The school was founded in the middle of the 15th century by Iizasa Chōisai Ienao at the Katori Shrine (Katori jingū) and has become the origin of numerous other martial arts schools over the course of its almost 600-year history. The training consists of the continuous repetition of fixed sequences of movements (kata) and includes the use of classic Japanese weapons such as the sword (iai-jutsu, battō-jutsu, ken-jutsu, ryōtō-jutsu, kodachi-jutsu), the long staff (bō-jutsu), the lance (naginata-jutsu) and the spear (sō-jutsu), as well as unarmed disciplines, tactics and spiritual aspects. **The Katori Berlin dojo** is the only official shibu of Otake Nobutoshi-shihan’s dojo Shinbukan in Germany and fully dedicated to the transmission and study of one martial tradition: Tenshinshō-den Katori Shintō-ryū. Through these efforts we aim to contribute to the cultural preservation of this martial tradition. The dojo has one officially appointed shidosha. **Our sensei**: Sebastian Graetz has been active in martial arts since 1997. After almost 15 years of taekwondo in Berlin, he started with Katori Shintō-ryū in Asia in 2014. Since then, he has studied in Japan with Ōtake Risuke-shihan and Ōtake Nobutoshi-shihan, and in Vietnam with Malte Stokhof-shihandai. In 2023, he received his Menkyo license and permission to set up a training group in Berlin the following year.

Berlin producer, DJ and 343 Labs instructor Matthew Martinez gives an overview of producing music with Ableton Live including building a beat from scratch. Learn why Ableton Live is such a popular software among electronic music producers. This workshop is designed for beginners, or people who have produced with other software and are interested in getting started with Ableton. There are no prerequisites to joining, we'll meet you at the start of you music production journey. Member CZECH STRINGS — a multi-genre DJ with 10+ years of experience — walks You through everything You need to know to make Your first mix. No prior knowledge of DJing, music theory, or equipment is required. Zero. ‍ #### **What the workshop covers:** The session starts with the essentials: what a DJ actually does, what their role is, and how it all comes together. From there, CZECH STRINGS explains the gear using the decks available at the spot as a live example, applicable to any DJ setup You might encounter in the future. ‍ #### **You will learn the core technical skills needed for Your first transition:** \* Beatmatching — how to align two tracks in tempo \* Cueing — how to prepare the next track for a seamless entry \* Track structure and phrasing — understanding how tracks are built so You know when to mix The teaching happens live from behind the DJ decks. With the Superbooth trade show bringing many audio enthusiasts and professionals to Berlin, we're seizing the opportunity to host a larger gathering. This month, we're moving to a bigger venue, **ForumFactory**, to accommodate up to 200 attendees, with a special focus on networking and community connection. We have an exciting line-up featuring two talks from industry experts: * **Juanpe Bolívar - CTO at BRONZE** (long talk) In this talk we'll learn about persistence (immutable) data-structures and how they can be used to implement novel software architectures that make our software more efficient and responsive, but also easier to understand and modify. We will also how to efficiently persist these data structures across sessions, a novel technique in Immer, unseen in other implementations, that open the door to all new use-cases.
