this theory. For our April meetup we’ve got Sara Kear, CMO of Condado Tacos, to investigate this delicious question. Sara will explore how she blends quantitative data and qualitative customer feedback to shape brand positioning and drive business decisions. We all know that marketing and analytics go way beyond attribution. Sara will show how Condado uses customer insights to inform product and pricing strategy. She’ll also highlight how Condado leverages customer feedback at scale to influence operational priorities, positioning marketing as the voice of the customer across the organization. In the last 12 years Condado has gone from one location in Columbus to 52 locations across 10 states, so we’re guessing there’s more to that growth than really good guac (though the guac probably helps). Ultimately, this talk focuses on the intersection of art and science—using data to inform creativity and build a brand that resonates with customers in a measurable way. **About Our Speaker** Sara Kear is Chief Marketing Officer at Condado Tacos, where she oversees brand, restaurant design, menu and pricing strategy, off-premise including catering, and customer data strategy. Since joining in 2021, she has helped grow the brand from 19 to 52 locations while building a data-driven marketing organization focused on loyalty and customer insights. Condado has since been named to the Inc. 5000, recognized as Breakout Retailer by Chain Store Age, and consistently ranked among FastCasual’s Top 100 Movers & Shakers. Bad Girls Book Club April 2026
Bad Girls Book Club April 2026
**Our April novel is: *The Hong Kong Widow* by Kristen Loesch** **This month’s novel blends gothic atmosphere with historical fiction and chilling horror, set against the haunting backdrop of China. The book is 368 pages in print and 10 hours and 42 minutes on audiobook.** In 1950s Hong Kong, Mei is a young refugee of the Chinese Communist revolution struggling to put her past in Shanghai behind her. When she receives a shocking invitation—to take part in a competition in one of the city's most notorious haunted houses, pitting six spirit mediums against one another in a series of six séances over six nights, until a single winner emerges—she has every reason to refuse. Except that the hostess, a former Shanghainese silent film star, is none other than the wife of the man who once destroyed Mei’s entire life. It is promised the winner will receive a fortune, but there is only one prize Mei wants: revenge. Decades later, the final night of that competition has become an infamous urban legend: The police were called to the scene of a brutal massacre but found no evidence, dismissing it as a collective hallucination. Mei knows what she saw, but now someone else is convinced they know what she did. She must uncover the truth about the last night she ever spent in that house—even if the ghosts of her past are waiting for her there. . . .
