Why Is It So Hard to Make Friends?
Many people come to Luxembourg expecting that friendships will happen naturally.
Yet months or even years later, they still feel disconnected, lonely or unsure where to start.
In this Meetup we'll explore why making friends as an adult can be surprisingly difficult, what gets in the way, and what can actually help.
This is not a networking event and it's not therapy.
It's a relaxed, honest conversation with other people who may be facing similar challenges.
You'll leave with new perspectives, practical ideas and perhaps a few new connections too.

Circle by AI & Coffee - In-Person Meetup in Luxembourg
⚡ **Circle** by **AI & Coffee — Luxembourg's In-Person AI Community**
AI is moving faster than any of us can keep up with alone. The best way to make sense of it — and stay ahead of it — is by getting in the same room as people who are just as obsessed with it as you are.
That is exactly what AI & Coffee is about.
We are bringing together Luxembourg's most curious, creative and driven minds for an afternoon of open, honest and energising conversations about artificial intelligence — not in theory, but in practice. No slides. No pitches. No pressure. Just real people, real ideas and real connections over great coffee. ☕🤖
***
📅 **Sunday 7 June \| 15:00 – 17:00**
📍 **Haerz,** [44 Grand-Rue, 1660 Ville-Haute Luxembourg](https://www.google.com/maps/place//data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x47954fcdf0e202e1:0x46088203fe8a3611?sa=X&ved=1t:8290&ictx=111)
***
☕ **What we will talk about**
AI & Coffee is an open conversation — guided by curiosity and driven by the people in the room. Expect discussions around:
* What is actually happening in AI right now — the real breakthroughs, the real hype
* Tools, projects and experiments people are building and testing
* Practical AI use cases across industries — finance, marketing, tech, healthcare and more
* Ideas, feedback and fresh perspectives from people at different stages of their AI journey
Feel free to bring your laptop if you want to show something you are working on. Some of the best conversations at our last event started with someone sharing their screen. 💡

👥 **Who is this for?**

**Details for first sync (out of 7):**
Our First sync (out of 7) will focus on setting the context, Descartes' project, his intended audience, and his communication strategy by reading the Introduction/preface and the dedication to the theological faculty of the Sorbonne.
## Reading order
1. Optional: *Le Libraire au Lecteur* — “The Bookseller/Publisher to the Reader”
Note: French publication context, not part of the core Latin sequence.
1. *Sapientissimis Clarissimisque Viris Sacrae Facultatis Theologiae Parisiensis Decano et Doctoribus*
“Dedication to the Dean and Doctors of the Faculty of Theology of Paris”

“Preface to the Reader”
1. *Synopsis sex sequentium Meditationum*
“Synopsis of the following six Meditations”
**Discussion will focus on:**
\* What Descartes aims to achieve with the Meditations.
\* Why he addresses the Sorbonne and how he tries to win their support.
\* Which parts of the introduction feel strategic, modern, or outdated today?
**How it works:**
1. Check-in (5–10 min): Discuss what was difficult or striking in the reading.
1. Close reading (20–30 min): Read 1–2 key passages together and clarify terms.
1. Discussion (30–40 min): Use guiding questions and link abstract arguments to examples.
1. Wrap-up (5–10 min): Share one takeaway sentence and confirm reading for the next session.
**House keeping rules:**
We strive to offer a safe space for people to share thought-provoking conversations that will hopefully stay with you even after : )
**1\. Come prepared:** Read the relevant sections for the sync ahead of time
**2\. Think for yourself** (no chatgpt take aways!)
**3\. Every voice should be heard:** Don't cut people off but also ensure everyone speaks succinctly to ensure everyone has a chance to speak
