RUMBLE (APRIL SERIES)
RUMBLE (APRIL SERIES)
Welcome back to Rumble. This month our focus is to help you climb stronger, descend safer, and move more confidently on hikes. We’ll keep our 4 core stations — feet and calves, engine, climbing strength, and downhill control — so you can actually feel progress over the weeks, not just get through a workout! **Meeting Place:** as seen in the image (Right next to Old Hill Street Police Station; opposite Funan) Accessible via different MRT lines and bus stops 3 min walk from Clarke Quay Stn Exit E **Duration:** 1.5h **Level:** Mixed Levels (but make sure you are physically well before attending) **What to expect:** 1. Warm-up & dynamic stretching 1. Stamina, Stability and Single Leg strengthening exercises with Stairs/Steps :) 3. Jogging/brisk\-walking between stations **Items to bring/wear** * comfortable sports attire and appropriate shoes * (Arm-length) Towel and water bottle * Most of us will be carrying our bags as part of hike training (you can choose to leave them in your car if you’re driving or bring a small bag) Make sure you are able to run with your bag! (e.g. BACKPACK) **Note:** * In the event of wet weather, the event will be cancelled. However, if it is just a light drizzle, we may still proceed with caution or head to AU office for Signature Indoor Workout. * If you will be late or unable to make it, please inform me in advance (WA +6597318648) or update your RSVP by 8 p.m. the night before so that I can inform the next person on the waitlist. * We’re capping this at **20 pax per session** so it stays focused and manageable. * Priority will go to 2026 AU trip participants and Elite AU club members. If there are slots left, it will be given to members of the publi.c If you’re on the waitlist, it may not move strictly in order as trip participants are prioritised. We will start on time so come at least 5 minutes earlier! If you’ve done Rumble before, you already know what this is about. If you haven’t — come try once. You’ll either love it or hate me slightly. Both are acceptable. Join us for more adventures at: https://bit.ly/3Rv6XrT

Robots : Reasoning and Acting
Robots : Reasoning and Acting
Robots are improving at an increasing pace - due to improvements in hardware; simulation environments; and machine learning approaches at many levels : What if your Agents could take physical form? Talks (subject to updates...): **"Putting AI Agents into Humanoid Robots" - Yip Jia Qi** Since Jia Qi last talked at our meetup in 2023, he has been working at Menlo Research - who have recently open-sourced the Asimov humanoid robot (https://asimov.inc/diy-kit). In his talk, Jia Qi will talk about what has already been accomplished, and outline Menlo's (even more ambitious) goals. **"World [Action] Models" - Martin Andrews** Martin will be giving a high-level description of the World Model landscape (including JEPA) while also comparing them to other approaches for robotics applications. **FOOD UPDATE :** Google has told us that **there WILL BE** pizza at the event \-\-\- Talks will start at 7:10pm (entry at 6:45pm) and end at around 9:00pm, at which point attendees can come up to the front for a bit of a chat with each other, and the speakers. Due to some recent security incidents at the venue please take note of the new DevSpace security procedures [https://bit.ly/devspace-security](https://bit.ly/devspace-security) Attendees will not be admitted later than 15min after the talks have started. As always, we're actively looking for more speakers - both '30 minutes long-form', and lightning talks. For the lightning talks, we welcome folks to come and talk about something cool they've done with keras, PyTorch, JAX and/or Deep Learning for 5-10mins (so, if you have slides, then #max=10). We believe that the key ingredient for the success of a Lightning Talk is simply the cool/interesting factor. It doesn't matter whether you're an expert or an enthusiastic beginner: Given the responses we have had to previous talks, we're sure there are lots of people who would love to hear what you've been playing with. If you're interested in talking, please just introduce yourself to Martin at one of the events.

Two for Tuesdays 2 mile Walk Free Event
Two for Tuesdays 2 mile Walk Free Event
We’re starting Tuesday with **Two for Tuesdays**: a casual **social walk** designed to get people off the couch, **out of the house,** and actually doing something. This is a relaxed group walk at a **social pace,** covering roughly **2–3 miles**. Nothing intense. No pressure. Just good conversation, a little movement, and a **better way to spend your Tuesday** than sitting at home **scrolling your phone.** Then **after the walk,** we roll right into the **comedy the last show ever at fives on high (the bar is closing)** This is what makes the night better: you don’t just show up for one event, awkwardly stand around, then leave. You actually get time to **meet people,** loosen up, and **feel part of something** before the comedy even starts. If you’re tired of wasting your weeknights at home, this is your sign. **Spots are limited.** Great events take time and money to organize. If you find value in these events or maybe even made a new friend, consider contributing what feels fair to you. Contribution link found in comments

Many attendees register directly via our website. The event on [Meetup.com](http://meetup.com/) is only a placeholder.
