Code is Law
**🎬 Ethereum Slovenia is back in the new year and we’re starting strong.**
Just like last year, when we opened the year with *Vitalik: An Ethereum Story*, we’re kicking off 2026 with another powerful film that goes to the very core of crypto ideology.
This time, we’re screening **Code is Law**, a gripping documentary that dives deep into the most dramatic hacks, legal grey zones, and ethical dilemmas in the history of decentralized technology.

**About the film**
Hundreds of millions of dollars have been stolen in massive crypto heists — yet the hackers claim they broke no laws.
*Code is Law* exposes an unprecedented crime spree in the world of cryptocurrency, told through the eyes of cyber vigilantes chasing highly sophisticated attackers who argue that if the code allows it, it’s not a crime. At the center of the story is a teenage math prodigy who stole $64 million, mocked his victims, and became the first to seriously test the infamous “code is law” defense — before vanishing as an international fugitive.
The film traces the origins of the *Code is Law* movement from the infamous $50M DAO hack, through the rise of Andean Medjedovic — the Indexed Finance and KyberSwap hacker — whose actions challenged the very definition of crime, responsibility, and justice in decentralized systems.
This is not just a story about smart contracts and exploits — it’s a deeply human story about power, ideology, accountability, and what happens when self-executing code collides with a faceless legal system.

AWS UG Ljubljana - Januar 2026
🌞 The January meetup of AWS User Group Ljubljana is coming up, and we're gathering once again at Sputnik!
\-\-\-
Marko from ServerlessLife will take us on a journey through serverless. This lecture is intended for anyone, regardless of their level of serverless knowledge. We will begin by discussing how to get into serverless and the key challenges to be aware of. We will cover the main services, review common design patterns, and explain how serverless development differs from conventional development. We will also look at current trends and some of the latest features.
In the second part, we will move to a more advanced level. We will examine AWS service gotchas and design patterns that can lead to unexpected outcomes—and, in some cases, silent data loss.
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner, this talk will provide practical insights and valuable takeaways.

Or you're just looking to develop further as a manager?
We're bringing in certified coaches for this meetup to help us with that!
At the 2-hour workshop **Coaching Skills for Engineering Managers**, we’ll use role-play and guided exercises to learn how to lead better conversations within your team through powerful questions.
