Art Journaling for Wellbeing with Sai Banerjee
Art Journaling is a fun and simple way to incorporate creativity into everyday life. An art journal is a great place to experiment and try out different approaches to art without the pressure of creating a masterpiece. It is an artistic form of self-expression – instead of using words alone; you will be using various media and different art techniques to express your creativity.
In a busy world, largely driven by technology, taking time to be creative can often seem frivolous and indulgent. But studies show that creative activities encourage positivity and significantly improve our wellbeing. Art journaling is an effective way to de-stress and practice self-care. Join us for these drop-in sessions in Art journaling with Sai, an experienced teaching artist, avid art journaler and professional calligrapher.
From simple mark making to elaborate mixed media art you will learn a variety of new skills; gain confidence in your artistic ability and develop an amazing creative habit that is both enriching and nourishing. Whether you have five minutes or half an hour to spare, Art journaling will inspire you to be creative, practice self-care and reconnect with yourself.
Each week we work with different media and techniques. Sai provides some resources, however please bring an art journal and some basic supplies with you.

'Beautiful Blackheath' Guided Walk
Come along on Sunday 12th April for a Blue Badge Guided Walk around Blackheath!
Blue Badge Guides know London better than anyone. They have trained intensively for two years and passed the highest Tourist Guiding qualification in the UK.
**About the walk**
Many people visit historic Greenwich but very few venture to its more attractive but lesser known neighbour.
The name is recorded in 1166 as *'Blachehedfeld'* and means the "dark coloured heathland". It is formed from the Old English 'blæc' and 'hǣth' and refers to the open space that was the meeting place of the ancient hundred of Blackheath.
We will hear of the historic gatherings on the Heath, the first game of golf in England, a Queen who fell out of favour, an artist who caused controversy with his cheeky postcards and the author of a classic American novel. We'll see historic 17th century almshouses, an elegant 18th century crescent where two ladies scandalised Blackheath's polite society, ground breaking mid century homes, two Victorian churches and an unusual library.
The walk is a private walk for the group, we will be guided by Blue Badge guides [Diane Burstein](https://www.guidelondon.org.uk/guides/dianeburstein/) and [Rachel Kolsky](https://www.itg.org.uk/register-of-guides/rachel-kolsky).
Rachel will be starting at 2:15pm and Diane at 2:30pm, so on the day, just come along at your chosen time.
**Getting there**
Blackheath is in Zone 3 and trains run there from Victoria. Trains take about 26 mins and depart at 1:33pm, 2:03pm.

🌳 Hiking Cotswold Villages – The Most Beautiful in Britain
#################
**This hike is now FULL.**
**We’ve created a list of [FAQs](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1e4VGmwhurmCng2cY3ZJHOS4j9ZlWKaX1/view?usp=sharing) to help answer your questions.**
#################
Come and join us for a truly magical hike to the Cotswolds to explore some of the most beautiful villages in Britain!
Think honey-coloured cottages, cosy pubs, tiny tearooms and narrow streets. The unspoilt market towns and villages of the Cotswolds have a quintessential English charm found nowhere else in the world. It really is a unique experience!
We'll begin our hike in the charming old wool merchants' town of Chipping Campden, home to one of the prettiest high streets in England. Our trail will take us to the picturesque Cotswold villages of Broadway and Snowshill, through some of the region's best scenery: rolling hills (the “wolds”), ancient woodlands and dramatic escarpments with stunning panoramic views. The entire walk is within the protected Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), the largest of the 38 AONBs in England and Wales. After the hike, we'll enjoy a well-deserved pint at the traditional 15th-century Snowshill Arms pub.
**HIKE HIGHLIGHTS**
* Visit the stunning market town of Chipping Campden, famous for its elegant terraced honey-coloured High Street, dating from the 14th century to the 17th century. Admire the imposing medieval church of St James and the 400-year-old Cotswold Market Hall.
* Discover the picture-postcard village of Broadway (known as the “Jewel of the Cotswolds”), and enjoy a leisurely lunch at one of its many charming, cosy tea rooms.
* Pass through the outstandingly beautiful, unspoilt Cotswold village of Snowshill.
* Climb Dover's Hill (230m), with its glorious views over the surrounding countryside. Dover's Hill was the site of the original English Olympic Games, which began here 400 years ago in 1612.
* Climb to the magnificent Broadway Tower, built around 1800, and enjoy unrivalled panoramic views from one of England's favourite viewpoints.
* Hike the northern section of the Cotswold Way – one of the 15 National Trails, passing through some of the most stunning and diverse landscapes in Britain.

AI is changing how art is made. But when does it stop being your work and start being the machine’s?
This month we're going to be doing a panel with with digital image, music, and written word artists, talking about at what point, while using AI in the creation process, does the work become not the artist creation?
We encourage audience participation during this event that will be moderated by Chris Slee.
Whether you’re deep in the field or just getting curious, come connect with others building and exploring AI in Columbus.
