How is it that you can Help kids or yourself to become a better student!
How is it that you can Help kids or yourself to become a better student!
Too many kids as well as teenagers and adults have problems with study. Today's meetup will inform you about the basics in STUDY TECHNOLOGY that provides an understanding of the basics of learning and supplies exact ways to overcome all the pitfalls one can encounter during study. This is applicable to young children, teenagers (or their parents that are trying to help them) and adults alike. Study Technology shows how one studies in order to comprehend a subject so one can apply it. Laws on which learning is based and workable methods have also been discovered for anyone to apply for themselves or when teaching others. Too many students graduate from school and college unable to put to use what they’ve learned in school. It’s not that they’re stupid or that their teachers didn’t know how to teach. More than likely it traces back to the one thing missing from most educations—learning how to learn in the first place. We all went to school, yet isn’t it odd that no one taught us how to study? The information presented at this meetup can help anyone improve others or his own ability to learn. It is a practical tool that parents and teachers alike can use to enhance a child's study performance. You’ll learn the barriers that lie between your own or a child's education. And you will very quickly learn how to overcome them. This technology will enable you or a child to pursue any subject with skill and confidence. Teachers who have "hard to handle/distributive " or slow learners in class will absolutely love the amazing turn around most often seen in improved behaviour and student performance in class. If you or your child has difficulties at school (or learning new things at work or online) than this meetup is important to you. If you can not make it to our meetup than contact the organizer and arrange it to suit your time. This technology can if one was to live far away be taught online. (extension course) You may offcourse also opt to have this technology taught to your own child by experienced volunteeer staff or learn about this yourself and transfer this knowledge to those you want to have better grades. Yes it is possible to improve anyone's study performance. All it takes is just 5 steps. See you at this meetup. Pam
Simple AI: From Curious to Confident - A Live Visual Guide to ChatGPT’s Features
Simple AI: From Curious to Confident - A Live Visual Guide to ChatGPT’s Features
**Most people use ChatGPT like a search engine, but it’s actually more like a skilled assistant waiting for clear instructions.** If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by that blinking cursor in an empty chat box, or wondered what all those new buttons and settings actually do, this session is for you. We’ve all heard the AI hype, but few are using it to actually make their daily lives easier. In fact, most people are only using about 10% of what ChatGPT can truly do. It’s time to move beyond the "search box" mentality and start treating AI like the powerful partner it is. For our second January catch-up, I’m taking the training wheels off. At **Aiven Australia (AI Ventures)**, we believe technology should be straightforward and practical. That’s why there will be **no "tech-bro" talk.** Instead, I’ll be sharing my screen to show you exactly how I navigate the 2026 interface to save hours every week. We’ll move from curious to confident by looking at the brand-new **"Go" tier** that just launched in Australia this week, showing you how to get the results you need the first time. We won't be talking about complex theories, we will be looking at how to navigate the 2026 interface to make your daily life and work simpler. This is your step-by-step guide to making ChatGPT your most practical everyday tool. **What we will explore together:** * **A Guided Interface Tour:** A visual map of the settings and features that matter most in 2026. * **Commanding the Tool:** How to use the built-in options to get reliable results the first time. * **Practical Workflows:** Real-world examples of using AI for planning, drafting, and organizing. * **Live Q&A:** Your chance to ask "How do I do this?" in a relaxed environment. **The Takeaway:** To help you put this into practice, everyone who joins the live session will receive the **Aiven Simple AI: ChatGPT Essentials Cheat Sheet**, a one-page PDF guide designed to be your permanent reference. **Logistics:** * **Join the meeting here:** [https://meet.google.com/qho-oepe-tfb](https://meet.google.com/qho-oepe-tfb) * **Register here to receive your calendar invite and the follow-up Cheat Sheet:** [Sign Up Here](https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/simple-ai-from-curious-to-confident-a-live-visual-guide-to-chatgpt-tickets-1980854884282?utm-campaign=social&utm-content=attendeeshare&utm-medium=discovery&utm-term=listing&utm-source=cp&aff=ebdsshcopyurl) **Simple AI \| Practical Tools \| [aiven.com.au](aiven.com.au)**

Climbing and the Pub: A vertical social adventure with 🥑food and 🍻drink
Climbing and the Pub: A vertical social adventure with 🥑food and 🍻drink
🧗Climbing, onwards and upwards to the Pub: A Vertical Social Adventure Eat Drink Dance Melbourne – Social Rock Climbing Night Hardrock Climbing, Swanston St (CBD) Thursday 8 January 2026 – Subject to venue timetables (stay tuned!) **Venue information** inc costs. [Hard Rock Climbing](https://www.hardrock.com.au/prices/) You will need to purchase entry and at a minimum also a rock climbing harness, you also have the option to hire climbing shoes (for a better experience) and chalk although these are not exactly necessary if you are new to the sport. Ready to swap the dance floor for a climbing wall and flirt with gravity for a couple of hours? Join us for Climbing to Pub, a fun, social, slightly chaotic vertical adventure right in the heart of Melbourne. We’ll spend around 2 hours at Hardrock Melbourne (CBD) scaling colourful walls, cheering each other on, and discovering which muscles we forgot existed. Afterwards, for those who want to keep the good vibes rolling, we’ll wander over to Captain Melville for dinner and drinks from 9pm—because nothing says “I conquered a wall” like a cold beverage and a hearty feed. --- What to Bring - Water (hydration = happiness) - Comfortable, stretchy clothes - Runners (or hire climbing shoes for a much better grip-and-zip experience) - A big carbohydrate snack to keep the energy flowing - Your best “I swear I’m not afraid of heights” attitude --- For First‑Timers & New Gym Climbers If you’ve never climbed before—or you’re new to Hardrock—you’ll need to complete a compulsory safety induction. The friendly staff will outfit you with a harness and teach you how to belay safely (aka: how to hold your climbing partner’s life in your hands with confidence and charm). We’ll be doing roped climbing, so teamwork is part of the fun. --- A Note from Your (Very Rusty) Host Once upon a time I was a climbing and mountaineering instructor… and then came lockdowns, injuries, hand surgeries, and a long break from the vertical arts. So I’ll be right there with you on the baby beginner climbs, laughing, wobbling, and rediscovering my forearms. No pressure, no ego—just a group of friendly humans having a go. --- What to Expect - A fun, flirty, low‑stakes social atmosphere - Lots of cheering, laughing, and “wait, how do I get down?” moments - A guaranteed dose of DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) if you haven’t exercised in a while - A perfect warm‑up for the group’s cycling rides if you want to get those muscles activated Climbing is one of the best social sports around—shared challenge, shared triumph, and plenty of opportunities to chat between climbs. Whether you’re a seasoned wall‑scrambler or a total newbie, you’re welcome. Stay tuned for final confirmation once Hardrock releases their summer timetable. If we can't get a good time, I'll rebook the event for when they have late night opening again. Let’s climb, laugh, flirt with gravity… and then wander to the pub. If you do not get there on time ask at reception for the Meetup group run by Mark **_Pleaee Note_**:Please ensure that you remove yourself from the RSVP list if you can't make it, and let other people on the waitlist, if there is one, onto the event. I tend to remove no shows and flakes from the group for special events like this

Aus Open: Ground Pass Men's Semi Final night social at AO-Topcourt
Enjoy the Australian Open atmosphere on Men's Semi Final night. If you haven't visited the Aus Open this year, this is one of Melbourne's best sporting events and is excellent value for entertainment and a great night out. The atmosphere is buzzing but yet the vibe is quite relaxed. The Ground Pass is $19 and provides access to the many outside courts as well as the Topcourt area where there are food and drink vendors and big screens to watch the action on the main courts. Buy your own tickets here for **Friday the 30th Night Ground Pass.** https://www.ticketmaster.com.au/event/2500631BDC10199D?brand=ausopen The ground pass allows entry from 5pm. I'll arrive at Topcourt at around 6:15pm. Once everyone has gathered, we'll look at the match schedules and see if we can find some outside courts to watch some tennis. If these prove to be too busy, then we can relax at one either the Courtside bar, Grandslam Oval, The Local Bar at the Village or head back to Topcourt and watch the action on the screens while enjoying something to drink and eat. From the AO website: *"TOPCOURT, the AO’s vibrant precinct at Birrarung Marr which debuted in 2025 is back with fan-favourite Game On, more live music and entertainment, POP and Pickleball courts, fresh activations and shopping."* **What to bring:** * Appropriate clothing if it's sunny/windy/rainy/etc. * Sunscreen if it's sunny **MEETING LOCATION** Meet at Topcourt.
