The Language Café is primarily aimed at people who are struggling with their mental health which can make it hard to go to regular courses. We want to create a safe space for everyone to learn and practise without pressure. Everyone is welcome! Please try to be on time so we can all get started together :) We mainly practise on a beginner/lower intermediate level and adapt to everyone's prior level of German. The Language Café will focus on teaching you the most important words and phrases and basic grammar in German. The content of the course is adapted to real life. (everyday life in Germany, dealing with authorities, etc.) We will cover different topics every week and you can join us anytime, since the topics do not necessarily build on each other. We're gonna have another Game Creators Hangout! This one is going to be a special one - we're gonna hang out at the ELECTRIC SOCIAL Arcade Bar. As a follow-up to our macro class and to get ready for our May and June Field Shoots, we are going to have a macro training "class." I will attempt to work through a number of macro shoots with the group. Those with cameras can try to shoot the same subjects I am shooting. We will start with some small objects and work our way down to smaller and smaller ones. As we photograph each subject, we will consider depth of field, focal plane management, subject composition, background, and lighting. I have no idea how many subjects we will get through, but we will give it our best shot (pun intended!). Bring your camera, whatever macro gear you might have, a tripod if you have one, whatever lighting you may have, etc. This will really be an exercise in seeing what you have, me showing you some ways to approach the subjects, and seeing what works!
