London Indoor Bouldering morning
London Indoor Bouldering morning
Join OutdoorLads weekly Saturday bouldering morning event at Vauxwall West - please check our main event page on our website (link in the comments below). We welcome all members of the LGBTQ+ community, and you will be socialising with a supportive group boulderers who are always happy to introduce complete beginners to the sport or solve difficult bouldering problems together. This event is for members of all levels of experience and all are welcome to come along to any of the sessions. Bouldering is unique. There are few sports out there that offer a mental and physical challenge no matter what skill level you are at. Each route consists of several holds that the climber uses, focusing on problem-solving and technical movements to help them reach the top. No two routes are ever the same, and the colour-coded system indicates the difficulty level, so there's a climb for everyone to enjoy! If you have never tried bouldering before, please ensure that you have gone through the centre's safety and induction video beforehand (https://londonclimbingcentres.co.uk/pre-register/) as you will be required to answer a few safety questions when registering at the centre.
Ivinghoe Beacon Trail - Saturday 2 May
Ivinghoe Beacon Trail - Saturday 2 May
Join us as we head to the Chilterns where we will explore fields and forests on our way to the high point of Ivinghoe Beacon. With views stretching as far as the English Midlands, the beacon lit here provided, over the centuries, speedy communication across the country in times of crisis. The beauty of the area is such that in the 1960s it was frequently used as an outdoor location for action-adventure television shows including 'The Avengers' and 'The Saint'. Our hike will take us along the Ridgeway, a trail located at the top of the steep scarp slope of the Chilterns that has been in use since the stone age. Along the way we shall find Grim's Ditch, an ancient fortification dating back to before the arrival of Romans. On our return we shall pass by the Bridgewater Monument, built in honour of a duke whose Lancashire canal was the earliest of its kind and made him the richest noble in the country. We will also walk through the woods of the Ashridge Estate, famed for having some of the largest displays of bluebells anywhere in the south of England. **Meeting place**: Euston Railway Station - in the centre of the station, in front of the outlets marked as 12-13-14 on the station map - see the following link: [CCS0723844574-001_London Euston Map 2023](https://assets.nationalrail.co.uk/e8xgegruud3g/5gcSgkwWx5WJL0KctzneMM/e1d2ccd9465097ce5bfb391a5c33d19a/CCS0723844574-001_London_Euston_Map_2023v3.pdf) It's not far from platforms 7 and 8. **Meeting time**: 10.00AM (for 10.42 train) **Price**: £5. Please pay before the trip using the secure PayPal link (you will be automatically taken to PayPal when you RSVP YES). London-Tring standard rail fare is £14.80 return - one third off for railcard users or Group Save (you can team up for a minimum of three people for this on the day.) **Distance**: 16 km/10 miles **Hike level**: easy to medium (you need to be reasonably fit to participate in this activity) **Expected return to London**: 7PM (please commit yourself for a full day) **Things to bring**: water, packed lunch, waterproof clothing, hiking boots, sunscreen or hat

From the northern end we pass one of these greens before delving into a landscape of rolling chalk downland, with its patchwork of pastures, hedgerows and ancient woodland. At the southern end of Meopham we pause at the second green to admire **Killick’s Windmill**, a rare 19th-century smock mill, and to take in the traditional village atmosphere — perhaps even a cricket match on the green. (Michael Gambon, of Dumbledore fame, also lived here.) From here our route leads into quiet **North Downs valleys**, where wildlife thrives and chalk grasslands give way to pockets of shady woodland. The trail takes us through the charming old town of **Cobham**, rich in heritage, before we enter **Camer Park**, a former estate with sweeping meadows and centuries-old trees. Our hike concludes in the hamlet of **Sole Street**, after a day immersed in the timeless Kent countryside of meadows, woods and historic villages. 🧭 **Guide:** • Leader: [KEVIN](https://www.outdooraholics.co.uk/MeetTheOutdooraholics.pdf) • Contact (hike day only): 07918 329854 🍽️ **Food:** • Bring a packed lunch • Pub visit after the hike (drinks optional) 🎒**What to Bring** • Hiking boots/shoes • Water (2 litres minimum) • Packed lunch • Waterproofs (jacket and trousers) • Hat and gloves if cold • Train tickets are arranged – just meet us at the meeting point ⚠️ **Safety** Your guide is a trained hike leader and Outdoor Activity First Aider ❓ **Want to Know More?** • [New to Our Trips?](https://outdooraholics.co.uk/new_to_our_day_hikes.pdf) (perfect for first-timers, answers “what to expect”) • [About Us](https://outdooraholics.co.uk/about_us.pdf) (who Outdooraholics are, credibility, history) • [FAQs](https://outdooraholics.co.uk/FAQ.pdf) (covers common queries) 📲 **Explore More &** **Stay Connected** [Day hikes list](https://outdooraholics.co.uk/hikesbygrade.pdf) 👣 [Calendar - All trips](https://www.meetup.com/outdooraholics/events/calendar/) 📖 [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/outdooraholics/) 📸 [Facebook page](https://www.facebook.com/Outdooraholics) & [Photos group](https://www.facebook.com/groups/Outdooraholics) 📄 **Terms and Conditions** By signing up or attending you agree to our [Terms and Conditions](https://outdooraholics.co.uk/TermsConditionsOutdooraholicsHikingUK.pdf) © Outdooraholics Hiking UK Ltd 2026 E & OE

Regents Park Rounders and Social/Board Games
Regents Park Rounders and Social/Board Games
**Come join us for some fun in the park** This is a weekly social park gathering with optional sports and board / social games. 2pm Rounders 3:30pm Social/Board games in the park- please sign up separately [HERE](https://www.meetup.com/games-friends/)[.](https://meetu.ps/e/PfHPb/z45zT/i) **How to play rounders** Not played rounders before? It's a traditional English sport for everyone, even the unsporty. Here's a video of us playing: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6Bya3T5W3k](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6Bya3T5W3k) Rounders is a bat and ball game similar to baseball played by two teams. Your team will be either fielding or batting before swapping after the innings. When batting, the aim is to hit the ball, then try and run around the four posts. Your team gets a rounder if you make it round the four posts without stopping or getting out. You are out if when you hit the ball someone catches the ball before it reaches the ground or someone stumps a post before you get there. The rules will be explained at the beginning of each meetup with a practice round at the beginning. We play a slightly modified version of the official rules where if you are out, it's not game over for you. Your team will lose a life instead. This will give everyone multiple opportunities to bat. **It's very simple to pick up and the ball we use is very soft. We are very beginner friendly and the focus is on having fun rather than being competitive**. We attract attendees of all ages and sporting level. You are welcome to come and watch only too. We usually have a few people who do so while having a picnic and enjoying the park. **Come and meet us** Meet at 2pm in Regents Park. Here is the map of where we will be playing in the park (Cumberland Green): [https://www.notion.so/hyau/Rounders-at-Regents-Park-8bc419b72dde4aacaec3870d291636be](https://www.notion.so/hyau/Rounders-at-Regents-Park-8bc419b72dde4aacaec3870d291636be) You can also find us around here: [https://what3words.com/swim.jolly.youth](https://what3words.com/swim.jolly.youth) (just look out for our white rounders bases (long, white sticks) and you can usually spot us. Please feel free to bring food and drinks. The main rounders game will finish at 3:30pm and this is followed by social/board games or beginner friendly mixed gender football. **Social/Board Games** Please check out our [separate meetup event](https://www.meetup.com/games-friends/) for details and sign up there! **Football** For mixed gender football we aim to have roughly equal numbers of men and women and 3 ability levels (Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced). There may be limited spaces for men for football as we are always oversubscribed. **Free or play for charity** Our Sunday social and rounders events are free for everyone. The organisers volunteer their time and fund for the equipment, public liability insurance, marketing and meetup costs to make this happen. We would like our events to raise awareness and money for worthwhile charities. If you appreciate our events, please consider making a donation on our fundraising page to our supported charity, War Child. To donate and for more info, please visit: [https://www.justgiving.com/page/social-sports-mix-warchild](https://www.justgiving.com/page/social-sports-mix-warchild) We will also promote fundraising pages suggested or owned by our attendees.
