July 2026 will be the year we finally make our data truly work for us 🤞
Development is moving faster than ever.
AI is knocking on every door.
Yet the most fundamental challenge remains unchanged — and stubbornly hard:
Preparing data.
Making it available, reliable, and actually usable in production.
Ironically? This hasn’t gotten easier with time.
That’s exactly why we’re inviting you to a special meetup, hosted by Voyantis,
at their beautiful new offices on Yehudit Blvd. in Tel Aviv 🌿
An evening of real production stories about:
* How to leverage data to accelerate systems, teams, and AI
* How to build smart data layers that help data think — not just be queried
🎤 On stage:
Liran Yogev, Yuval Gorchover, Moni Mezraoui
Sharing practical approaches you can take home and try yourself.

AI-First Coding: Closing the Gap Between Skeptics and Practitioners in Dev Teams
AI coding tools are everywhere now, but adoption is uneven. Some developers use them daily; others remain skeptical. Getting a whole team on board is harder than it looks.
This meetup explores the practical side of that challenge — how to bridge the gap between enthusiasts and skeptics, and what actually works when rolling out AI coding across a team.
Evgeny Potapov, engineering manager with over 20 years of experience and cofounder of US-based startup ApexData, will share lessons from 1.5 years of navigating this shift:
— Why some developers hesitate, and the psychology behind it
— What gets adopted easily, and which team practices help
— When AI coding won't work and forcing adoption makes no sense
— How to push back when AI is the wrong tool for the job
If you're a developer, tech lead, or engineering manager facing similar questions, this is a chance to learn from real experience and connect with others on the same path.
🕒 Schedule:

When Roadmaps Break: Product Leadership in the Real World
You plan your roadmap carefully, but then reality happens. As early-year sales escalations and market signals disrupt your strategy, this meetup explores how to embrace uncertainty rather than resist it. We will focus on adopting a “verify, don’t assume” mindset and shifting your leadership goal from preventing change to reducing the cost of change. You will learn how to detect strategic risks and respond with a clear decision protocol. You’ll also learn how to build the continuous feedback loop and cultural foundations needed to keep your product process resilient throughout the year. Walk away with practical frameworks for leading teams and sustaining a healthy product engine when roadmaps inevitably break.
**Agenda:**
* 18:30 - Assembling: Food, drinks & schmoozing!
* 19:00 – Tal Laufer, Product Leader "The beauty of a broken roadmap - why do roadmaps break, or when they should be"
* 19:15 - Q&A #1
* 19:20 – Asaf Frenkel, Product Growth Lead @ Check Point "When the Q1 Roadmap Breaks: A Product Leader's Incident Response Plan"
* 19:35 - Q&A #2
* 19:40 – Haim Ben Ami, CEO @ Craft.io - "Building the Feedback Loop: How to Nurture a Healthy Product Process"
* 19:55 - Q&A #3
* 20:00 - More Schmoozing: Eating to the last bite, until they kick us out.

Intro to GitHub Copilot: Your AI Pair Programmer - Chris Steele
**Important time note:** Please plan on arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 as the elevators lock after 6 and you'll need to message us and we'll need to come get you.
The building address is 4450 Bridge Park
The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400
**Abstract**
GitHub Copilot is rapidly changing how developers write, understand, and maintain code. Powered by generative AI and deeply integrated into modern development environments, Copilot acts as an intelligent coding assistant, helping developers move faster while maintaining quality and focus.
In this session, we’ll explore what GitHub Copilot is, how it works, and where it fits into a real-world developer workflow. We’ll break down what Copilot can (and cannot) do, where it can be used, and how licensing differs for individuals and organizations. Most importantly, this talk goes beyond theory with a live, hands-on demo showcasing Copilot inside the IDE and on GitHub, demonstrating how it can assist with code generation, refactoring, learning new APIs, and accelerating day-to-day development tasks.
Designed for developers, technical leads, and engineering managers, this session provides a practical introduction to AI-assisted development, highlights best practices for getting value from Copilot, and closes with guidance on how to continue learning and evolving alongside this rapidly advancing tool.
Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of how GitHub Copilot can enhance productivity, improve developer experience, and fit into modern software teams today, not someday.

**Presentation Title:**
**Privacy Components That Should Actually Matter to Development Teams**
Many teams expect that privacy is taken care of by the company’s security program or addressed by the legal and compliance teams. Fact is, privacy is often lagging behind security when it comes to software development, and there are still obligations that need to make their way into the lifecycle. And, in many cases, devs never even see the obligations that exist on paper to clients!
In each business function of Governance, Design, Implementation, Verification, and Operations, there are privacy considerations that need to be made. The earlier you can get these considerations locked in, the more time it saves you later when there’s an incident, a user exercising their rights, or simply scaling up!

Lessons from npm's Dark Side: These Are Not the Packages You're Looking For
**Lessons from npm's Dark Side: These Are Not the Packages You're Looking For**
Malware is all about scale and time: How can I hit the most people in the shortest time? But not all ecosystems are equally vulnerable. The JavaScript ecosystem, particularly its package manager npm, is arguably the most vulnerable to supply chain malware attacks. And with JavaScript being the language of the web, this is a problem that impacts an estimated 27.4 million developers. So what are we to do? In this session learn about:
* Why attackers target JavaScript/npm
* A case study of 5 attacks
* Whether we can trust maintainers to adopt security controls (research!)
* What you can do to protect yourself and your company from malware
**What to Expect**
* Introductions and Updates on chapter events and engagement ideas
* Primary presentation
* Network with fellow professionals who care about building and securing great software.
* **Food & Drink provided for in-person attendees! (please RSVP to ensure accurate head count)**
(\* OWASP does not endorse or recommend commercial products or services, allowing our community to remain vendor neutral with the collective wisdom of the best minds in software security)
