However, we are not doing the usual short trail to the summit, instead we are doing a butterfly trail (somewhat of a loop) as training, where it'll be \~9-10km and 5-7h of hiking in total. **Background** Gunung Lambak (510m) is an extremely popular 1-day beginner hike located in Malaysia, about 2 hours from Singapore. Many locals and Singaporeans DIY this hike. It also acts as a good starting hike and introduction to trekking for beginners or first-timers, and often used as a good training hike for those experienced who extend the trails! **The Hike** The hike takes an average of 6-8h in total. We'll head to the summit -> Microwave Station -> Big Tree -> Summit (lunch stop) -> Starting Point. Its the butterfly trail because of how it looks like when you log it on your GPS (e.g. Strava etc) There are some steep parts which can be challenging and strenuous and requires using your hands. Additionally, there are minor rope sections. This trek can be challenging for beginners so be prepared for a fun adventurous experience. The summit has a slight view of the city but not much of a view. Enjoy the breezy forest trek down before heading for a meal or free and easy activities. .
