Farewell toast to Raul @ Splendid Piano Bar from 21.00
With a heavy heart and profound sadness I have to report the passing of a very good friend of mine Mr. Raul Heiduk who many of you know in the Expat Community
He was a frequent visitor to Expat events and a regular member of my Meetup group events .
I travelled extensively with him to visit his homes in Spain, Thailand, and Brazil. Unfortunately after the last trip in November he came down with very bad back pain and a massive nosebleed here in Zurich. After undergoing a series of tests they discovered he had advanced liver cancer. Initially the chemo seemed to be working and encouraging but gradually he started to deteriorate to a point where recently they said they could do no more for him. He has always been a proud independent man and decided to go for assisted suicide which is Legal in Switzerland. Consequently on Monday 9th February at 15.00 I was there with him till the end and he passed away without any pain and with his dignity and respect still intact.
I will be eternally grateful to him for being such a good friend especially during my dark times when I lost my brother and father to Covid
He helped me so much by being able to hack into my brotherâs PC within a matter of seconds
He was a genius in IT and all things related to Microsoft Windows, he saved me months and months of detective work and because of him I was able to hang onto my job and to my life in Switzerland and now ultimately my retirement in Switzerland
So I thank you Raul for being such a good friend to me throughout our 13th years of acquaintance,
Iâm sure up there on the otherside you will be enjoying your Camparis and Caiperinhos.
So I wish you farewell my friend and will always remember the incredible memories from the past.
Rest in Peace my friend.

ZH3 Hash #1708: Post Valentine's Piss-up
Hares are **One Night Wonder** and **Big Top**.
Still recovering from roses, romance, or catastrophic Tinder decisions? Come hash it off at the ZH3 Sunday hash. You can expect a mildly enthusiastic winter trail, romantic false trails, committment-phobe checks, boozy schoggi, cold beer, and well, being cold âď¸.
And because nothing heals a broken heart like Guinness, crisps and loud, drunken over-sharing, we will congregate the nearby Irish Pub for the On-After! Hope to see you there â¤ď¸âď¸
**Where**:
Wollishofenplatz. Look for English speakers wearing running gear.
**When:**
We'll meet at 1:45 pm to start at 2:00 pm.
There's a charge of CHF 5 for participating, which covers all you can drink beer/cider (and non-alcoholic alternatives) plus snacks afterwards.
**All Welcome:**
If you are new, curious, and want to get out of the house, stretch your legs, talk shit, enjoy a drink, and hopefully a laugh, then here's what you need to know:
⢠We are a social running/walking group, physical fitness is not required, but a sense of humour is.
⢠The aim is to find the '*Beer Stop*' at the end of the '*trail*' and have fun.
⢠'True Trail' is typically 4-7 km. Some will go less (especially those walking or walk/running), and some over-achieving fast runners will go further.
⢠The '*Hare*', which changes each event (along with location), cleverly lays the trail (typically with flour marks) so that everyone reaches the end at the same time.
⢠There is always a place to deposit your bag and sometimes a place to change.
⢠**After Trail**, we group for \~20-40 minutes for drinks, snacks, and some fun. This '*Circle*' is typically outside, so leave something warm in your bag in winter (and bring a flashlight when it's dark). If you don't want to stand around drinking afterwards, you can head home. We occasionally all go to a restaurant afterwards.
**Why bother leaving your warm & dry sofa?**
If you enjoy getting outside, being around people, and doing something a bit different, you will probably enjoy hashing. Exercise is important, and this is probably the least boring way to get it.
'Hashing' and the idea of some physical activity to work up a thirst, have been around for almost 90 years and there are groups (*Hashes*) in most major cities. Its humor and 'traditions' can be explored on the internet - **or you can just come along and find out.** *See you there.*
We are of many nationalities, all ages, full of misfits and idiots (at least there is no one taking themselves seriously!) and always welcome newbies 'Virgin Hashers' and visitors from other groups.

Algorithmic Trading & Crypto
## (Lesson 2)
## What to expect
Project Equilibrium is an in-person introduction to disciplined, rule-based trading automation. This first event is designed to be clear, practical, and approachable no hype, no pressure, and no prior technical background required.
### Why we meet (two-session structure)
This meetup is structured as **two lessons**:
**Lesson 1 â The âWhyâ (mindset + framework)**
* What Project Equilibrium is (and what it is not)
* Why we focus on process, rules, and execution discipline
* What â24/7 executionâ means in practice
* Q&A and open discussion
**Lesson 2 â The âHowâ (step-by-step setup)**
* A simple walkthrough of the basic tools you need
* Step-by-step guidance to install and prepare the required exchange apps/accounts
* A clear checklist to be ready for future sessions
(You wonât be left aloneâeverything is explained calmly and in order.)
### What to bring
To make the second lesson smooth, please bring:
* **A smartphone** (for authentication and exchange app setup)
* **A laptop** (for the setup steps and configuration)
If you only have one device, you can still join Lesson 1. The setup lesson is simply easier with both.
### Who this is for
* People curious about algorithmic execution and portfolio discipline
* Beginners who want a structured approach
* Experienced traders who want more consistency and less stress
### Agenda
* Welcome + introductions
* Lesson focus of the day (Why / How)
* Guided walkthrough (where applicable)
* Q&A + next steps
### How to find the group
* Arrive a few minutes early and look for the **Project Equilibrium** group.
* I will be there to welcome attendees if youâre unsure, simply ask the venue staff for the Meetup group name.

Shut Up & Write! Kingsdale Shopping Center
Greetings writers! Come down and join your fellow wordsmiths for one hour of uninterrupted writing time in the upper level of the Market District Supermarket in Upper Arlington.
The main entrance of the shopping center opens onto stairs/elevator leading up to the 2nd floor cafe section where we will have a table displaying a sign with the Shut Up & Write logo.
Writing is largely a solitary craft. Practicing with others in a community setting may be the thing you need to fire your own routine.

Please try to RSVP if possible so that we may grab enough seats for allâthe venue can be busy at times.
Feel free to message me privately wth any questions and/ or concerns you may have.
Happy writing!
Speak Easy (Storytelling)
The topic for February is "Transitions"
Speak Easy: true stories, told live.
The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast.
Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect.
The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome. Hang around after the show for a drink and build community!
