Tuesday Foodclub
We are a group of people meeting on Tuesdays to socialize around cooking and eating together. Usually around 40-50 people. Many are international students, but also other people join. The foodclub exist independent of Meetup, we invite you because we have room for a few more people.
The food is vegan and made from donated leftover veggies from a local greengrocery.
The place has originally hosted leftwing activist groups, and many of the people joining are also involved in political groups.
If you want to join for chopping and cooking, we will be doing that from 3 to 6 pm. It is possible to join part of the time.
From 6 to 8pm we are serving food. Donation around 30 kroner. If you are helping out some hours, chopping, cooking or cleaning, you can eat for free.
From 8 to 9 - 9:30 pm we are cleaning up the place.
We hope to see you in our lovely foodclub <3

**Silvers is a project of dinners hosted by the senior generation.** To give people access to the authentic stories and knowledge of senior people. Based in Copenhagen.
Every Silvers Dinner is hosted by someone who has lived a full life and wants to share what they have learned through time.
Now, they open their homes for a few guests at a time to share a homemade meal and life inspiration.
***
**This next evening takes place at Claire’s home by the lakes in Østerbro.**
Claire is a Jamaican artist, teacher, and storyteller who has lived in Denmark for over 30 years. She is part of the senior generation and brings decades of experience. She is one of the most creative minds we have been lucky enough to meet with this project, always thinking of what she can invent or create from scratch.
The evening includes a homemade Jamaican meal, Jamaican coffee (and optionally rum), and desserts like coconut drops and biscuits. You’ll eat together while Claire plays Jamaican music and presents stories from her life in Jamaica.
At some point during the evening, Claire will move on to guide a small creative crafts activity, a chance to work with your hands, continue the conversation, and be guided by Claire's passion and expertise. The atmosphere is informal, curious, and shaped by own Claire’s life experience and perspective.
***
**Price disclaimer:**
The ticket costs 400 DKK. The majority of the price goes directly to the host for food, preparation, materials and hosting. It also supports the development of Silvers as a small, independent project creating new Silvers experiences.

Shut Up & Write!™ Copenhagen
Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at our Copenhagen Shut Up & Write! sessions.
Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, résumé, melody, poem, or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.
SCHEDULE:
- 15 minutes of hellos and getting settled; maybe some quick intros.
- Then, the timer starts! : writing for 1 hour.
- After the hour is up... chat / take off / keep writing, if you're on a roll.
OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens once the hour of writing is complete. Writing can be very solitary... connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.
It's best to be on time, but BEING LATE IS ALSO OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check in with us after the session. (We’ll be the ones with the small Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.
What Should I Bring?
Whatever you need to be able to write!
Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block the cafe’s overhead music or the occasional conversation by other patrons.
NEW YEAR in Transilvania: Road Trip, Castles and Beers
Are you tired of the usual expensive and boring New Year's Eve parties? Join us for a unique adventure to start 2026! 🎆
I'm Francesco, a biologist and explorer. I have organized a 7-day trip to Romania (Dec 30 - Jan 6) that combines an authentic Urban NYE with a wild Road Trip into the heart of Transylvania.
🗺️ THE PLAN
PART 1: The Urban Warm-up (Dec 30 - Jan 1) 📍 Timișoara: We will explore the "Little Vienna" of Romania.
No tourist traps: we’ll hunt for hidden Jazz Clubs, drink fresh unpasteurized beer at the factory, and explore the communist history.
NYE Night: We celebrate in the main square with the locals and fireworks, then move to a cool pub to welcome the new year.
PART 2: Into the Wild Road Trip (Jan 1 - Jan 5) We pick up our car and head to the mountains! 🚗
🦬 Wildlife: We’ll track European Bisons in the snow at the Hațeg Reserve.
🏰 Gothic Vibes: Visit Corvin Castle (one of the spookiest and most beautiful castles in Europe).
❄️ Snow & Trekking: Base in Sibiu (Medieval city) + a day of accessible winter hiking in Păltiniș.
🧊 The Ice Hotel: Driving the legendary Transfăgărășan Road up to the frozen Bâlea Waterfall to see the famous Hotel of Ice.
👀 WHO IS THIS FOR? I'm looking for 2-3 chill, open-minded travel buddies (20-40s). If you prefer nature, good conversations, and a snowy adventure over a chaotic disco, you are the perfect fit!
💰 COSTS & LOGISTICS I have already arranged the logistics (Car Rental + Itinerary).
Style: Low-cost but smart (Hostels/Guesthouses).
Budget: We share the costs (Fuel/Food) and there is a fixed fee that covers the Car Rental and Accommodation for the whole week.
📅 DATES: Dec 30th to Jan 6th. 📍 MEETING POINT: Timișoara.
👉 HOW TO JOIN: This is a small group (max 4 people in the car). Send me a direct message here on Meetup or contact me on IG: pangolin_travel.
Coffee Talk
Fulfillment. Joy. – Do you know what it is? Do you feel it now?
Many of us are living lives that have “just sort of happened”. We had a dream, a vision (maybe we still do) for what we wanted our lives to look like. Somewhere along the way, life took over and something else ended up happening. We made decisions, took a turn down a path, and now our life isn’t what we thought it would be.
Or we’re living someone else’s life. Maybe it’s what our parent’s wanted for us. What we believe our partner or a potential partner might want. Or maybe it’s what we believe we need to do and have to be happy. I was one of these people. My life checked all the boxes for what I thought I needed in order to be happy. And still, I wasn’t.
Join me for a coffee talk on what it means to live a Life By Design. Where your choices are deliberate and based on your authentic, true self. What you have to let go off to achieve this (hint: the notion that vulnerability is a weakness and feelings of fear and guilt) and who you will become in the process.

Solo travellers: casual hangout in Copenhagen (4pm)
**No pressure, no plan—just new friends** ✨
Whether you’re visiting Copenhagen for the first time, recently relocated, or simply love connecting with curious people, this weekly meetup is the perfect way to share stories, make friends, and go explore, as a group, the magic that Copenhagen has to offer 🇩🇰
**What to expect?**
• **Casual & hostless**: no formal host, no schedule: just show up, be yourself, meet fellow solo travellers & expats and decide as a group where you feel like going
• **Central meeting point**: it is surrounded by cultural landmarks, cafes, and restaurants, making it a convenient and safe starting point.
• **Open to everyone**: whether you are a local, an expat or just passing through for a few days, you are welcome to join. (English is the primary language, but feel free to switch of course)
**How to talk with strangers?**
(and create meaningful connections)
To help you get started, I curated a little game of **[ridiculously good questions](https://www.pierrebonvalot.com/theblog?p=285a9711d7df80d5ac25dd4ef8fe5394&pm=c)** you can ask to break the ice, shift the conversation from dull to intriguing and fun, and eventually create meaningful connection quickly. I hope this helps!
**The only things you need to do are…**
• Leave a message in the comment section to let the others know that you will actually be there (I don’t want you to end up alone there :)
• If you can’t make it anymore, no problem! But please update your RSVP to let the others know
• Please be gentle and patient with each other. We all want to make good friends here.
**Why join?**
• Meet open-minded travellers and locals who are keen to connect, learn and have fun together.
• Experience Copenhagen... as a group.
• Be part of a global community that celebrates solo travelling and meaningful connections between foreign and locals.
**How does it works?**
1\. Arrive at the meeting spot at the scheduled time\.
2\. Look for other joiners—friendly faces and curious explorers\.
3\. Introduce yourself\, connect with others\, and decide as a group where to go\.
**When & where?**
• Day: every Sunday
• Time: 4:00 PM (meetup sometimes displays a different time zone: but it’s always 4pm local time)
• Location: in front of the Søren Kierkegaard statue
**Hostless**: I am setting up the event for you all to meet, but I won't be there myself this time :)
**Hi my name is Pierre**
I created this Meetup group because I want to see more human connection happen in the real world. I feel many of us want this, but don't exactly know how to go about it. I hope this helps a little bit.
I also work as a transformational coach: I help people who feel stuck in their life to reconnect with themselves, create real change and ultimately live more fulfilling lives.

Cozy social Saturday afternoon run/jog/walk
Come join us for an afternoon run/jog/walk.
We are not a typical running club, so please read about the concept in “about us”.
How it works: we don’t know in advance where the trail will go, but we know it will be fun! A member of the club, the 'hare', sets a trail, usually marked with flour. The rest of us, the 'pack', follows the hare's 'scent', i.e., the marks. There will be a 8-10 km trail for runners with shortcuts down to 5-6 km for walkers and those who need a slower pace. We have no set pace - run/walk as slow or as fast as you'd like. After the run we enjoy some refreshments and socialize.
All happens outside, so you need spare warm clothes for after the trail!
Come a few minutes before the start so that you can say hi and leave your bag in a designated bag car before we set off at 14:30.
Don’t worry if there are few registrations on Meetup. We have existed for 44 years, and a lot of our members (anywhere from 20 to 50 people) just show up.
Four-legged friends are welcome!
We never cancel.
See you there!

Here’s a description, trailer and plan for this event:
DESCRIPTION: In 1977, a former professor flees from a mysterious past and returns to his hometown of Recife in search of peace. He soon realizes that the city is far from being the refuge he seeks. It also received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Foreign Film, a Best Actor nomination for Wagner Moura and was selected as Brazil’s entry for Best International Film at this year’s Academy Awards. The film is receiving an incredible 99% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes where critics say, its “compelling script, impeccable acting, and striking 1970s aesthetic” make it “impossible to look away!” Critics say The Secret Agent is “one of the few standout movies of the year” and the Chicago Tribune calls it a “masterpiece of a film” and “the best film of the year!”

Join us as we kick the New Year with a fun Happy Hour and your choice of two fun, new films! Option 1 is the biographical-musical-docu-drama, SONG SUNG BLUE, which stars Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson in the story about a real-life couple and Neil Diamond Tribute Duo. Option 2 is the comedy-action-adventure ACACONDA, which stars Jack Black and Paul Rudd as part of a group of friends remaking a favorite movie from their youth. Here’s a complete description, trailer and our plan for this event:
SONG SUNG BLUE: The film follows Lightning and Thunder, a Milwaukee husband and wife Neil Diamond tribute act, who experience success and heartbreak in their musical journey together. Not a tribute to Neil Diamond, but a tribute to a Neil Diamond Tribute Band! The film is based on the 2008 documentary of the same name and is directed by Craig Brewer. It stars Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson, along with Michael Imperioli, Ella Anderson, King Princess, Mustafa Shakir, Hudson Hensley, Fisher Stevens and Jim Belushi. Critics call the film, “a crowd-pleaser with a ton of heart!” TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCM0Ztp3o1o
ANACONDA: In this action-thriller-comedy-adventure, a group of friends going through a mid-life crisis head to the jungle to remake a favorite movie from their youth but encounter “unexpected events.” The film is directed by Tom Gormican and stars Jack Black, Paul Rudd, Selton Mello, Daniela Melchior, Thandiwe Newton and Steve Zahn. The film is a reimagining of the 1997 original. TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMsFsfrPNaw
PLAN: We’ll kick off the event with a pre-show Happy Hour at nearby Bravo! We’ll confirm the details and exact meeting time once we get the showtimes, but planning for 5 to 5:30pm for the Happy Hour and a 7pm-ish showing of both films. For the movies, we’ll meet inside the lobby area about 20 minutes before showtimes! Once showtimes are announced, advance ticket purchase is advised. Once you have yours, please list your Movie of Choice and seat number in the Comments below. Complete details will be confirmed and announced as the date gets closer.

COUNT RMH Housewarmer Volunteering (Ronald McDonald House)
Some trained COUNT volunteers work together once a month at RMH (http://www.rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer.php) as Housewarmers (usually on the 1st Sunday from 1 – 5 PM). Some schedule other shifts at their convenience. You may try this out with less fuss by following a "Fast track" or go through the normal process.
Fast track
• Arrange a time to shadow a COUNT volunteer. Call Dave Nohle at 614-268-9558 (cell).
• Show up and try it out.
• Complete application, etc. later.
Normal process
• Complete an online application (http://rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer/).
• Attend orientation in advance.
• At orientation you will complete forms agreeing to keep family/patient info private and allowing a background check and tour the facility.
• Complete one training shift. Daily shifts are: morning 9 AM - 1 PM, afternoon 1 - 5 PM and evening 5 - 9 PM.
• Schedule shifts online using the on the RMH scheduling system (http://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/?FROM=32895).
The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) provides housing and meals for families with sick children. The Columbus RMH is the largest in the world with 137 rooms. COUNT has been volunteering there since May 2014.
Housewarmers work with RMH guests to provide a home-like environment - greet, assist with family needs, answer phones, give tours, assist with checkin/checkout, prepare guest rooms after checkout, clean facility, laundry, restock supplies and staff the front desk. RMH Housewarmers volunteer at least one four-hour shift a month. All Housewarmers must complete an application and agree to a background check before they can be full fledged volunteers.
