🌈 Pride Books & Social 🍸
🌈 Pride Books & Social 🍸
📚 Pride Month is a chance to come together around stories that feel lived-in, complicated, and real, and this discussion invites us to sit with those voices rather than just skim them. Its roots go back to the Stonewall Riots, and since then Pride literature has grown into a bold, varied body of work—from Giovanni’s Room to A single man and Normal People, each capturing different shades of love and identity. As we read, the aim isn’t just analysis but conversation—what resonates, what challenges us, and what these stories say about how people find themselves and each other. Let's grab a drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) and discuss books on pride —whether poetry, fiction, or non-fiction. Bring your physical book or e-reader. There's no formal structure or agenda—just books and good conversation.💬 It's a perfect place to get book recommendations and rediscover your reading momentum if you've hit a slump. We welcome readers of all backgrounds and interests! ⚠️**Something Happened?** If something unpleasant happened to you, it may happen to others. Even if it seems minor, don't hesitate to reach out to me. 🔍 **How to find us?** * When I reach the venue, I'll leave a comment in the meetup where the group is seated. Normally, the booking is in my name, so you can ask the staff for the group. * If you're unable to find us, leave a comment in the meetup page. I'll be able to guide you. We highly encourage you to move between tables and strike up conversations with fellow book lovers. These discussions about literature and reading recommendations are often the highlight of the event! As an organizer, I'm always looking for feedback about the event and suggestions for new events, so feel free to suggest ideas to me. 💡 I look forward to seeing you all! 😊

Building Confidence: Dance Workshop for Women
Building Confidence: Dance Workshop for Women
Last chance to participate in our dance workshops, as in the next two classes we'll be improving two choreographies we worked throughout the semester and get them recorded. Join us on Saturday mornings for a self-awareness experience through dance, designed to help you feel free, confident, sensual, light, and fully alive. 💃🏽✨ This is a recurrent class happening in a lovely dance studio, filled with incredible females. We often stay for lunch together at a café of our choice, because community is part of the experience. In the sessions, we usually explore: • Grounded hip movement and natural body isolation • Combinations focused on flow and expression • Musicality and rhythm connection • Confidence through dynamic footwork • Your authentic, inner energy. This will arise naturally as you move without holding back This class is open to **all levels**. Most students have no or little experience with dance. Choreographies are just a means of self-expression. Whether you already dance or you simply want to feel your body again, this space is for you. Expect warmth, laughter, a little challenge and a lot of energy. Let’s move, sweat and awaken our vital force together ❤️‍🔥 **Location:** The Liffey Trust Studios, Studio 5 **When:** Saturdays **Time:** 11:00 To reserve your spot, please join this event and complete the payment: • **Drop-in class:** €16 Payment link: [revolut.me/mariafxfqd](revolut.me/mariafxfqd) A monthly plan is offered for €60 if you decide you want to become a regular. Sunday boardgame meetup
Sunday boardgame meetup
Our free-of-charge meet-up in the Black Sheep Pub on Capel Street. This is a casual meet up for people who want to play boardgames. Lots of people bring plenty of games and rules will always be explained so don't worry if you're new to the hobby and you don't have anything to bring along or think you won't know how to play. The meet-up runs for the whole day but late comers always welcome, you just may have to wait a little for a game to open up but games will be starting and ending throughout the day. **IMPORTANT!** **The meet up is free of charge but we do ask that people support the bar by buying food and/or drink. The bar is very accommodating to us and it's important that we support them in return. Bringing in outside food or drink is completely unacceptable.** Check out the comments below where people will say what games they are bringing and express your interest in joining if interested. Any questions contact either of the organisers Gavin or Stephen.
The Happiness Circle :)
The Happiness Circle :)
After attending the World Happiness Summit (WOHASU) and practicing group coaching there as a coach, I came back feeling deeply equipped and inspired to share what I learned - and that is exactly what this circle is about. 🌞 Through evidence based tools and research backed insights I will share what truly contributes to human happiness - not as a lecture, but as a lived, felt experience. Because in The Happiness Circle we don't just learn about happiness. We practice it, together, in real time. Set on the grass in the beautiful surroundings of St Anne's Park, this 90 minute gathering combines gentle movement, meditation, mindful walking and group coaching into one warm, grounding experience. A space to meet wonderful people, build real connections and walk away with practical tools you can bring into your everyday life. **What to expect:** * Gentle mat movement to wake up the body * Short guided meditation to quiet the mind * Evidence based happiness habits and insights from WOHASU * Practical tools to bring more joy into daily life * Group coaching - putting it all into practice together * Mindful walking and genuine human connection * Warm, inclusive community energy throughout No experience needed. No performance required. Just you, showing up. Bring a yoga mat or blanket, wear comfortable clothes and come ready to move, connect and choose happiness. **Happiness is not something you find. It is something you build - together.💛** See you there ❤️

reviving gardans, Growing community
reviving gardans, Growing community
**Hands in the Soil: Community Growing, Learning & Craic** This first gathering will be a relaxed mix of **hands-on garden work, shared learning, and good conversation**. It’s about getting together in a real space, doing something practical, and seeing what ideas and connections might grow from there. On the day, we’ll: * Get our **hands dirty** with some light garden work and soil prep * Do some **seed sowing** and talk about what grows well locally * **Make kombucha together** and chat about fermentation, food, and simple home practices * Share knowledge, questions, and experiences around growing food * Enjoy some **fellowship, chats, and a bit of craic** along the way.Alongside the practical side, we’ll also have an open, informal discussion about a bigger idea: * The possibility of **small community “park farms” or gardens** in underused green spaces around Dublin * What that might look like, what’s realistic, and whether others feel drawn to exploring it further There’s no pressure, no expertise required, and no expectation beyond showing up with curiosity and a willingness to pitch in. Whether you’re experienced with gardening or completely new, you’re very welcome. Bring clothes you don’t mind getting muddy, and if you have them, gloves. Everything else will be very low-key. This is just a **first step** — a chance to meet, work, talk, and see if there’s a shared appetite to keep growing something together.
Sunday Evening Zazen meditation
Sunday Evening Zazen meditation
Join us for Zazen Meditation. please arrive at 6pm. newcomers please arrive at 5.45 for an introduction to Zazen meditation.
Zazen Meditation + Dharma talk or Kinhin
Zazen Meditation + Dharma talk or Kinhin
The meaning of the word zen is meditation, zazen means sitting meditation. In zazen practice we begin to know ourselves, and to go beyond the limits of our personal ego. Within our tradition zazen is referred to as shikantaza, not doing, letting go of thoughts, dropping off body and mind. This sitting meditation is the focus of our practice. Language limits our ability to communicate the true nature of zen; it is something that is better understood through practice. We are open to everyone interested in learning about zen. Intro workshop for newcomers is available at 5.30pm each Sunday. The dojo is a sacred place and it is important to be considerate of everyone. We have many people that travel to practise together once a week or once a month. So for that reason it is really essential that we all know the structure of the sitting practise (when to sit, how to do Kinhin, the different bell sounds and their meaning etc), to ensure a silent, safe and meaningful meditation. And it's also great to meet everyone before the sitting practise. And answer any questions you may have. We have zafus and zabutons (mats and cushions) for all to sit on. Chairs are available too. Comfortable clothing for sitting, black or neutral tones best. We greatly appreciate a donation of €5 to cover costs if it's possible for you. Please arrive 10min before start so 6ish (if you're not doing the intro workshop). You are very welcome to our dojo!

"Metal Slinger" by Rachel Schneider
"Metal Slinger" by Rachel Schneider
Join us as we discuss our June pick: Metal Slinger by Rachel Schneider! Book description: Even though she's not one of them, Brynn has spent her life among the Alaha, training to be a guard and waiting for the chance to attend the annual market hosted by the Kenta–the very same people who exiled her adopted community to a life at sea. Going to the market is a rite of passage eagerly anticipated by all young guards, but Brynn does not anticipate breaking a century-long peace treaty while there. Nor does she plan for the intense encounter with an enemy soldier that now threatens to unwind the fragile coexistence between their people–and everything Brynn once believed about herself to be true. Brynn's loyalty to the Alaha is tested when the truth of her identity is brought to light by this soldier who's taken an oath to bring her back to where she belongs. Narrowly escaping death on the violent high seas, Brynn's connection to the Alaha is further tested when she learns about the world of magic she's been denied. She was once certain of her fate and where she belonged, but the dark, knowing eyes of this stranger have her questioning everything, including her heart. Packed with knife fights and seafaring adventure, METAL SLINGER is the smash-hit start to the romantic fantasy duology, the Fire & Metal series
