HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! The National Gallery's magnificent collection is far too large to visit in one go. By choosing to follow a specific theme it is possible to learn styles and attitudes of different periods in art history. For this first thematic tour - based on a Guide to Great Themes in Art which I am currently writing ( publication date Spring 2027) - let's look at LOVE to coincide with next day's Valentine's Day. ( Friday evenings are less crowded than Saturdays) We will recognise all aspects of love - its various highs and lows - in the art of Botticelli, Titian, Bronzino, Vermeer, Gainsborough and many others. The session is intended as an informal forum for conversation or just quiet contemplation of beautiful art at the end of a busy week . It promises to be educational as well ad engaging, relaxing and fun. Looking forward to seeing you there!

A time trip through history of English perfume houses and their famous clients, from heritage colognes to modern niche perfumery.\*\* If you’re a perfume lover, then we know you’re going to love a historical Perfume Walk through London’s vibrant, heritage-rich Mayfair… Perfume Walks are going to be sauntering through the world of scent, taking in the sights and smells of London’s historic and modern fragrance houses. The perfume walk is an invite to have a glimpse of London history through perfumes, their creators and people who wore them. The tour takes about three hours during which we will visit heritage perfume shops and find out the exciting history of old brands like **Floris**, **Atkinson’s, Penhaligon’s, Grossmith**, and **Santa Maria Novella**, as well as the new players like **Ormonde Jayne** and **Roja Dove** who are creating history of English perfumery in front of our eyes. Our partners prepared treats and gifts for all our guests. EVERY GUEST RECEIVES A GOODY BAG. Please check the weather forecast for London and dress accordingly on the day of the walk. You will be introduced to the necessary materials and techniques needed to make this type of cushion, including choosing the right fabric, measuring and cutting, sewing techniques, and stuffing methods. The workshop will teach you step-by-step how to create your own, including how to identify the different types of materials that can be used to make one. You will learn how to select the right fabric, including considerations such as texture, weight, and durability. Next, you will be introduced to the techniques involved in measuring and cutting the fabric, including how to create a pattern, and how to ensure that the cushion will be the right size and shape.
