Evening Stroll Through the Cherry Blossoms in Kenwood (MD)
Everybody knows about the cherry blossoms now in full bloom around the Tidal Basin. But there's an equally extravagant display of cherry blossoms each year in the Kenwood neighborhood of Bethesda, MD.
We will gather after work at 5 p.m. next Monday evening March 30 at the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and Old Georgetown Road, near the entrance to the Bethesda Metro Station. From there we'll walk through downtown Bethesda to pick up the paved Capital Crescent Trail that soon delivers us directly to Kenwood. Once we arrive, we'll scatter through residential streets for about an hour to ooh and ah; Kenwood is a very fancy neighborhood, so its homes and manors are quite impressive in their own right. We should be back in Bethesda by sunset; there will be an optional dinner in one of the many local establishments before we return to the Bethesda Metro station.
Total length of our round-trip on the paved and level Capital Crescent Trail should be about 2 miles, plus whatever mileage we rack up roaming the streets of Kenwood. Bring beverages, snacks, and $5 for the Adventuring trip fee.

Full Moon - Pink Moon
Come and join us for a full Moon ceremony.
I will invite the spirits and guides to join us. We will have a comfortable meditation and some manifestations and intention setting for the new moon cycle.
We will participate in a healing journey. This is very powerful and quite healing. This month we will do a past life regression.
We will be sharing and discussing some thought-provoking questions. I recommend bringing a journal to record your thoughts.
We can share some stories around the fire and then I will close the ceremony.
Bring appropriate crystals that you would like charged. The best crystals to charge during a full moon are amethyst, smoky quartz, citrine, black selenite, and obsidian. We will be outside so please dress for the weather.
This is a laid-back event at our home, I hope that you can join us.
Howling at the moon is optional and encouraged.
Please enter the gate on the right of the house behind the green bug. We are on the patio in the back.
See you then!

Pink Full Moon 🌝 Hike Kentlands Lakes - Vasili’s HH 🍱 Afterward
For safety due to the width of the trails and darkness we will be limiting to 15 Members.
The full moon in April 2025, also known as the "Pink Moon" or "Paschal Moon",
The full moon always lies opposite the sun in the sky. Consequently, it is visible all night. All full moons rise along the eastern horizon close to the time of sunset. Likewise, all full moons set along the western horizon close to the time of sunrise. At full moon, the sun, Earth, and the moon align in space, with Earth in the middle. And, the moon’s day side – its fully lighted hemisphere – directly faces us. That is why the moon appears full.
We schedule the moonwalk when the moon can be seen in the Early evening. So you can be home and be tucked into bed.
Hike distance is 2-21/2 miles and 1-1/2 - 2 hours with time for a bite to eat afterwards.
We can make arrangements for a light dinner and drinks after the hike at local restaurant.
Flashlight or lighting is required. Wear appropriate hiking gear and clothing.

Petalpalooza Fireworks at Navy Yard
The Petalpalooza Festival is part of the Cherry Blossom Festival events in DC. With daylong activities throughout the day, join us at The Thompson Hotel Rooftop for a happy hour followed by fireworks that will be scene from the rooftop on Sat., Apr. 4th at 7pm. We will meet up at the rooftop.
Petalpalooza is a daylong street fair of live music, dancing and art, taking place at the Capitol Riverfront close to the Washington Nationals’ ballpark. The fireworks will soar over the Anacostia River at 8:30pm. The Rooftop at Thompson Hotel is arguably the best place to see the fireworks.
Hiker Happy Hour - The Crown and Crow
HHH Spring Edition.
Does disappearing into the wilderness with a group of strangers put you on edge? Then come to a casual happy hour and get to know us first. This is a great time to meet your fellow outdoor enthusiasts and get connected - without needing to gear up.
This time, let's go to DC and check out The Crown & Crow (Logan Circle). 7pm. The Crown & Crow is a massive underground bar with a speakeasy feel. The only signage outside is a gold emblem of a crow with a crown on it's head. Once you see this, follow the stairs down to the bar.
Please update your RSVP if your plans change so that we have an accurate headcount. Thanks!

Contra dance with Big Scioty April 11 - Clinton Heights Lutheran church
**Caller: Kim Thompson**
**Band: Full Moon Country Dance Orchestra**
**Clinton Heights Lutheran Church**
**15 Clinton Heights Ave, Columbus, OH 43202**
WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing!
Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor.
Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner.
Cost is $10.00 adults, $5.00 ages 12-26. Under 12 free. Free parking in church lot.
