Agentic DevOps – MeetUp June ´26
Welcome to our next community MeetUp! The pace of change in software delivery isn’t slowing down—and neither are we. For our upcoming MeetUp, we’re once again bringing together Berlin’s engineers, architects, and tech leaders to explore the move from classic automation to Agentic AI and intelligent cloud workflows. 18:00 - Welcome & Networking 18:30 - Short Introduction & First Talk 19:15 - Break with food & drinks 19:45 - Second Talk 20:30 - More Networking & cold drinks Here's a quick intro to our speakers and what they'll be talking about: **Speaker:** Alberto Miorin and Valery Lavrentiev – Staff engineers (https://www.linkedin.com/in/albertomiorin/ and https://www.linkedin.com/in/valery-lavrentiev-5467782/) **Talk:** BigConfig: The First Agentic Package Manager In this talk, Alberto and Valery introduce BigConfig, an open‑source Clojure/Babashka infrastructure package manager built for agentic workflows. The session shows why higher-level, composable packages are needed instead of raw Terraform, Ansible, Helm, or YAML. It also demonstrates how natural-language plans are turned into auditable bb.edn configurations and deployable infrastructure packages. Alberto is a Berlin-based engineer with a background in DevOps, Data, and AI. He previously helped scale the data platforms at Zalando and OneFootball. Valery Lavrentiev is a Berlin-based AI/ML engineer who played a key role in building the OneFootball personalization engine. **Speaker:** Saeid Mirzaeiaraghi - Senior Software Engineer at Cluster Reply (https://www.linkedin.com/in/saeid-mirzaei/) **Title:** Agentic Documentation with GitHub Copilot Learn how GitHub Copilot transforms codebases into living documentation using AI-driven workflows for architecture, APIs, and onboarding. Discover the business value for enterprise teams, from improved productivity to better maintainability, and understand key challenges and best practices for reliable results. Saeid focuses on enterprise software architecture and modern engineering, with a strong emphasis on AI-assisted development. Co-Working Session (Deep Work, all types of work welcome)
Co-Working Session (Deep Work, all types of work welcome)
Hello! I’m organising a coworking + socialising session for all of us who are working on projects (e.g. our own creations, freelance or remote work) but don't feel like sitting alone at home. 🙂 To ensure that we have time for both socialising AND working, we will be using the so-called “Pomodoro” technique: **50 mins deep work** (silent), followed by **10 mins break** to socialise. And then repeat! You are welcome to join whatever your personal background is, and whatever project you are working on. I (the host) speak English and German, so either language is fine. ——————————————————- AGENDA: * **Short Intro** Tell us who you are and share something about what you will be working on today * **Pomodoro Session** \- 3x \(3h\) Each Pomodoro session consists of 50 mins focused “deep work” (no talking, no interruptions, **phones on silent mode**) -> then 10 mins break: a chance to share your progress with others -> Repeat * **15 mins Wrap Up** Celebrate what you achieved and get to know others 😊 ———— Wifi + power plugs are available - but best to bring a fully charged laptop, just in case 🙃 You **do not** have to pay anything. But since we are using the café space, it is common courtesy to buy at least one drink (coffee costs roughly **4 Euros**).

Meetup for laid off folks in Berlin
Meetup for laid off folks in Berlin
Please RSVP on luma: https://luma.com/xmc1l5eg # Laid off? Same! Barely anyone I know hasn't been laid off at least once. Layoffs feel like another Tuesday right now. That's why I call us "Generation Layoff." If you've been laid off, or feel one coming - this is your space. This meetup is for everybody pre-, during or post-layoff. Whether you stressed out about an upcoming layoff or you've been laid off and now job-hunting or want to start something of your own - come and share. No judgment, no pressure. We share where we're at, what we're going through, and what's coming next. This isn't another networking event where we hunt opportunities and call being laid off "impacted by company restructuring." We connect people based on the challenges they're actually facing - so everyone leaves with something useful, whether that's a contact, a resource, or just knowing you're not alone. Being laid off is often treated as a taboo topic - and it shouldn't be. We'll exchange all the insider tips and tricks and get stronger together. What to Expect: → A chill, zero-judgement safe space → Addressing your challenges → People helping people ORGANISATIONAL STUFFS: → We'll meet in a park, bring a blanket to sit on, a drink of your choice and some snacks, whatever it is you need for a picnic style. → In case of rain we will go to the BRLO Brewery. If you can't find us, call +4917626669794 I will carry a sign with "GENERATION LAYOFF" though :D We meet in Gleisdreieck park here: [https://maps.app.goo.gl/rC6fh9EprxEHnxEL7?g_st=ic](https://maps.app.goo.gl/rC6fh9EprxEHnxEL7?g_st=ic&utm_source=luma)

Shared Experience Builds Teams
Shared Experience Builds Teams
A practical theatre-based experience for HR and professionals working with teams. Created by TISTO studio. We create spaces where individuals become more authentic and teams grow more connected. We help people return to real human contact — with themselves and with each other. Life gets busy and digitally overloaded. Our mind is always on, we’re moving on autopilot, and real connection starts to feel rare. We miss that sense of being fully alive — doing something just for fun, no reason, just because. Playground is a 2-hour session built around games and structured exercises actors use to develop presence, spontaneity, focus, and connection. You’ll practice with no scripts, no experience, and no preparation — just show up and play in real time. Customize the IDE: Building Extensions for Visual Studio Code - Alan Barber
**Important time note:** Please plan on arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 as the elevators lock after 6 and you'll need to message us and we'll need to come get you. The building address is 4450 Bridge Park The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400 You will need to scan your ID at the door to get a visitor badge. **Abstract** *Customize the IDE: Building Extensions for Visual Studio Code* Visual Studio Code is one of the most widely used development environments today, and much of its flexibility comes from its extension ecosystem. Extensions allow developers to customize the editor with new features, integrations, and workflow improvements tailored to their needs. In this session, we’ll cover what extensions are and the different types available, including full extensions written in TypeScript or JavaScript, along with lighter-weight extensions such as color themes, language packs, language support, code snippets, and keymaps. We’ll also look at practical reasons a developer might create an extension, from automating repetitive tasks to adding custom tooling. The session includes a hands-on walkthrough of creating a new extension, testing it locally, and understanding the basic project structure. We’ll close with a brief overview of how extensions are packaged and published to the Visual Studio Marketplace and other distribution options. **YouTube Link** TBD

AI Agents 101: How to Make ChatGPT Do Actual Work
AI Agents 101: How to Make ChatGPT Do Actual Work
Most people still use AI like a search box: type one question, get one answer, repeat. But the next step is AI agents: systems that can take a goal, break it into steps, use tools, remember context, and produce useful work for a human to review. In this beginner-friendly session, we’ll demystify what AI agents actually are — without hype or jargon. We’ll walk through practical examples of how agents can help with research, planning, writing, coding, operations, and personal productivity. We’ll cover: * What makes an AI “agent” instead of just a chatbot * How agents break tasks into steps * Where agents are genuinely useful today * Where they fail, hallucinate, or need human review * How to design simple AI workflows for your own work * A live demo of an AI agent-style workflow from start to finish No coding experience required. This is for anyone who wants to understand where AI tools are going and how to use them more effectively right now. LOGISTICS AND PARKING: The talk starts at 7:00 PM. The first half hour is reserved for everyone to get set up and mingle. Free pizza and drinks! The cheapest parking option is to find street parking, which will only cost you a few bucks. Otherwise, park in the nearby veteran's museum lot for $8. It's highly recommended you avoid the nearby $15 garage parking.
