We're located here in the Cinema (which can be found on the 3rd floor of the Mercury Mall Shopping Centre) on: * **Tuesdays & Thursdays**: From 17:30 to 22:00. * **Saturdays**: From 12:00 to 22:00 🦁 And we're still running every Monday 6pm to 11pm at the Golden Lion Pub too. 🌭☕ There are hot & cold food & drink options available from the cinema at low prices! Supporting Premiere Cinema by buying their food & drink IS supporting Dicing With Life! The cinema has been very generous to us by bringing us into their space & our way of showing our gratitude is by sending some business their way. And their menu is surprisingly cheap! Especially compared to any other cinema. We can lend you everything you need including a pre-generated character. If you want to bring or create your own character, please arrive at 12.40pm and discuss your character with your assigned DM. Please respect their decision in the unlikely event that they say you have to use a pre-generated character. They may have story or rules reasons they can't disclose. If you're looking for a laid back Saturday playing some board games and talking nerd stuff in a pub with some awesome people, this is the meetup for you! Whether you're new to London or just want to get some long-lost in-person socialisation, we're a friendly community and welcome you all. **What to expect:** We officially play from **2 PM to 7 PM**, but we keep it casual. Show up when you can, and stay as long as you like. First timers - please kindly read below about bringing your board, meetup fee, purchasing drinks and food, etiquette etc Please RSVP - CSC requires names of guests Intro Dear Backgammon Lovers, We had such a brilliant turnout on Sunday with around 20 backgammoners showing up at Gest where we welcomed a guest from the other side of the world, along with new and familiar friendly faces. We'll be returning next to the Civil Service Club that is moments from Trafalgar Square. Social & Fun Backgammon at the CSC Whether you're a seasoned backgammoner or a newbie looking to learn this fabulous game that is thousands of years old, our social event is open to all. This is the perfect opportunity to sharpen your game, and share a laugh (or a lucky double six!) over backgammon. Add in a drink, maybe dinner, and you’ve got the recipe for a fun and relaxed evening. Venue Food and Drink Just a little reminder that when we use the Civil Service Club, we’re asked to buy at least one drink whilst we’re there, and hopefully food too. The Club has a nice range of food and snacks on offer, all at good prices, so it’s a great chance to relax and make the most of the day. About our backgammon social group Our group has been running for nearly 11 years since June 2015 and we have held nearly 500 official backgammon meetings - along with a further 300 off-grid (non meetups) since then. We are the largest backgammon group in the UK with nearly 2,500 backgammoners as members. What makes our group special are its members and the warmth, humour and friendliness whilst playing this splendid social game over a few drinks... usually fortnightly, and on a Sunday. We have about 30-odd regular members who play socially and we very much welcome new players too - so do come along. Dinner Time and Drinks and Food In between the rounds of backgammon many of us sit for a meal around 6pm, but you can order drinks and food whenever you like. RSVP Please RSVP asap - Often I need to provide the Club with an indication of numbers. Bring your own Backgammon Board - no problem if initially you don't have one. Love seeing the different styles and size of boards - my boards have somehow gotten larger over the years. Please bring your own backgammon board and should you not have one please let us know in advance via the Meetup message board so that others can make the effort to bring theirs. Meetup Fee I will ask for £4 as the meetup fees etc have increased substantially over the past year or two. This also assists paying other admin costs including Club membership and tips. Other Games We sometimes play other games in the evening such as Rummikub, Yahtzee, and a type of Gin Rummy... so ask and watch this space! Hi everyone! Booking is now open for our next badminton session, 11am-1pm on Sunday at Ark All Saints Camberwell 140 Wyndham Road SE5 0UB. The cost is only £12 per person plus £1.62 Meetup booking fee, paid in advance before the start of the session. Bring your racket or lease one for the session for a nominal £2.00, shuttlecocks is provided. The lease rackets are available at the venue, so just make your way down. Please note we don't have enough for everybody just a few. If you damage your racket during the session you get one to use for free. So if you wish to play and don’t yet have a racket make your way down, try and have a couple of nuggets (£2.00) handy because the racket lease fee is not included with the session booking fee. Payment is by PayPal, Debit card, Credit card, Bank transfer, and Cash. Contact the host if you encounter any problem with making payment or wish to pay by other method (Payment by Bank transfer & Cash is £12.00) Direction: The badminton hall is situated at the rear of the school, read on for direction on how to locate the hall. The main entrance to the school is located on Wyndham road, on Wyndham road look for Toulon Street it is on the same side as the school. If you stand facing the school Toulon Street should be to your right. Toulon street lead on to Pitman Street which is where the entrance is located. Use the pedestrian gate to let yourself in, if it is locked use the intercom and somebody should let you in. Please be mindful that we are in a small space and that other members will need to explain rules and focus. As a small group of volunteers, we are very dependent on the good will of our venues to host us for free. It is vitally important that everyone attending LoB buys food and drink to ensure that we can build and maintain those relationships with our venues. If you have any feedback about the venue, please report it to us directly rather than speaking to the staff. You must only attend if you have a place, i.e. that you have made it off the waitlist.
