**The theme for this our next meeting is:** *'Embarrassing feelings and thoughts you don't dare or want to share with people in your life and the world around you'* Welcome to our friendly and supportive Community. Where do we meet and really connect with other gay men in London? We do in Covent Garden. We are at the City Lit College in Room 113 (First floor) **Our discussion themes would always be advertised in advance.** We advertise the topic we’ll be discussing before each meeting, so that you know exactly what to expect before signing up for each particular meeting. Please see the list on our MeetUp profile for potential universal themes relevant to gay/bisexual men, to be covered in our sessions. Ideas are always welcome! *We offer workshops unlike most other gay/bisexual men's therapeutic discussion groups.* **A Speaker** We will at times provide a Speaker for our meetings kickstarting interesting and stimulating discussions. The Speaker can be an expert in their field such as for example an author, a therapist or a philosopher but we are welcoming any of our members to be a Speaker or a demonstrator of exercises such as massage, pilates or yoga. Or perhaps you would want to talk about your profession, if you feel it has relevance to our group. You would just have to contact Dan first for a discussion and planning. **Frequency of meetings / fee** In 2026 we’ll only have one meeting per month in person at the City Lit College in Covent Garden and one meeting online. If there is a demand for more in person meetings we’ll consider having more. We are happy to confirm that our entry prices won’t be raised and that in person meetings remain at £10. Given the irrefutable scientific evidence for evolution at both micro and macro scale, denying it is basically delusional as thinking the earth is flat. But could panspermia explain the origin of life 11. Could limits in our understanding of quantum physics, space and time explain paranormal experiences? 12. What existed before the **big bang** \- how do you get something from "nothing"? I believe our reality is the product of a black hole\. What you reckon? ***So how do we get to the "truth"?*** Both in my journalism days and applying the most advanced empirical research techniques in my client consulting work - it becomes clear the truth is often elusive. No matter how much we triangulate evidence - we can only provide part answers. "All models are wrong, but some are useful" George Box What we think we know and reality diverge leading to that great **paradox of knowledge.** And as the boundary between knowns and unknown converge, we end up with cognitive dissonance and more questions. In that spirit - every credible philosopher & scientist acknowledges - we'll never get to the complete truth but could **experimental methods** get us closer to it? A balanced approach guided by Immanuel Kant's pragmatism and Aristotle's deductive reasoning seems the most rationale framework here but are there any other methodologies? Spend your Sunday exploring one of Kent’s most scenic and historic countryside routes, featuring medieval castle ruins, ancient Roman history, hidden woodland trails, and one of the South East’s most impressive Victorian viaducts. Our hikes offer easy, hassle-free weekend plans, a chance to make new friends, and time to properly switch off in nature - without needing to organise anything yourself. **Logistics** 📍 Start/End point: London Blackfriars train station 🗓 When: Sunday, 28 June - meeting at 8:40AM, leaving at 9:00AM for the 9:13AM train. Estimated return into London at approximately 6:30PM (we will travel together, so please ensure you can commit for the full day) 💷 Cost: £33 (includes return train tickets + guided hike) **What We'll See Along the Way** Less than an hour from London, this route takes us through some of Kent’s most fascinating countryside and historical landmarks. We’ll begin in the picturesque village of Eynsford, home to the ruins of Eynsford Castle, one of the earliest Norman stone castles in England. From there, we’ll follow riverside trails and woodland paths toward the beautiful Lullingstone castle. Along the way, we’ll explore: * The ruins of Eynsford Castle * The remains of a Roman villa dating back nearly 2,000 years * Lullingstone Castle (entrance fee not included) * The dramatic Lullingstone Viaduct viewpoint * Woodland trails, rolling hills, and quiet countryside paths * Riverside scenery and open valley views Expect a mixture of hidden trails, scenic viewpoints, ancient history, and classic Kent countryside. Forest Gayte Pride is a grassroots Pride in Newham, with stalls, entertainment, speakers, and other events from Friday to Sunday (but no parade). Its grown from 1 market stall & queer pub night in 2017, then a 2019 parade; though the primary aim is still giving a voice to LGBTQIA+ Newham residents; events and education, a platform for the community to express themselves in a safer, inclusive space, during pride and beyond; and educating the local community on queer issues. The previous organisers stepped down so a new committee will be running it for this 9th year. We don't yet have a stall on the main Saturday, but if you can help host one during the day do tell us and maybe it's not too late. We've had stickers, badges, and info sheets/leaflets; and badges, flags, books/booklets there in past years.
