From 8:15 Continue networking, chat & drinks at Insignia on Flinders, 502 Flinders St. 🍻Workshop: Building a Multi-Agent System - Patrick Haralabidis
In this Workshop, you will go beyond simple chatbots and build a distributed multi-agent system. While a single LLM can answer questions, real-world complexity often requires specialised roles. You don't ask your backend engineer to design the UI, and you don't ask your designer to optimise database queries. Similarly, we can create specialised AI agents that focus on one task and coordinate with each other to solve complex problems.
Handson Workshop: The Self-Curation Engine (Gemini + Cloud Run + EventArc) - Anupam Phogat
Data arrives from disparate sources with inconsistent schemas in our warehouse. To solve this, we present a serverless Cloud Run agent that uses the Gemini API to automate schema mapping. Triggered by new data, the agent compares raw schemas to a BigQuery target and dynamically generates the required SQL or Dataform transformations. This talk highlights how AI automates the most manual parts of data engineering: schema maintenance and logic generation.
🎁 What’s in it for you?

How is it that you can Help kids or yourself to become a better student!
Too many kids as well as teenagers and adults have problems with study.
Today's meetup will inform you about the basics in STUDY TECHNOLOGY that provides an understanding of the basics of learning and supplies exact ways to overcome all the pitfalls one can encounter during study. This is applicable to young children, teenagers (or their parents that are trying to help them) and adults alike.
Study Technology shows how one studies in order to comprehend a subject so one can apply it. Laws on which learning is based and workable methods have also been discovered for anyone to apply for themselves or when teaching others.
Too many students graduate from school and college unable to put to use what they’ve learned in school.
It’s not that they’re stupid or that their teachers didn’t know how to teach.
More than likely it traces back to the one thing missing from most educations—learning how to learn in the first place.
We all went to school, yet isn’t it odd that no one taught us how to study?
The information presented at this meetup can help anyone improve others or his own ability to learn.
It is a practical tool that parents and teachers alike can use to enhance a child's study performance. You’ll learn the barriers that lie between your own or a child's education.
And you will very quickly learn how to overcome them.
This technology will enable you or a child to pursue any subject with skill and confidence.
Teachers who have "hard to handle/distributive " or slow learners in class will absolutely love the amazing turn around most often seen in improved behaviour and student performance in class.
If you or your child has difficulties at school (or learning new things at work or online) than this meetup is important to you.
If you can not make it to our meetup than contact the organizer and arrange it to suit your time.
This technology can if one was to live far away be taught online. (extension course)
You may offcourse also opt to have this technology taught to your own child by experienced volunteeer staff or learn about this yourself and transfer this knowledge to those you want to have better grades.
Yes it is possible to improve anyone's study performance. All it takes is just 5 steps.
See you at this meetup.

Speaking & Leadership - Workshop - FAST FUN LEARNING
Smashing! Try something new Thursday
Interactive workshop - Become the charismatic leader
Serious about improving your leadership - **Why mess, come to the best**
Why is Smashing different to other speaking clubs?
Just one member's thoughts, "The fun/laughs factor is definitely a point of difference. We keep it moving with high standards so it’s a nice balance. Too strict makes it tense and boring, too loose and we can lose the energy/commercial feel. SmashSpeak's vibe's in the sweet spot."

Book Review Group - May 2026
Hi all,
Welcome to our May book club! We are a friendly group of avid readers that enjoy a variety of books and great conversation, over a meal. New members are welcome but spaces are limited.
The books for Thursday 21 May 2026 are:
**Science Fiction**
Of Monsters and Mainframes by Barbara Truelove
[Of Monsters and Mainframes by Barbara Truelove | Goodreads](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/216540053-of-monsters-and-mainframes)
**Fantasy**
A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. Le Guin
[A Wizard of Earthsea (Earthsea Cycle, #1) by Ursula K. Le Guin | Goodreads](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13642.A_Wizard_of_Earthsea)
**Urban Fantasy**
Go back, and re-read the book that first got you hooked into Urban Fantasy books. Books set a mondern time, with a recognisable urban type landscape. Was it Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, the Dresden Files, Mercy Thompson, Sookie Stackhouse or maybe Twilight that inspired you to read more books like this.
You don't have to read all the books. However, the more you read, the more robust the conversation will be with multiple people discussing each book. Don't forget to bring along some Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Urban Fantasy suggestions for the following meet-up!
If you would like to see all the books (excluding bonus books) that we have read before, click [here](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1K96OI_w3AIBzkDVWXenQNc6mYbZ2cMvfRnzVehkp9Bo/edit#gid=0) to have a look. Since there are so many authors out there, we try not to repeat authors, however, I am relaxing this slightly moving forward. If you are new(ish) to the group, check out the back catalogue for some inspiration if you are stuck for something to read.
Numbers are limited. If you can’t make it, please change your RSVP to a NO as a courtesy to the organiser and to let any wait-listed people into the meet-up.
If you have time, stay back for a social catch up with your fellow book club members. Of course, you can go as soon as the book club finishes, but if you have time, then this is a great opportunity to find out all the news and what books people have been reading over the last couple of months.
Happy Reading!!! 🤓😊

How the mind works
The optimum computing machine is a subject many of us have studied. If you were building one how would you design it?
First the computer should be able to compute with perfect accuracy on any problem in the universe and produce answers which were always and invariably right.
Second the computer would have to be swift, working much more quickly than the problem and process could be vocally articulated.
Third the computer would have to be able to handle large numbers of variables and large numbers of problems simultaneously.
Forth, the computer would have to be able to evaluate its own data and there would have to remain available within it not only a record of its former conclusions but the evaluations leading to those conclusions.
Fifth, the computer would have to be served by a memory bank of nearly infinite capacity and would have to be available to the analytical portion of the computer in the smallest fractions of a second.
Sixth, the computer would have to be able to rearrange former conclusions or alter them in the light of new experience.
Seventh, the computer would need no exterior director, but would be entirely self determined about its programing guided only by the necessity –value of the solution which it itself would determine.
Eight the computer should be self servicing and self arming against present and future damage and would be able to estimate future damage.
Ninth the computer should be served by perception by which it could determine necessity –value.
Tenth ,the memory bank should store perceptions as perceived ,consecutive with time received with the smallest possible time divisions between perception .It would then store in color-Visio (moving),tone audio (flowing),odor ,tactile and self sensation ,all of them cross –coordinated .
Eleventh, for the purposes of solutions, it would have to be able to create new situations and imagine new perceptions hitherto not perceived and should be able to conceive these to itself in terms of tone –audio ,color-visio ,odor, tactile, and self sensation –and should be able to file anything so conceived as imagined ,labeled “memories”
Twelfth, the entire machine should be portable.
It might be somewhat astonishing at first to conceive such a computer .But the fact is, the machine is in existence .There are billions of them in use today and many ,many more billions have been made and used in the past .
In fact you’ve got one .for we are dealing with the human mind.

🍽 Deep Dive Lunch: What action would you take if you had more courage?
**🍽 Deep Dive Lunch: What action would you take if you had more courage?**
Most people have an idea of what they’d do if they had more courage.
This lunch is a chance to explore that in a relaxed, small-group setting, across business, career, and life.
Not theoretical. Not “one day”. Right now.
🔄 **Format**
• Arrival + order food
• First discussion round
• Table rotation
• Final reflections + wrap
💬 **How it works**
We’ll break into small groups of 6–8 people per table. Each table will have a few guided prompts to help the conversation go deeper without forcing it.
Then, you'll explore the topic together, sharing perspectives, experiences, and current situations.
Halfway through, we rotate tables so you meet a new group and continue the conversation from a different angle.
🧭 **Ground rules, this is important**
To keep the conversations valuable if you catch yourself or anyone doing the below. Call it out, don't stay silent.
• Ask, "do you want my perspective on the topic?" before giving unscolicited advice
• Listen completely before responding: ask "have you said all you want about to about that?"
• No one person should speak more than 20% of the time
• No pitching or selling: this is not the place for that
• What’s shared stays in the group - Chatham House rules!
This is about understanding and reflection, not impressing anyone.
👀 **Who this is for**
• People building something, or thinking about it
• Those open to honest, reflective conversation
• Anyone who knows they might be holding back somewhere
You don’t need to have it all figured out.
You just need to be willing to think about it.
**🔥Future Lunch Topics Coming Up...**
1. Deep Dive Lunch: Is taking action in 2026 wasted given global uncertaintity?
2. Deep Dive Lunch: What are you doing that feels productive but isn’t actually moving the needle?
3. Deep Dive Lunch: If you had to start 2026 again, what would you do differently?
4. Deep Dive Lunch: What’s the next uncomfortable step you know you should take?

Think less "dating event"… more a Saturday night you'd actually choose to go out for.
## 💫 ABOUT THE EVENT
Tired of dating apps that go nowhere? Over environments that feel forced or awkward? So were we.
KISMETRIX \| True Connection was created for people who want something more human — real conversation\, real presence\, genuine connection\.
You'll walk into a room full of people who:
🌻 Are open to meeting others
🌻 Enjoy good conversation and social energy
🌻 Prefer real-life interaction over apps
🌻 Are simply here for a good, intentional night out
Come for a drink. Stay for the vibe. See where the night goes.
## 🌻 THE VIBE
Picture it: warm lighting, hanging sunflowers above your head, the garden buzzing softly around you, and the kind of crowd where it's actually easy to start a conversation.
Expect:
🌻 A welcome drink in your hand within a minute of arriving
🌻 A warm, hosted welcome so nobody walks in feeling lost
🌻 Hosted introductions early in the evening to help conversations get started
🌻 Free-flowing mingling with light support from our hosts throughout the night
🌻 Conversation prompts on each table, if the room needs them
🌻 A relaxed, social crowd of intentional singles
No rotations. No forced formats. No hookup-bar energy. Just a thoughtfully designed night under the sunflowers, with people who actually want to meet someone.
## 👥 AGE GUIDE: 28–45
Kismetrix Social is open to all singles who care about meaningful connection. We provide an age guide so you know what to expect — most of our guests will fall within this range.
The focus of our events is intentional people, not strict age groups. If you're slightly outside this range and the format feels right for you, you're welcome to book.

Come solo or with a friend — most people come solo. You'll be in good company.

## ✨ WHERE KISMETRIX SOCIAL FITS
Kismetrix Social is our most accessible event — a relaxed, hosted evening for singles who want real connection without the structure of our Elevated Evenings or the formality of our Dinners.
It's the easiest way to experience how we do things, and many guests go on to join our other events from here.
## 🔔 IMPORTANT NOTES
🌻 This is a hosted social experience — not speed dating
🌻 A welcome drink is included; additional drinks and food are available at the venue
🌻 Participation in introductions is always optional
🌻 Respect, boundaries, and good energy are essential
🌻 Tickets are non-refundable but transferable

**Abstract**
Like it or not, AI agents are now capable of turning a quickly written paragraph of requirements into a pull request that is ready to be integrated into real-world production applications and it's now our responsibility to make sure AI doesn't go rogue and take down prod - or corrupt our data by misunderstanding the requirements or our existing schemas. In this session we'll explore strategies to protect our codebases through unit and integration testing, documentation, and code review along with additional ways of providing context and guard rails to our AI agents as they carry out the work we've assigned them to do. By the time we're done, you'll have a firm grasp of the problem and understand some helpful options for protecting your codebase from vibe coding mishaps getting YOLOed into prod.

Powell Gold Star Referral Club Meetup
We meet at lunch each week and each meeting follows a fairly organized agenda. First all participants pass their business cards around. Then each member and guest is invited to give a one-minute overview of their company and what is a perfect referral for the week. We always have a 10 minute presentation from one of the members about their business in more detail. And finally we pass referrals. You're welcome to visit. Nobody is ever put on the spot. Bring plenty of cards!
