Task-Buddies ✅ & Brunch 🥐: Let's work and study together! 📖 💻 ✍️
Welcome to the **Task-Buddies** event of the **Zürich Productivity Circle**, where we bring together like-minded individuals to work on personal goals and share the experience of growth in a supportive community.
Maybe you are building a business or side hustle, studying for a course, learning a new (programming) language, figuring the tax system out, writing code, prose, or poetry, researching new stocks for your portfolio, tackling your German homework, or upskilling for your job. In all of these cases and more, this is the perfect space for you.
In fact, productivity does not end there. Even if you just want to read a psychology book to resolve a personal struggle, sketch a mountain, listen to podcasts, organize your week, respond to unanswered emails and messages, enjoy a novel, or just reflect and meditate, you are very welcome here.
For any task that adds positively to your life and can be done sitting down with others (exception: anything noisy/disruptive/disrespectful), you will fit into the events.
We will meet at a work-friendly café in Zürich and follow the agenda below.
**Agenda:**
* **Introductions and food (20-30 mins):** Start with a round of introductions to get to know each other and share what we'll be working on, buy our food and drinks.
* **Productive Work Session (1-2 hours)** Dive into your individual tasks in a focussed, distraction-free environment.
* **Collective Break and Socializing (\~15 mins):** Take a planned break to stretch, chat, get more coffee, and share insights about your projects.
* **Continued Work Session (1-2 hours):** Get back to your tasks with renewed focus and motivation.
* **Wrap-Up and Reflections (15+ mins):** Conclude with a reflection on what we accomplished, share productivity tips or questions, discuss plans for future meetups, stay back for more chit chat if you like.
**What to Bring:**
* Your project or task materials (laptop, charger, books, sketchpad, pen, etc.)
* Respectful and kind demeanour
* A positive attitude and a willingness to share and learn
**Note:** Please ensure that your tasks are suitable for a quiet, communal setting. We aim to maintain a respectful and conducive environment for everyone. **Venue Courtesy:** Out of courtesy for the venue, please order something drinks for yourself. This helps support the café and ensures we can continue to use their space for our meetups.
Together at Zurich National Animal Rights Day 2026 🐾
After a two-year pause, the National Animal Rights Day (NARD) (https://thenard.org/) is returning to Zürich!
The NARD is a global day of remembrance and solidarity: a moment for people in cities around the world to come together, pause, and collectively acknowledge and commemorate the immense scale of animal suffering that takes place, largely out of sight, in our everyday world.
It is also an affirmation that another way of living is possible.
For many of us, such gatherings serve as a reminder of why we care, and that there exists a community that stands for the same principles. Alongside commemoration, it also includes a celebration of the progress that is being made towards reducing animal suffering.
This is a **legally registered, peaceful demonstration** to stand up for animal rights. It’s **not** a disruptive or confrontational protest. The atmosphere is calm, respectful, and welcoming to everyone.
👥 ***Our Meetup Plan***
Going to an event like this on your own can feel intimidating and overwhelming 😬. It’s easy to feel unsure about where to stand, who to talk to, or whether you’ll end up alone in the crowd.
That’s why we’re going together in a supportive, like-minded group of familiar faces to talk to, walk with, and share the energy of the day 💬🌱.
Let's meet directly at **Züghusplatz at 13.45.** The demonstration takes place 14.00-16.00. If there is enough interest after, we can also go for a drink or food together.

❓***FAQ***
***Do I need to be vegan to join?***
No. If you care about animals and believe they deserve compassion and protection, you’re welcome. Even if you're just curious, coming along can a novel chance to see what these kinds of demonstrations are really like, to hear what people around the world care about 🌍, and to reflect on where you stand.
***Is this one of those disruptive protests?***
No 🚫. The march is fully legal and registered with the city.
***I’m shy / quiet / not the activist type. Is this still for me?***
Yes. You don’t need to be loud, extroverted, or used to activism to take part. Just being there is already a meaningful act of solidarity.
Note: I am not an official organiser of the demonstration, the original event posting can be found at

Pulp Non-Fiction: True Stories Told Live, in English
One night only this Saturday: **Pulp Non-Fiction** is a live storytelling show where comedians and everyday storytellers share true stories from their own lives, all performed in English.
**[Reserve your seat](https://eventfrog.ch/de/p/gruppen/pulp-non-fiction-storytelling-open-mic-zurich-7447274382609654226.html)**
Humans have been telling each other stories for millennia. This is that ancient tradition, kept alive with a microphone and a drink in hand. Expect the strange, the surreal and the very funny, as host and local comedian Albert Louw brings together storytellers from all kinds of backgrounds and countries, each with a true tale you won't hear anywhere else.
If you're visiting the city, new in town or just curious, it's an easy and welcoming night out. **No Swiss German needed**, no audience participation required: just settle in with a drink and listen. It's also a relaxed way to meet people if you're on your own, since storytelling crowds tend to be a chatty bunch.
Admission is free. Donations are appreciated, but what matters most is your presence. Seats are limited, so reserve your spot in advance to make sure you get in.
Pulp Non-Fiction is part of [IN YOUR FACE Comedy](https://inyourfacecomedy.ch), running English-language live shows in Zürich since 2018.

Uetliberg Design Networking Hike
**A creative walk & talk for designers and creatives**
Join us for a half-day walk and talk along the scenic Uetliberg ridge, designed to connect outside the usual networking format.
No presentations. No panels. Just great people, ideas, and a shared path.
We start at Triemli Station and hike up through the forest to Uto Staffel (about 1.5 hours), guided by [Mario Stipetic](https://www.linkedin.com/in/mariostipetic/). From there, we continue into a relaxed 1 to 1.5 hour ridge walk along the Planetenweg with views over Zürich, the lake, and the Alps.
Conversations unfold naturally along the way. We move in small groups, rotate, and share thoughts on current projects, creative challenges, and topics like AI in design, or whatever emerges in the moment.
We end at Gut Mädikon Hofcafé, a hidden farm café, where we spend about one hour enjoying coffee, homemade cake, and relaxed conversation.
This is networking without the pressure. Just movement, fresh air, and meaningful exchange.
See you there! 😇
**WhatsApp Group (Coordination)**
We’ll send the WhatsApp invite after you RSVP.
You can also join via Discord below.
——
**The Easy Route**
Prefer to skip the steep climb? Take the S10 train from Zürich HB to Uetliberg (about 20 minutes), then walk down to Uto Staffel and meet us there around 11:00 AM. Timing will be coordinated via the group on the day.
**Getting Back**
We walk back along the ridge to Uetliberg, either retracing the Planetenweg or taking the path near the Uetliberg tower. From there, walk down to Triemli station and catch the train home.
**Physical Fitness**
The initial climb takes about 1.5 hours and is steep, requiring a reasonable level of fitness. If you are unsure, take the easy route. The views are the same, and the Hofcafé cake tastes just as good.

If your plans change and you can no longer attend, please update your RSVP so we can adjust the reservation at the Hofcafé.

\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\ \*USUAL BLA BLA BLA BELOW \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*
**All Welcome:**
If you are new, curious, and want to get out of the house, stretch your legs, talk shit, enjoy a drink, and hopefully a laugh, then here's what you need to know:
• We are a social running/walking group, physical fitness is not required, but a sense of humour is useful.
• The aim is to find the '*Beer Stop*' at the end of the '*trail*' and have fun.
• 'True Trail' is typically 4-7 km. Some will go less (especially those walking or walk/running), and some over-achieving fast runners will go further.
• The '*Hare*', which changes each event (along with location), cleverly lays the trail (typically with flour marks) so that everyone reaches the end at the same time.
• There is always a place to deposit your bag and sometimes a place to change.
• **After Trail**, we group for \~20-40 minutes for drinks, snacks, and some fun. This '*Circle*' is typically outside, so leave something warm in your bag in winter (and bring a flashlight when it's dark). If you don't want to stand around drinking afterwards, you can head home. We occasionally all go to a restaurant afterwards.
**Why bother leaving your warm & dry sofa?**
If you enjoy getting outside, being around people, and doing something a bit different, you will probably enjoy hashing. Exercise is important, and this is probably the least boring way to get it.
'Hashing' and the idea of some physical activity to work up a thirst, have been around for almost 90 years and there are groups (*Hashes*) in most major cities. Its humor and 'traditions' can be explored on the internet - **or you can just come along and find out.** *See you there.*
We are of many nationalities, all ages, full of misfits and idiots (at least there is no one taking themselves seriously!) and always welcome newbies 'Virgin Hashers' and visitors from other groups.

Shut Up & Write!™ Easton Town Center
We'll meet at The Capital One Café, 167 Easton Town Center, Space A-103. This is in the main mall where the Microsoft store used to be, on your left if you're standing at the bottom of the AMC Theater escalator.
Join us on Saturday for an hour of uninterrupted wordmaking!
• What we'll do
Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 10AM on Saturday mornings.
Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.
SCHEDULE:
10:00 - SESSION 1: quick intros.
10:10 - timer starts: write for 1 hour.
11:10 - chat / take off / keep writing.
OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 11A-11:30ish. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.
BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session. (I’ll be the person with the Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.
Happy writing and I look forward to seeing you!
• What to bring
Whatever you need to be able to write!
Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block noise or the occasional conversation by other patrons. Electrical outlets are limited, so charge your devices before whenever possible.
See you at The Café on Saturday!
Shut Up & Write! Kingsdale Shopping Center
Greetings writers! Come down and join your fellow wordsmiths for one hour of uninterrupted writing time in the upper level of the Market District Supermarket in Upper Arlington.
The main entrance of the shopping center opens onto stairs/elevator leading up to the 2nd floor cafe section where we will have a table displaying a sign with the Shut Up & Write logo.
Writing is largely a solitary craft. Practicing with others in a community setting may be the thing you need to fire your own routine.
We’ll meet on Wednesday evenings, starting the clock at 6:30, following a brief period of introductions. This is solid writing time and all inclusive. Any project is acceptable, be it fiction, non -fiction, work or homework assignment. All is welcome and will remain private to you.

Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.
**SCHEDULE:**
6:45ish - Quick introductions
7:00 - Timer starts: write for 1 hour

Bad Girls Book Club June 2026
**Our June novel is: *The Eights* by Joanna Miller**
**This month’s novel is set during World War I. It’s a 20th-century historical fiction story about friendship and war, with coming-of-age elements and a slightly haunted tone. The book is 384 pages in print and 10 hours and 9 minutes on audiobook.**
Oxford, 1920. For the first time in its one-thousand-year history, Oxford University officially admits female students. Burning with dreams of equality, four young women move into neighboring rooms in Corridor 8. Beatrice, Dora, Marianne, and Otto—collectively known as The Eights—come from all walks of life, each driven by their own motives, each holding tight to their secrets, and are thrown into an unlikely, unshakable friendship.
Dora was never meant to go to university, but, after losing both her brother and her fiancé on the battlefield, has arrived in their place. Politically-minded Beatrice, daughter of a famous suffragette, sees Oxford as a chance to make her own way - and some friends her own age. Otto was a nurse during the war but is excited to return to her socialite lifestyle in Oxford where she hopes to find distraction from the memories that haunt her. And finally Marianne, the quiet, clever daughter of a village pastor, who has a shocking secret she must hide from everyone, even her new friends, if she is to succeed.
Among the historic spires, and in the long shadow of the Great War, the four women must navigate and support one another in a turbulent world in which misogyny is rife, influenza is still a threat, and the ghosts of the Great War don’t always remain dead.
