We playtest all sorts of games - strategic, silly, creative, or whatever. Some games are almost done. Some are very early ideas. We test anything that will fit into 90 minutes. You don't need to bring a game - we always love to have new playtesters! Please let us know in the comments when you plan to arrive/leave and whether you are bringing a game or not. This helps us to plan the day better. The schedule is: 10am onwards - gathering, chatting 11am sharp - playing for 90 min ('slot 1') 12:30ish - break for food/chat 1pm sharp - playing for 90 min ('slot 2') 2:30ish - break for food/chat 3pm sharp - playing for 90 min ('slot 3') 4:30ish - finish up Often, we might hang around afterwards, to play some already-published games. We are strict on timings, so please try to arrive a few minutes before the session to limit disruption. You can just come for part of the day if you wish. The reason we have fixed timings for the 3 'slots' is to make it easier for folk to do so. Designers of all levels of experience are welcome! But if it's your first time, we ask that you don't bring a game and just spend some time learning how the group works. The group works based on reciprocation. If you expect to test your own game, make sure stay for long enough to play other games. As a general rule of thumb, you can expect to play one of your own games every third 90-minute session. So if you stay a whole day (3 sessions), you can expect to have one session to play your game(s). A good rule of thumb is that if you come all day, you will have one 90 minute session with two other playtesters in which to test your own games. It is sometimes possible to test games with more players. If your game requires 4 or more, please note that as standard you will be allocated half of a session (45 minutes). Pre-covid, we were getting unmanageable. As a result, we may have to limit attendees. This is a free-to-use venue, and we have to be mindful that other folk want to use the same space. Please note: This is an adults only event. We look forward to seeing you!

Once a spot becomes available, i.e. another member cancels, the first person on the waiting list will be added to RSVP automatically. As such, the person will be sent an automated email confirming so. For those who do not wish to be added automatically, please remove your name from the waiting list. Please cancel waitlist 24 hours before the event if made other plans, as meetup will push you to attending list if spot opens. We charge on spot basis **Cancellation** If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice a full fee will be charge unless we found a replacement. (only if no other spots available. Preference to fill other spots) If you found a replacement You MUST also inform the organisers who your replacement is so you will get a full refund. **No Show Fees** Full fee will be added to the profile on the next visit. No Refund will be provided **Beginners or Training** If you are Beginner/Starter, send us text as we arrange separate sessions. We do not provide any professional coaching or training however if the courts avail players are welcome to train each other. **Disclaimer** This is a social session we do not cover any liabilities. Organisers, Host or Venue can accept no liability for any loss or injury, however sustained, while taking part in group activities. If you want to cover yourself against injury to yourself or others, please make sure you have the appropriate insurance. Friday Badminton (Social) **Important note on registration** This page is for information only. Please register on our website. **Time:** 8-10pm **Venue:** City Sport, EC1V 7DP **Format:** This is our regular social session. There are 3 courts. After 5 minutes of warm-up, we play doubles games to 21 points. You’re free to jump onto any court when you see a space but please don’t stay on the same court for consecutive games (unless no one else is in queue). Note that this is a mixed-level social session so there would be players of all levels **Fee and Registration:** Session fee of £11 covers courts and feather shuttles. Members enjoy £2 discount (join us on [bjmfsports.org](http://bjmfsports.org/)). **Cancellation and Refund Policy:** Participants may request a cancellation with a full refund if the request is made more than 24 hours before the event starts. Join us at for this Saturday between 11am-2.30pm at Pastures Youth and Sports Centre for a fun and social badminton over four courts. Nearest station is Leytonstone station on central line or Leytonstone High Street on overground. If you drive, you can park on street nearby (free on Saturday). Please make sure to bring your own kit and racket. It is £12 per person for 3.5 hours. We play with quality feather shuttlecocks. RSVP is now open on meetup. If you've designed a game, bring it along and give it a play or just enjoy playing other people's prototypes in a friendly and constructive atmosphere. If you would like to bring along a new design, contact Rob Harris (Organiser) and we will add your game to the list. Deadline for pre-registering games is 11:59pm on the Friday before. Hi everyone! Booking is now open for our next badminton session, 11am-1pm on Sunday at Ark All Saints Camberwell 140 Wyndham Road SE5 0UB. The cost is only £12 per person plus £1.62 Meetup booking fee, paid in advance before the start of the session. Bring your racket or lease one for the session for a nominal £2.00, shuttlecocks is provided. The lease rackets are available at the venue, so just make your way down. Please note we don't have enough for everybody just a few. If you damage your racket during the session you get one to use for free. So if you wish to play and don’t yet have a racket make your way down, try and have a couple of nuggets (£2.00) handy because the racket lease fee is not included with the session booking fee. Payment is by PayPal, Debit card, Credit card, Bank transfer, and Cash. Contact the host if you encounter any problem with making payment or wish to pay by other method (Payment by Bank transfer & Cash is £12.00) Direction: The badminton hall is situated at the rear of the school, read on for direction on how to locate the hall. The main entrance to the school is located on Wyndham road, on Wyndham road look for Toulon Street it is on the same side as the school. If you stand facing the school Toulon Street should be to your right. Toulon street lead on to Pitman Street which is where the entrance is located. Use the pedestrian gate to let yourself in, if it is locked use the intercom and somebody should let you in. Our Social Backgammon Group It's always a treat to catch up with our regulars and welcome new players into the mix - whether you’re a seasoned top player or curious about the game and would like to learn, everyone’s welcome. The afternoon offers the perfect blend of friendly competition, laughter, and the occasional lucky double six! About Our Backgammon Group Our group started in June 2015 - that’s over 10 years ago! Since then, we’ve held around 500 official backgammon meetups and around 250 off-grid gatherings besides. With almost 2,500 members, we’re the largest backgammon group in the UK. What makes our group special is the warmth, humour, and friendliness everyone brings to the board. We typically meet fortnightly on Sundays, with usually 15 - 25 regular players and new faces each time. Everyone’s welcome. Dinner, Drinks and Playing Time We usually sit for a relaxed group meal around 5.30pm, but you’re free to order food and drinks whenever you wish. RSVP Please RSVP as soon as you can.
