Natural Embodiment Sessions: A Gently Guided Nature Experience
**About the experience: 🍃༄**
Winding things down in December creates the perfect rhythm to immerse yourself in nature. This practice of **natural embodiment** **is a not a hike nor is it meant to be therapy** \- it is a slow\, reflective\, and embodied practice\.
During the session, we move at an unhurried pace and pause often. Through nature-inspired invitations, such as listening to the sand, holding a natural object, or resting in stillness — we allow nature to meet us where we are, without trying to fix or force anything.
This practice draws on somatic awareness, gentle attention, and non-linear exploration. Experiences may feel calming, emotional, grounding, or quietly insightful — each person’s experience will be different.
There is no expectation to perform, share, or achieve anything. You are welcome to arrive exactly as you are.
This session is open to anyone who feels drawn to slow down and listen — to themselves, to nature, and to what emerges in the space between. 🌳
**Date:** Saturday, 27 December 2025
**Time:** 5.30pm-7:00pm
**Location:** Starbucks - Parkland Green, East Coast Park
**Registration:** Through [meetup.com](http://meetup.com/) or Eventbrite
**On donations:**
A recommended donation of $20 has been established for this event. Learning from past events, it was suggested that a flat fee was given so that things are simpler, so here I am trying that!

**Things to bring:**
\- Water Bottle
\- Comfortable clothes for the forest
\- Sun protections \(hat\, sunscreen\, etc\.\)
\- Repellents \(optional\)
\- Umbrella/Poncho \(optional\)
\- Small snack \(optional\)
**About me:**
My dream is to reignite our connection with nature and bring us city folk closer to nature and ourselves! In my previous work, I partnered with horses and nature to conduct experiential sessions. My certifications are a unique blend of having a social work degree, Equine Assisted Learning and Coaching certifications, and various experiential courses in natural spaces around the world. Okay, that's all I'll write about myself :p
**Q&A:**
Where do we meet?
* We'll start at 5.30pm and meet meet around Starbucks in Parkland Green. I should be standing there awkwardly, probably in blue track pants.
Is this Forest Therapy?
* It can be, if that is what the experience means to you. I do not claim to facilitate Forest Therapy as that is not my training or intention. This is purely my own craft and passion, led by my heart and expertise. Therapy puts power outside you - but I believe that power, and nature, resides in you.
Is this religious?
* I come without religious leanings. However, you are free to integrate religion into your experience! I often find these experiences step between the physical and spiritual realm, and that can exist outside of religion.
What if it rains?
* If it rains, it depends what you want to do. If you need shelter, we will go to a suitable spot. If you want to dance in the rain, I'm sure the rain will only welcome you :)

December Book Club/White Elephant Book Exchange
Welcome, readers! ❄️
Our December read is **_A Quiet Life by Ethan Joella._**
A Quiet Life by Ethan Joella is a tender, character-driven novel that follows three people in a small Pennsylvania town as they each cope with loss and seek connection. Chuck, a widower, struggles to find meaning after his wife’s death; Ella, a young woman, faces the heartbreak of her missing daughter; and Kirsten, a veterinary technician, grieves her father while contemplating her future. Their stories intertwine gently, revealing how grief and hope coexist—and how even small acts of kindness can help people rediscover purpose and peace in the aftermath of tragedy.
Looking forward to discussing with everyone!
At this meeting, our third annual White Elephant book exchange will take place!
If you'd like to participate, bring a gift-wrapped book that you already own. On the gift wrap, write the genre of the book.
We will meet at Zaftig Brewing Co in their event room in the back. We are welcome to bring in our own food, but **drinks must be purchased at the bar.**
Happy reading! 📖
Soul of an Octopus
We will be having an open discussion of the book "the Soul of an Octopus" by Sy Montgomery.

The Lion in Bexley
Take a break from the craziness of the holiday season and relax at The Lion with us.
This is an new (to me) place in Bexley that serves cocktails, beer and wine, coffee, tea, pastries, snacks, caviar--a little bit of everything. The cocktail they made for The Drexel to sell for screenings of "Wicked For Good" was one of the best cocktails I've ever had. Their tea list is also impressive. Take special note of the Emperor's Private Reserve Pu-erh!
https://www.thelionbexley.com/menu
I don't know how large the place is, so it's possible we might find places to sit, or we might need to stand. This is an informal event to explore this interesting location.
