Ultimate Frisbee Pickup! All experience welcome! Main details: • For first-timers: you're very welcome, no experience necessary, we can teach you the rules and how to play. You just need a willingness to run around a LOT! Bring trainers (or cleats/football boots) and clothes you can run in and plenty of water • Please try to bring both a light top and a dark top as this makes splitting into balanced teams easier • Throwing from 2:00pm ish, we'll kick off a friendly pick-up game around 2:15. It's fine if you can only make it later on - we play with substitutes so you can join in at any point. If no one is there when you arrive, don't worry, people are probably just late! If the meetup is not cancelled, frisbee will be happening! • Afterwards we always head to a pub garden and have a drink or two :) • Frisbee is a non-contact sport, but the occasional bumps can happen, we're all playing at our own risk

Feel the adrenaline rush as you take the controls of a light aircraft and soar across the sky above the English countryside while learning what it’s like to actually pilot a plane with this 30 Minute Flying Lesson in a Cessna airplane. You will have a 30-minute Flying lesson with an instructor, overall your individual session will be an hour as you get prepared and chat to your pilot before. We have booked for 10 lessons on the day and may be able to take a couple more based on availability. Time slots will be give out closer to the time, but overall we plan to head down together, and can get train/taxi to the venue. **About the Lesson** You’ll receive one-to-one tuition from a Civil Aviation Authority-licensed instructor, meaning you’ll have expert guidance in getting to grips with the controls during every moment in the air. You’ll have unbeatable views across the surrounding area, but we don’t blame you if you want to stay focussed on the world ahead of your windscreen as you’re thousands of feet above the ground! What you’ll learn will depend on your chosen location, but all of your flying time will still count towards a Private Pilot’s Licence should you be a budding flying hobbyist and planning to take to the skies again. Exhilarating, awe-inspiring and breath-taking all at once, this is an experience you’ll want to try again as soon as it’s over! **On the day** Your flying lesson starts with a pre-flight briefing from your qualified instructor. This will cover safety, and an introduction to some of the controls. Once in the plane, you are given headphones so that you can hear conversations between your instructor and air traffic control. You will also be able to communicate with each other so you can be guided through your first lesson. Come and spend a half day enjoying wildlife at Walthamstow Reservoir, the biggest wetland in Europe. THE EARLY BIRD CATCHES THE WORM!! Walthamstow Reservoirs are a favoured location for kingfishers. The ten reservoirs that make up this 211 hectare site are nationally and internationally recognised as significant for wildlife. **Birds**: Grey Herons and Little Egrets begin nesting in large colonies (heronries) as early as February. Come and join us for the first day of spring for a bluebells and woodland flower extravaganza - the woodlands will be starting to aliven with spring growth and the surrounding fields will be producing the first buds of their farming produce. We start in Shiplake - an ancient Viking town name for ‘ship lack’ - this was as a far as the Vikings could get their ships to their main encampment in Reading. Famous people frequented these parts - George Orwell lived in Shiplake, the English poet Alfred Tennyson got married in Shiplake Church and Elizabeth I’s treasure is buried near Rotherfield Greys. The real gem will be the spring flowers that will be budding throughout as we walk over fields and into woodland with some splendid views of the River Thames. We will visit a National Trust 16th century house - Greys Court - for afternoon tea as we meander back to Henley for a drink by the River Thames.
