Biodanza Series: Come Back to Yourself
Biodanza Series: Come Back to Yourself
Design by Instinct. Then Prove It with Data.
Design by Instinct. Then Prove It with Data.
**If your design feels right, how do you prove that it works?** Creatives are taught to trust their instincts, and rightly so. But intuition alone can leave your best work undefended in the room, and it cannot tell you whether a design actually changed anything. What looks better in a critique still needs to prove that it creates value in the real world. So, the real challenge is knowing what works, not just what looks good. In this keynote, **Mario Stipetic**, product designer, engineer, and product manager based in Zürich, introduces data-driven design as a practical way to use evidence without killing creativity. With over 14 years of experience designing and building SaaS web and mobile products end to end, including as Head of Product Design at a US-based fintech, Mario works at the intersection of design, product, and engineering. Join us on **June 30** as Mario shows, through real before-and-after case studies, how simple data can help teams test ideas, iterate faster, and build products people keep coming back to. **💡 What will you learn?** * Why creativity and data work best together, and how measurement helps you defend your design decisions * How simple methods like a 1–5 survey, a funnel, or a fake button can give you real proof without a big team or budget * How to set a clear hypothesis and one metric before you design, then measure before vs after * How to read what the data is telling you and turn it into sharper copy, visuals, flows, and product decisions *Connect with Mario* [LinkedIn](http://linkedin.com/in/mariostipetic) —— **📍 Where?** [Kulturhaus Helferei](https://maps.app.goo.gl/AJuPTcLTmihXxHyn9), near the Grossmünster in Niederdorf. \> Kirchgasse 13\, 8001 Zürich (Tram-Station Helmhaus) **📅 When?** Tuesday, June 30, 6:45 PM / 18:45 Uhr **⏰ What’s the schedule?** 6:30 PM → Doors open 6:45 PM → Keynote + Q&A 7:30 PM → Networking 🔗 **Discord** Get event reminders and connect with other members on Discord: ➡️ [discord.gg/PAyRBDhKkk](https://discord.gg/PAyRBDhKkk) —— **Who’s Visual Fields?** Visual Fields is a network of designers and creatives built for people to connect, support, and share with fellow experts. Writers' Workshop - Exceptionally at ramram
Writers' Workshop - Exceptionally at ramram
[Exceptionally at ramram cafe, inside the PBZ Altstadt library, while Strauhof is closed for the summer!] Join us for an opportunity to enjoy, discuss and learn from excellent writing. We'll have a semi-private room at The Alehouse, with three reading and discussion slots and an opportunity to meet other writers. A few notes for prospective writers: 1. You aren’t required to share your own work and should feel encouraged to attend simply to enjoy and discuss the work of others, if you prefer. 1. All genres, formats, and styles of creative writing welcome, noting that the focus will be on discussing English-language fiction (or creative non-fiction). Poetry is likely to be better suited to the marvellous Zürich Poetry Club. 1. All abilities are welcome, from those just starting out to those who have already made progress in their writing, from hobbyists to professionals. 1. There will be three reading slots for each session, allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Please indicate in the comments for the event if you would like to share something. 1. If you would like to share your writing with the group, you can do so either by reading aloud or allowing group members to read directly. You can expect to read for 5-7 minutes (approximately 600-1000 words) with 15-20 minutes provided for discussion afterwards. 1. If possible, please bring sufficient copies of any writing that you would like to present, so that everyone can read it themselves. You can also request written feedback. 1. Improving as a writer requires both guidance and encouragement, so you can expect the discussion to be constructive and courteous - we all know how challenging it can be. We hope that you will be able to join, and look forward to seeing you there!

KIDS Summer Art Camp
KIDS Summer Art Camp
This special holiday program is perfect for children who love being creative and want to try out different techniques. Inspired by the "All You Can Eat" principle, you can create as much as you like within your booked time. What can you create? During the summer holidays, you'll have a wide range of creative activities to choose from. You can focus on one technique or try several. Manga Drawing (1.5 hrs) \*starts at 1:00 pm\* Learn step-by-step how to draw manga characters. You'll learn the basics of manga faces, eyes, and proportions, and you can create your own character. Pottery (2 hrs) Shape a small bowl, mini vase, or figurine with your hands! I'll show you how! Acrylic Painting (2 hrs) Paint your own picture with acrylic paints on canvas. Whether it's cute animals, food illustrations, or summer scenes – let your imagination run wild! Coloring (0.5 hrs) Perfect for relaxing between other projects. Choose a template or create your own design and experiment with colors. Decoding (0.5 - 1 hr) In this popular technique, you decorate objects with a creamy paste and cute decorative elements. For example, cases, mirrors, or small boxes. The finished piece needs to dry overnight in the studio and can be picked up the next day. (max 3) Punch Needle (1 - 2 hr) Using yarn and a special needle, you create textured patterns and small textile artworks. This technique is easy to learn and especially fun. Crochet Tote Bag (1 hr) Using simple crochet techniques, you can make a small bag or accessory from yarn. Design Jewelry & Keychains (0.5 - 1 hr) Create your own bracelets, pendants, or small gifts. Hand Lettering & Greeting Card Design (1 - 1.5 hr) Learn beautiful lettering and design personalized cards – perfect for birthdays or short messages. Nail Design (1 hr) You can also get creative with your nails. For hygiene reasons, please bring your own nail file and nail polish. Just like with "All You Can Eat," there's only one important rule at All You Can Create: 👉 You must complete your project. If a project appears incomplete, an additional fee of 10 CHF will be charged. This rule helps ensure that the creative space is used fairly for everyone and motivates participants to consciously complete their projects.

Burnout Society - Byung-Chul Han
Burnout Society - Byung-Chul Han
We live in an age of unprecedented progress. Advances in medicine, technology, education, and human rights have given us opportunities and freedoms that previous generations could not even imagine. Yet, despite these achievements, many of us feel increasingly anxious, restless, exhausted, and overwhelmed. How can a society that has gained so much leave so many feeling depleted and always lonhing for more? The philosopher Byung-Chul Han argues that this is not a contradiction, but a defining **feature** of our time. In his book *The Burnout Society*, he suggests that the crisis of modern life stems not from **oppression**, prohibition, or negativity, but from an **excess of positivity**—the constant pressure to achieve, optimize, perform, and become more. Han captures this paradox in one of his most famous observations: *"The complaint of the depressive individual, 'Nothing is possible,' can only occur in a society that thinks, 'Nothing is impossible.'"* In a world where limitless possibility has become an expectation, failure, exhaustion, and inadequacy are increasingly experienced as personal shortcomings rather than social problems. Today, we will explore Han's diagnosis of the modern condition, why burnout has become so widespread, and what his philosophy reveals about a possible way out. **Preparation:** You can get a good introduction of the topic by watchin one of the below videos: [Why We're All Burning Out: Byung-Chul](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlRlWuEyt8E) [Achievment Society - Byung-Chul Han | Philosophize This](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jm56nQ31kBk) **For Philosophical Minds Zurich theme events in general:** At our theme events, we begin with a brief topic introduction, followed by engaging discussions in small groups. It’s all about conversation, not just listening. Also, please note, we keep the atmosphere relaxed and informal—**there’s** **no pressure to speak in front of anyone**. **Important:** When you register for the event, please commit to it and don't be a NO SHOW. Presumably, when the ancient philosophers decided to go to an event, they kept to it.
We look forward to seeing you. **Payment:** You can pay at the venue (Twint/Revolut/Cash). Thus, if you want to register at Meetup just click attend - no more needed ;). We look forward to seeing you.

Punch Needle Workshop in Zürich
Punch Needle Workshop in Zürich
In this Punch Needle workshop, you'll transform simple threads into a unique work of art. Punch Needle is a modern yet relaxing embroidery technique where loops are created in the fabric using a special needle. This results in textured, soft surfaces and expressive patterns. The workshop is ideal for getting to know Punch Needle, unwinding creatively, or creating something beautiful with your own hands in a short amount of time – no prior experience necessary. At the beginning of the workshop, you'll receive a brief introduction to the basics of the Punch Needle technique. I'll show you step by step how to use the needle correctly, how to guide the thread, and how to create even loops. You'll learn what to pay attention to so that your design is neat and stable. The calm, even movement makes Punch Needle particularly relaxing and perfect for a creative break from everyday life. In the workshop, you can choose between two creative options: Option 1 – Embroider a Design You choose an existing (or your own) design and embroider it without a background. This option is ideal for beginners or anyone who wants to try Punch Needle in a straightforward way. The focus is entirely on the technique and the design itself. Here you can transform your work into a saucer. Option 2 – Design with Background Here you embroider your design including a background. This gives your work more depth and a particularly beautiful, flat texture. This option is suitable for anyone who wants to make their artwork a bit more elaborate. Here you can also transform your work into a saucer or hang it up as decoration. The maximum workshop duration is up to 1 hour. Depending on your pace and design, you can complete your work or a large part of it within this time. I will personally guide you throughout the entire workshop, give you tips, and support you with any questions or uncertainties. Everything is optional – the important thing is that you enjoy the process. All materials are included. You will work with high-quality yarns in various colors, fabric, a hoop, and a punch needle. You don't need to bring anything – except a desire for creativity. You can take your embroidered work home with you at the end, whether as a decoration, a gift, or a personal keepsake. If you're looking to discover something new, relax creatively, and create your own work of art in a short amount of time, this punch needle workshop is perfect for you. 🧶✨

Free In-Person Meeting: Get Over Losses & Betrayals, Build Lasting Relationships
Free In-Person Meeting: Get Over Losses & Betrayals, Build Lasting Relationships
This is a free, in-person meeting on the subject of betrayals, losses and how to get over them so you can build lasting relationships. Burdened by a stressful relationship? Unhealthy relationships can trigger feelings of anger, despair or self-doubt. They can create dwindling spirals of fights and seeking to make-up, or trying to “pin the blame” on someone or something. If you don’t find the RIGHT reasons, or select the correct sources of the problem, the problem can just get worse and worse. Whether in love or personal ties, with friends or at work, our life really IS affected by the quality of our relationships. Good ones can promote pleasure and survival while less optimum ones can lead to annoyance, anger, self-doubt, stress, or even affect our health and ability to survive well. Whether you are suffering from a divorce, or a painful break-up, don’t know who to trust (or who to CHOOSE) as a partner, friend, boss or employee - the anxiety of relationship troubles can really make a mess of things. Maybe you’ve suffered a betrayal, or are dealing with hostility or criticalness or invalidation. Dwindling relationships can involve destructive behavior, where we hurt those we love, or start succumbing to self-destructive thoughts, attitudes or behaviors that spiral out of control and affect much more than our immediate relationship. Past losses in love or life can affect how we act or react to new people and situations and hold us back from even starting to create new, possibly great relationships! How can one get back onto a saner course of action? Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life: human relationships! Break free from self imposed limitations Here we will discuss: • How to “erase” the trauma of past hurts and betrayals so that one isn’t always repeating past mistakes. • Why and how do the negative emotions of others affect you? • Why is my partner withdrawing and what can I do about it? • Why do we sometimes feel compelled to hurt the ones we love? • Fights & arguments - what's really behind them? • What underlies “corrosive criticism” or the need to invalidate self or others? • How one can stably change one’s outlook on life so they can affect positive change? • Where do compulsive destructive behaviors come from and what can be done about them? • How to form closer bonds & keep growing the relationships with the people you care about? • How to enhance one’s own ability to survive and create positive healthy relationships whether in love, family & friendships or in work, business or one’s career? Relationships can be hard and life itself IS challenging. Why not arm yourself with the knowledge and breakthroughs that have been made about the mind, mental reactions & interpersonal relationships, so that one has better awareness and control over themselves and life in general. Learn where painful experiences are “stored” and how they can unknowingly affect us. You will also find out how one can “erase” those past painful experiences so that one is free to move forward without being tripped up by the past. Learn too, about what can lead some people to become “toxic” personalities and how to identify those traits in others so you won’t be tripped up trusting the wrong person. Our free Meet-ups occur in a safe environment where one can learn, without fear of judgment or criticism, and without the recommendation of harmful mental techniques or therapies, just how YOU can get yourself onto a happier & more successful path: in love & in life. We look forward to having you join us! This class is sponsored by the Dianetics & Scientology Life Improvement Center of Central Ohio.
