In the first 30 minutes of class, Qi Gong(5 organ and spirit enlivening)exercises are taught. In the last hour, the class is divided into beginner, intermediate and advanced groups and are taught Lao (old) Yang Tai Chi Chuan.

New year, new beginnings! We’ll be visiting some old friends for our first get together of the year; Denizens Brewing! We’ve been hanging with the kids from DBC since they opened their Silver Spring location (RIP) in 2014. We’ve done tours & tastings, they hosted our annual holiday party (twice!), and we even did a chip pairing with housemade chips. This is a great class for beginner to intermediate players looking to get into bluegrass. Students will learn the basic chords and melody of one or 2 classic Bluegrass songs and how to approach playing them in a jam setting. Over the course of about an hour the class will play the tunes several times as a group exploring different possibilities for kickoffs, solos, endings and more. At the end of the class we open up the jam!
