## THIS IS NOT JUST ANOTHER SINGLES NIGHT
Dating apps promised connection.
Instead, many people feel tired, disconnected, and quietly wondering if meaningful relationships are still possible.
They are.
But they rarely happen on a screen.
They happen when people show up in real life.
Kismetrix is a real-life social experience designed for people who are done swiping and ready to meet properly again.
No apps.
No scripts.
No awkward formats.
Just real people, real conversations, and real chemistry in a room full of others who feel the same.
If you've ever thought:
“Surely there are still great people out there — I just need to meet them differently.”
This night was created for you.
***
## WHY THIS EVENT IS DIFFERENT
Kismetrix events bring together socially engaged singles who are open to meeting new people in real life.
Our community attracts people who are:
• warm, confident, and grounded
• socially curious and open to conversation
• interested in meaningful connection
• ready to meet people beyond dating apps
People arrive curious.
People stay because the energy feels right.
And sometimes they leave with connections they never expected.
Connection doesn’t happen by staying home.
***
## A NOTE ABOUT THIS EVENT FORMAT
This event was originally envisioned on a larger scale.
However, as it’s come together, we’ve intentionally refined the format to better reflect what Kismetrix is truly about — creating space for **genuine, meaningful, and authentic connection**.
For this night, all guests will be brought together in **one main room**, rather than across multiple areas.
This allows for a more cohesive atmosphere, better flow, and more natural conversations throughout the evening.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not about the size of the crowd —
it’s about the moments that happen within it.
***
## CURATED AGE ZONES
To help everyone feel comfortable and meet people in a similar life stage, guests attend within curated age zones inside the venue:
• 26–38
• 34–50
• 45+
While everyone shares the same main space, this helps create a more comfortable and relevant social experience.
***
## THE VIBE AT SECRET GARDEN BAR
Secret Garden Bar offers a lush indoor–outdoor setting in the heart of St Kilda — perfect for relaxed social connection.
Expect:
• warm lighting and vibrant atmosphere
• effortless mingling and natural conversations
• a welcoming crowd where coming solo is completely normal
• great music and a lively (but not overwhelming) social environment
Every ticket includes a complimentary standard drink, helping everyone settle in and start conversations naturally.
There will also be some fun optional games and interactive moments throughout the evening to help spark conversations and encourage guests to meet beyond their immediate circle.
Participation is completely optional — the night flows naturally whether you prefer to mingle freely or join in.
***
## HOSTING & FLOW
Kismetrix hosts will be present from 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM to welcome guests and support the social flow.
After hosted hours, the venue remains open — so you're welcome to stay on, mingle, and let the night continue naturally.
***
## THIS NIGHT IS FOR YOU IF…
✔️ You're over dating apps but still believe connection is possible
✔️ You enjoy meeting people naturally in real life
✔️ You prefer genuine conversations over loud, crowded scenes
✔️ You're open to new conversations and unexpected connections
Even if you don't meet “the one,” you'll leave reminded that meaningful connection is still very much alive.

Explore Melbourne is the largest meetup group in Australia. We have eight simple rules in place to protect our community and for everyone to have a positive experience.
❌ Not a dating group! – We’re here to make friends, not find soulmates.
📵 No phone numbers, please! – Feel free to swap social media if both parties are cool with it, but let’s keep our digits private. Please don’t add people to WhatsApp or other groups.
🔞 Our events are only open to people aged 18 and older.
📢 Please do not advertise other events or groups.
😅 Don’t be a social octopus! – Give people space to chat with others.
🚗 We don't allow carpooling due to safety incidents/our public liability insurance not covering motor related accidents.
💰 No sales pitches! – No selling, no MLMs, no pyramid schemes, no “life-changing mentorship” offers—let’s keep things scam-free.
By joining this event, you’re giving us a virtual pinky promise 🤝 that you’ll follow the rules. Break them, and—poof!—you’re out for good. No second chances, no do-overs. Let’s keep it fun, friendly, and drama-free!
**Liability Waiver:**
The organizer of this group cannot accept any liability for any loss, damage, injury, or accident to participants or their property at this event. By participating in this event, you're taking responsibility for your safety and well-being. By joining this event, you agree to the liability waiver mentioned here: [https://exploremelbourne.au/explore-melbourne-liability-waiver/](https://exploremelbourne.au/explore-melbourne-liability-waiver/)

Exploring Toxic Masculinity
Please join us this Sunday as we discuss Masculinity in the 21st century. This session will be hosted by Jefferson.
**We will meet at the Queensberry Hotel, 593 Swanston Street, Carlton (100m north of Melbourne Central) at 2pm for a 2:15pm start sharp.**
**We kindly ask attendees to pay $5 to attend to help with MeetUp costs & venue costs. This is not mandatory, but if you are a regular member it would be appreciated. Any extra moneys will go towards buying food and drinks for the table. The venue also expects us to spend money as a group, so please buy at least one drink or meal from the bar.**
There is no pre-requisite preparation necessary for this session, nor a philosophical background, all that is required is a curious mind. These discussions are both a Socrates Cafe style discussion and lively metaphysical dojo, in the spirit of learning and friendly debate, so please feel free to challenge others' assumptions and be prepared to have your own assumptions challenged.
Find below some questions to consider, however note these are free-ranging events and the below serve merely as a springboard for the discussion:
* What is the Manosphere, and what is Masculinity (both healthy and toxic)?
* Are traditional masculine traits healthy for individuals and societies?
* Does modern society reward or punish traditionally masculine traits?
* What virtues, behaviours, etc. should be prioritized in raising boys?
* Are modern educational systems, communities and the economy well-suited to boys’ developmental tendencies?
* Is the idea of “healthy masculinity” necessary, or should we move beyond gendered virtue frameworks entirely?
* Should boys be raised differently from girls, or should parenting be largely gender-neutral?
* What do we make of cultural figures such as Jordan Peterson, Andrew Tate, Stefan Molyneux, and so on?
* Does the concept of toxic masculinity unfairly target men as a class?
* Does the concept of toxic masculinity itself produce harm by pathologizing male identity?
* Is there an equivalent concept for femininity, and should there be?
* Is the idea of a “war on men” descriptively accurate, or primarily rhetorical?
* Is the perception of a “war on men” driven more by material conditions or cultural narratives?
* Are men uniquely disadvantaged in certain domains, and does that constitute injustice?
* Is the manosphere a reaction to real socio-economic change or just another identity narrative of victimhood?
Feel free to post any questions, comments, videos or links related to the topic in the discussion page below.
Hope to see you there!

Dinner & a Movie: PROJECT HAIL MARY at Marcus Pickerington!
Join us as we get together to see Ryan Gosling and Sandra Huller in the highly anticipated sci-fi adventure, PROJECT HAIL MARY! The film is based on the best-selling novel of The Martian and follows a man who awakens on a spacecraft before realizing his mission to save Earth. Here’s a description, trailer and plan for this event:
DESCRIPTION: A science teacher wakes up on a spaceship, light years from home with no recollection of who he is or how he got there. As his memory returns, he begins to uncover his mission to save the Earth. The film is directed by the filmmaking due Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (21 and 22 Jump Street, Into and Across the Spider-Verse) and is based on the 2021 novel by Andy Weir (The Martian). The film stars Ryan Gosling, Sandra Huller (Anatomy of a Fall, The Zone of Interest), Lionel Boyce, Milana Vayntrub and Ken Leung.
TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VYsnngkS_U
BUZZ AND REVIEWS: The buzz and reviews for PROJECT HAIL MARY are off-the-charts good! The film is earning a 95% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, where critics call it an “old school blockbuster crowd-pleaser” and “a new sci-fi classic!” It’s “deeply hopeful,” well-acted,” funny,” “dramatic,” and “exceptionally rousing throughout!” Others call it “something truly magical” and one that “we’ll be talking about this one for decades to come!” And I believe Slashfilm says it best: “It will lift up and squeeze your heart, crack you up with laughter, and give you a sense of hope and wonder in a way that few movies have been able to inspire.”
MOVIE PLAN: Please purchase your ticket for the 2:30pm SuperScreen DLX showing and meet in the lobby area between 2:05 and 2:15pm!
