People use Sea swimming for its healing salt properties,it washes viruses, bacteria and cleanse your skin amongst other things due to the sea salt content. There has been a large increase in people going swimming these last years. Scuba diving also refreshes your mind like hiking to start a new fresh day and a new work week. Anyone thinking about doing scuba diving this would be a good starting point for you.
As usual this is a sporting event, so when you RSVP and attend this course, every person is directly responsible for their own health and saftey and accept full responsibilty.

Stoney Writers Group
The goal of this group is simple: to support and encourage each other to write more (myself included).
I love writing short stories, but too often life gets in the way and I find excuses not to do it. This monthly group gathers together on the last Tuesday of every month in the lovely *Third Space* cafe in Smithfield to share and get feedback on our work.
We’ll each get the chance to share an extract from a piece we’ve written, read it aloud and get feedback (in a nice quiet creative space). Any form of writing is great – whether screenwriting, poetry, flash fiction or something else.
We pride ourselves in promoting a really friendly, safe space to share freely, but if you’d prefer to listen for the first while, that’s cool too.
If you fancy coming along:
* RSVP to an event
* Come along to a session
* Get added to our WhatsApp group once you're there
* Add a copy of your piece to our shared drive (so we can follow along as you read)
* You'll get 4 mins to read your work, and 4 mins of feedback
We have lots of regulars but always love welcoming new people, perspectives and writing, so do feel free to come along and I hope you enjoy it!

After Work Wednesday's!
Get over the mid week slump and come down to meet some new faces and relax. We try and go to a different bar every week and you can join us anytime after 18:30.
**How to find the group?**
\*We have an area reserved just for us so if you are new and unsure please ask any of the bar staff for the area reserved under the organisers name or if completely lost on the night please contact the event host and they'll come and find you.
**How does it work?**
\*After finding the group either the organiser will approach you and ask if you are looking for the meetup or you can just ask anyone "Is this the meetup?" and normally that is a great conversation opener to join the group. After that it's up to you what you make of the event. That is pretty much it. Easy right? We normally encourage people to stand as it's much easier to mingle that way.
**Nervous about coming to the event?**
\*While it's quite intimidating meeting a bunch of strangers from the internet we are a very welcoming group. We normally look out for new people and remember that everyone in the group has been new in the group at one point. If are you'd like extra help just contact the event host on the night.
**Interested in helping out?**
\*Let me (Éamonn) know as it would be greatly appreciated.
**Something happened?**
\*Please report it to the organiser as we cannot do anything to prevent it from happening again if we don't know about it. Even if it's something small please let the organiser know as they are probably unaware.
We aim to have the location up by Monday afternoon before the event. The bars we go to are all based in the city centre.
**See you on Wednesday!**
TouchDesigner Meetup Dublin @ TOG HACKERSPACE
We are hosting an open **TouchDesigner** meetup with demos, hands-on learning, and space to share work with others using the software. This is part of a series of monthly events in collaboration with **[@noid_lab](https://www.instagram.com/noid_lab/)** typically on the last Wednesday each month in the space, so this month it's 1st July, 7-10pm.
**Tickets are free** \- but registration is required to secure your place\. [Click here to register](https://www.eventbrite.com/e/touchdesigner-meetup-dublin-tickets-1989876226359)
**Workshops:**
This month's event will focus on MIDI integration in TouchDesigner, exploring how MIDI data can be used to control visuals, trigger events, manipulate parameters, and connect external hardware to interactive and audiovisual systems. Through demonstrations, we'll look at practical workflows for working with MIDI devices.
**Format:**
The session will run for around three hours in a relaxed, hands-on setting. With multiple rooms available at TOG Hackerspace, we can host beginner and advanced activities simultaneously, ensuring everyone gets the most out of the evening. The event will focus on learning, with a combination of scheduled short and long presentations/demonstrations.
### **Format**
The session will run for around three hours in a relaxed, hands-on setting.
The event will focus on learning, with a combination of scheduled short and long presentations/demonstrations. The last hour will take a more flattened and open approach, allowing the space for people to chat, share, learn, and explore TouchDesigner.
Expect an informal, community-driven environment where the format adapts to participants. So if you would like to bring your laptop and learn the basics, share your projects, or connect with other using the software, this meetup offers a welcoming and supportive space to do so.
The event is also a great opportunity to meet other creative technologists and artists, and to continue building the growing the digital art community in Ireland.
Contact us at noidlab.collective@gmail.com to share ideas for future sessions or to express interest in presenting your work.
A special thanks to TOG for allowing **[@noidlab](https://www.instagram.com/noid_lab/)** to use the space for these events, and **[Derivative](https://www.instagram.com/touchdesigner/)** for supporting the project. The meetups are hosted each month by a group of artists and creative technologists.
Figure Painting in Oils // A 3 Day Workshop with Artist Nicholas Robinson
## Figure Painting in Oils // A 3 Day Workshop with Artist Nicholas Robinson // Friday July 3 - Sunday July 5
**BOOK HERE - https://www.tickettailor.com/events/skillsets/2179557**
Painting the figure has always been a staple exercise in learning the craft of oil painting, and this 3 day workshop covers the core skills required. This class is ideal for those looking to start their exploration into the art of Figure Painting, or for the more experienced artist who wants to improve their fundamentals. Nick Robinson (Florence Academy prize winner 2012 & 2013, Zurich Portrait Prize Finalist 2019 & 2021) will instruct in the visual method: translating what we observe from life into oil painting on the canvas.
We will explore the materials involved, some theory and preparation for the model. The rest of the session will be comprised of working from the nude in one single-pose painting over the 3 days. By the completion of the course participants will have a clear understanding of the techniques and steps involved in painting the figure, as well as increased levels of observational skill. No prior experience is necessary, only a strong interest in painting from life.
**Course Fee: €350**
\* Some materials will be provided, though a small materials list will be sent to each participant.
***Your Tutor:***
Nicholas is a Florence Academy of Art prize winner and graduate.
Nicholas finished his post-graduate studies at Ireland’s National College of Art & Design (NCAD) in 2009, having previously graduated from the Crawford College of Art & Design, Cork. He was introduced to the American ateliers in Florence, in which students study exclusively from life, by the Irish painter Gearoid Hayes.
Subsequently Nicholas quit his teaching career and attended the Florence Academy of Art, Sweden under the tutelage of the Swedish painter Joakim Ericsson. Nicholas received a pair of drawing awards during his time at the school in Sweden and returned to Ireland in 2013. He is now exhibiting nationally, and works and teaches out of in his studio in Wicklow.
