Please arrive early if this is a concern. * Access to our full game library for the duration of your visit * $4 off any food or drink item (valid same day only) * Friendly staff on hand to recommend games and help you get started! **💬Be Kind & Respectful** * Treat others with courtesy, patience, and good sportsmanship. * All skill levels are welcome — help newcomers feel included! * Disagreements are fine, but bullying, shouting, or rude behavior is not. **🚫 Zero Tolerance for Harassment** * Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes: * Unwanted touching, comments, or attention * Hate speech, slurs, or discrimination based on race, gender, sexuality, ability, religion, or background. * Stalking or intimidation * Inappropriate or sexual behavior **🧼 Help Keep It Fresh (Hygiene Policy)** * Please arrive clean, in freshly laundered clothes, and use deodorant. * Wash your hands before games, especially after eating. * We will take action on repeat offenders if hygiene becomes an issue. **🧍 Respect Personal Space & Boundaries** * Ask before touching someone or joining a game. * No pressuring others into playing or socializing. * If someone says “no” or seems uncomfortable, respect it immediately. **🎥 Photos & Privacy** * Always ask before taking someone’s photo or video. * Do not post images of others without permission. **🧑‍⚖️ A Message from the Venue** * The venue will close at 11:00 PM sharp. Please keep this in mind when starting new games near closing time. * Our staff are here to help. Hello Meeples!!!! I host board game night every Thursday at Face to Face Games, located at 1398 Danforth Ave (about a 3 min walk from Greenwood station, or a 7 min walk from Coxwell station)! How it works I’ll be seated at the table at the very back right-hand corner of Face to Face Games (near the washrooms). We usually have 2 tables reserved for our group. (If you can’t find us, ask one of the staff members.) I’ll bring a variety of games from my own collection to board game night, but attendees are free to bring any of their own games as well! Got a brand new game you’ve been dying to play but never have enough players? Bring it along! Got a retro game that you think is a hidden gem? Bring it along and spread the joy! I usually come early at around 4:30pm. If there are other attendees who also arrive early, then we can play some shorter games until 6pm. Six o’clock is when the event officially starts and is when most attendees start trickling in. Once we have most people assembled, we collectively decide which games we want to play and split into groups accordingly. We usually have one group tackling a heavy board game (ie. a game that tends to be more complex and takes longer to finish) while the others play short to medium-length games, but this is very flexible and will depend on turnout and the kinds of games people bring. If you can only get here later or if you arrive late, don’t fret. We’ll see what game you can join so that you can get playing as soon as possible! Rules of the Tables: We are a cool and relaxed group - we swear! But to ensure things run smoothly and that everyone is having fun, we do some some rules we would like attendees to follow: \- Please be respectful of people’s games and property\. For example\, if you’re having a snack \(please share\!\)\, make sure your fingers are clean before you handle cards\, mats\, meeples\, and the like\. People are generous to bring their games to board game night\, so we want to be mindful not to damage or dirty their stuff\. \- Please be mindful of your cellphone usage during the game\. Of course this doesn’t mean you can’t use your cellphone to shoot a quick text message or to check something quickly \- we’re not monsters\! However\, if you’re always focused on your cellphone \(for example\, watching a video or playing a cellphone game\) and are not paying attention to the rules being explained\, or you constantly need the other players to repeat themselves as to what sick moves they just made\, then it ends up taking away from everyone’s enjoyment of the game\. \- Please be decent\, in dress and in conduct\. No bullying\, excessive swearing\, racist or sexist language\, and all the other bad stuff\.

Please see our photo gallery for a sample of the games we play. We do not typically table mass market games (Chess, Clue, Monopoly etc.) We often table a variety of games, new and old, to keep things fresh. It is not required that you bring any games yourself, although it is appreciated if you do. In that case, please be prepared to teach whichever games you bring. Please do your best to support our venue LVLUP Games. Consider buying all your board games and accessories there. The focus for each event is to have fun so please adhere to our event etiquette (Jan 2026): 1. Please show up on time (we usually start the non-filler games right when the event starts). 2. Please only attend an event if you've already RSVP'd. Please change your RSVP status if you have to cancel (we typically wait a bit if we think you're stuck in traffic). 3. Please be kind to other players at your table: *No excessively long turns - No silly arguments over rules (if there's ambiguity, just agree on something temporarily for the evening) *No rolling back your moves in previous turns 1. You can invite a non-Dad guest every now and then but they cannot be a regular member of the group. 2. Please leave the arguments about politics at home. 3. The Forge does have a full bar and kitchen. There is no cover charge but they do request all attendees to purchase a minimum of ~20 per person. Soft drink refills are 1 each. Please support our hosts so we can continue to provide great events for the group! The Forge has a large library of games available for us to enjoy. Hosts and regulars will also provide numerous popular games but please bring any games you would like to teach and/or play. Doors open at 6, and we expect gaming to be rolling by around 630. Please promptly end your games and clear out the space at 10pm when the bar closes. We encourage socializing but do not permit disruptive behavior of any kind. Thank you for your continued commitment to providing a fun and welcoming space to veteran, newbie, and rookie gamers in the Columbus area. Parking can sometimes fill esrly. There is additional parking lot behind the neighboring Mexican restaurant that is free and easy to walk from but it's a bit hidden.

This is a time where players of all ages, and skill levels can gather and enjoy a nice Sunday full of Chess!
