Moderated by **[Wiebke Steffen](https://www.linkedin.com/in/wiebke-steffen/)**, Senior UX Researcher at GetYourGuide, our panelists bring perspectives from across the product spectrum: **Noah Fraenkel** \- GovTech Consultant @ Possible **[Ziyong Lin](https://www.linkedin.com/in/ziyong-lin-55714b25/)** \- Lead UX Researcher @ GetYourGuide **[Jake Mongaya](https://www.linkedin.com/in/jakemongaya/)** \- Engineering Manager @ SumUp **[Maxim Romanovsky](https://www.linkedin.com/in/maxim-romanovsky/)** \- VP \- Head of AI & Product Engineering @ Deutsche Bank Expect honest takes, productive tension, and the kind of dialogue that actually moves the needle. **🤝7:45 pm:** Networking \* \* \* \* \* \* \* \* \* \* **Everyone is racing to build with AI. But who is building it responsibly?** There's a gold rush happening in tech right now and almost everyone is caught up in the excitement. AI features are being shipped at a rapid speed, products are being "enhanced" with machine intelligence overnight, and the pressure to move fast has never been higher. But in the rush to innovate, some critical questions are getting buried: *Who's accountable when AI gets it wrong? How much should we hand over to automation and what do we silently lose when we do? And what are the risks we're not even seeing yet?* These aren't hypothetical concerns. They're live, urgent, and sitting inside the products we're building right now. **It's time to have the conversation that some teams are avoiding.** UXDX Berlin is back! Join us at the GetYourGuide office in Prenzlauer Berg, where we will tackle the theme that every designer, researcher, and engineer needs to reckon with: **"Designing Responsible AI: Trust, Autonomy & Hidden Risk"** **Why This Event Matters** The tools are powerful. The timelines are short. The consequences for users, for society, for trust in technology are long. If you're building products with AI, this isn't an optional conversation. It's the one you need to be in the room for. **Come ready to think. Come ready to question. Come ready to build better.** Thank you [GetYourGuide](https://www.getyourguide.com/) for supporting the event!

Soundground: free improvised music workshop
**A place to meet sound, without maps** Facilitated by **Vesti Gium (they/them)** Everyone enters as they are. No score. No threshold of skill. We follow the room, moment by moment— listening, nudging, letting the music find itself. A breath, a shoelace, a laugh, a footstep— each carries weight. Silence is welcomed; noise is celebrated. There are no wrong directions here. We practise a listening that reaches outward and inward: to ourselves, to one another, to the space we shape together. That is where the music begins. * 🌀 Bring a voice, an object, an instrument, a movement—or nothing at all. * ✨ **Priority given to FLINTA folks and people with migration backgrounds.** * 🎧 No experience needed. Co-Working Session (Deep Work, all types of work welcome)
Co-Working Session (Deep Work, all types of work welcome)
Hello! I’m organising a coworking + socialising session for all of us who are working on projects (e.g. our own creations, freelance or remote work) but don't feel like sitting alone at home. 🙂 To ensure that we have time for both socialising AND working, we will be using the so-called “Pomodoro” technique: **50 mins deep work** (silent), followed by **10 mins break** to socialise. And then repeat! You are welcome to join whatever your personal background is, and whatever project you are working on. I (the host) speak English and German, so either language is fine. ——————————————————- AGENDA: * **Short Intro** Tell us who you are and share something about what you will be working on today * **Pomodoro Session** \- 3x \(3h\) Each Pomodoro session consists of 50 mins focused “deep work” (no talking, no interruptions, **phones on silent mode**) -> then 10 mins break: a chance to share your progress with others -> Repeat * **15 mins Wrap Up** Celebrate what you achieved and get to know others 😊 ———— The location is **Espresso House near Checkpoint Charlie** (they have multiple outlets - so be sure to go to the correct one!) Wifi + power plugs are available - but best to bring a fully charged laptop, just in case 🙃 You **do not** have to pay anything. But since we are using the café space, it is common courtesy to buy at least one drink (coffee costs roughly **4 Euros**).

AI Is Already Screening You – Learn How to Win Jobs, Clients & Projects
AI Is Already Screening You – Learn How to Win Jobs, Clients & Projects
Learn how to use AI to get past screening systems and land real opportunities — from jobs to freelance projects. Companies are already using AI to filter CVs before a human ever reads them. That's the reality. But here's the thing - AI is just a tool. And tools can be used by both sides. In this hands-on workshop - hosted by the Smart Coop Germany - you'll learn how to use Claude AI to write applications that work with AI screening systems, not against them. Sharper CVs, stronger cover letters, better chances. This workshop is part of Smart's commitment to its community: freelancers who are self-employed, but not alone. Whether you're looking for your next client, a new project, or a full-time role - this is for you. What to bring: \- Laptop or iPad \(smartphone only = tough mode 😅\) \- Claude account \(free tier works\, paid recommended\) \- Your CV \+ a cover letter \(any version\) \- LinkedIn or Xing profile as PDF if you have one \- 1\-2 digital photos of yourself or your work Limited to \~15 people - because this is a real workshop, not a lecture. Trainer: Thomas Fischer is a Berlin-based IT consultant with 15+ years in the game. While studying Security & Safety Engineering, he started building an Arduino-based monitoring system for a nuclear reactor. As a consultant, he made his mark building the test infrastructure for the VPN-Zugangsdienst of Germany's electronic health card. He ran Europe's first car-hacking workshop at Confidence in Cracow and has presented at security conferences in Odessa, Budapest, and Cracow. In the last year, he dove deep into Berlin's AI scene, publishing his own apps and building Industry 4.0 ecosystems. Hosted at Smart Cooperative Germany as the part of WorkCoopHub projects, funded by BMWE.
Church on Sunday (Worship in English)
Church on Sunday (Worship in English)
**Join Us for Sunday Worship at the American Church in Berlin!** The American Church in Berlin (ACB) is an **ecumenical Protestant congregation** where people from *many* Christian traditions worship together—Lutheran, Reformed/Presbyterian, Anglican/Episcopal, Methodist, Baptist, non-denominational, Roman Catholic, and even a few Eastern Orthodox members. Wherever you come from, you’ll find a place where you can feel at home. Our worship is **traditional and liturgical**, rooted in the rich patterns of the Christian church and easy for both Protestants and Roman Catholics to enjoy. We celebrate **Holy Communion every Sunday and every festival day**, and all baptized Christians are welcome at the Lord’s Table. ACB is an **extraordinarily diverse congregation**, with members from around the world. On any given Sunday you’ll find long-time Berlin residents, young adults, teenagers who attend on their own, families with children, seniors, and many visitors and tourists passing through the city. Our community is known for its **warm and friendly fellowship**—it’s one of the things people talk about most after visiting. Some folks dress formally and others show up in jeans and sneakers; we sit side by side without judgment. **Come exactly as you are.** Most importantly: **our welcome is for everybody—EVERYBODY.** If you’re looking for a church home, a place to pray, just looking to connect, or simply a peaceful hour of worship during your travels, you’re invited. We’d love to welcome you this Sunday! [ACB website](www.americanchurchberlin.de)

Building in Data: From AI Agents to Career Shifts | Data Engineering Meetup
Dear data-loving community, we’re excited to invite you to our next Meetup! This time in collaboration with [Spiced Academy](https://www.spiced-academy.com/en), who will be hosting us at their space. Join us on April 23 in Berlin and bring all your questions! :) **Tom Kaltofen: *"Building Deterministic Context Layers for AI Agents"*** [Tom Kaltofen](https://www.linkedin.com/in/tomkaltofen/) is an Engineer at [DHL Data & AI](https://www.linkedin.com/company/dhl-data-ai/) and a Creator at [mloda.ai.](http://mloda.ai.) About his keynote: "Data access and reuse are still unsolved, and AI agents are making it worse. This talk goes deeper into that problem: AI agents depend on reliable context (data, features, intermediate state) to make correct decisions. In practice, this context is tied to specific pipelines or infrastructure, leading to brittle systems when moving from prototype to production. I'll show how a plugin-based approach lets teams build deterministic context layers: separating what you compute from how you compute it, so the same feature definitions work on a laptop and in production. The talk includes a live demo where an AI agent discovers and queries data features programmatically. " **Behnaz Derakhshani: *"What If I Started Today? Rethinking Career Switching in the AI Era"*** [Behnaz Derakhshani](https://www.linkedin.com/in/behnaz-derakhshani-63342775/) works as a Data Engineer at [Diconium](https://diconium.com). She shares her personal career shift from finance to data engineering, including the unfiltered challenges and lessons along the way. About her keynote: "Eight years ago, there was no AI to debug my logic, just documentation and Stack Overflow. Now as a Data Engineer, I’m breaking down the lessons learned from my finance to tech transition and why AI makes this the most exciting (and accessible) time to pivot." ✧ ✧ ✧ **What to expect:** * Two expert talks and Q&A * A welcoming atmosphere with networking opportunities * Some snacks & drinks to fuel your thoughts :) ✧ ✧ ✧ **Timetable:** * 18:30 - Event admission * 18:50 - Welcome & Introduction * 19:00 - Tom Kaltofen: *"Building Deterministic Context Layers for AI Agents"* * 19:30 - 5 minutes break * 19:35 - Behnaz Derakhshani: *"What If I Started Today? How to Take Control of YOUR Mental Health
How to Take Control of YOUR Mental Health
It’s time to take control of your mental health. How do you get rid of stress, anxiety and uncertainty? These emotions are buried deep in your reactive mind. Find out what the reactive mind is, and in the process find yourself. Here is the secret of being positive and free: Thinking positively is not enough. You also have to get rid of the negative thinking. Your mind is like a garden. You can plant many beautiful flowers in it, but if you don't get rid of the weeds when you plant your flowers, the weeds will soon take over the whole garden. A positive thought is like a flower in your mental garden, and a negative thought is like a weed. You cannot expect to have a positive mindset if you continue to have negative thoughts dwelling and growing there. So, how do you get rid of the negative thoughts? That's what this Meetup is all about. Attend this local meeting and find out! The Meetup event will be led by a consultant who had helped many people live happier in life. Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to this local event. We look forward to seeing you there. This group is created by the Dianetics & Scientology life improvement center.
