## What is Meditation?
Meditation is a state of mental silence or rest, where our attention is aware, but not engrossed in thinking. It is known as โthoughtless awarenessโ. It is achieved when the indwelling Kundalini energy awakens and carries the individual attention beyond the level of the 6th chakra, into the seventh chakra, known as Sahasrara.
## Yoga!
It is here we achieve Yoga! As the mind finds rest and silence, we become able to feel our inner Self (Spirit). This can be tangibly felt, it actually manifests, as a cool wind, breath or breeze, often experienced on the palms of the hands or at the top (crown) of the head. It is a spontaneous, effortless natural happening.

## How to get into balance?
The secret of the Sahaja Yoga method resides within us, at the base of the spinal chord, in a triangular bone called the โsacrum boneโ. Since our birth in our sacrum bone dwells an inner energy called in Sanskrit Kundalini; it is characterised as a feminine energy and once activated, this energy rises along our spine until it reaches the top of the head and finally connects with the universal energy. This union is called โyogaโ in Sanskrit.
## Kundalini
As our indwelling Kundalini rises through the central channel, this benevolent feminine energy activates the chakras, removing all the impurities from them and nourishing the entire inner system. It is through this happening that we are elevated into โthoughtless awarenessโ, the mental silence of true meditation

Every class is structured . We begin with a warm-up, gradually pick up the pace and end with stretches and a gentle cool down. You leave REFRESHED and RELAXED. You get to choose and tweak your movements so that it makes you feel good.

This is a barefoot class - no special footwear is needed, unless you want/need to use shoes. Moving in bare feet helps us to ground and build strength in our feet, ankles and legs.

About the venue. **The venue opens at 6.30pm** our classes take place in the Lower Ground Floor The Garrett Centre - This is fully wheelchair accessible via a ramp to the space and has wheelchair accessible doors and amenities

Parking is free after 6.30 in the surrounding streets and directly in front of the centre, however, you should note that the thick white lines denote no parking areas, only use actual parking bays.
**Bikes:** please bring your bikes down to the basement, we are currently able to offer secure space in one of the rooms of the centre.

Saturday Afternoon Life Drawing & Painting LONG POSE
This is just a studio session, with no Zoom.
We will have a life model in the same pose for three hours in the afternoon, usually for two consecutive weeks.
This is an untutored session run by a professional painter who will always be happy to give advice.
Other than model breaks, usually every 25 minutes, we break for tea and cake at 3.30pm for twenty minutes.
Our studio is divided up into workstations or โpositionsโ and whilst each position has a good view of the model many artists prefer to be front and centre. (Actually, you often get a more interesting composition to the side of the room).
You can also just turn up at the studio on spec and find a place to paint.
Our studio has a light and friendly atmosphere. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced painter, come and paint with us! We have a wonderful community of artists who join us each week.

Almost all of the instructors have been in everything from altercations in the real world to the ring and some still compete in the cage. \
If you want to take your skills up, improve your confidence, gain self defense skills, get in better shape, test yourself or just want to kill some time and possibly get hit a bit come on down. \

Knowing ourselves and understanding our abilities is the first step toward wielding our gifts with control and accuracy.
In subsequent classes we will verify and hone our talents with activities and discussion. These are hands-on workshops and participation is expected.
The goal of our series will be to develop expertise in areas of particular interest such as mediumship, channeling, divination, healing and, etc.. Our ultimate directions will be determined by class members as we evolve.

Libera Animae is an interfaith community focused on inner growth, creativity, and authentic connection. We desirere to cultivate a space where all questions are welcome and all members are treated with compassion and respect.
