Letโs Play CATAN - Play, Socialize & Fun
Join our **CATAN** Meetup to play, socialize, and enjoy this classic board game.
Everyoneโs welcome! Whether youโre a beginner or an experienced player. Expect fun, friendly games, laughter, and new friends.
๐ Please RSVP only if you plan to attend.
***
**How to Play (Quick Guide):**
* **Setup:** Build the island with hex tiles, place number tokens, roads, settlements, and give each player starting resources.
* **Goal:** Be the first player to reach **10 victory points**.
* **Turn order:** On your turn, roll two dice to produce resources, then trade and build.
* **Resource production:** Players gain resources (wood, brick, sheep, wheat, ore) from tiles next to their settlements/cities when the tileโs number is rolled.
* **Robber:** If a 7 is rolled, players with too many cards discard half; move the robber to block a tile and steal a card.
* **Trading:** Trade resources with other players or with the bank (usually 4:1, better with ports).
* **Building:** Spend resources to build roads, settlements, cities, or buy development cards.
* **Victory points:** Earn points from settlements, cities, development cards, Longest Road, and Largest Army.
* **Winning:** The first player to reach 10 victory points on their turn wins.

Blood on the Clocktower at Electric Social! (beginner/intermediate)
*Trialing a new location now that Brewdog has closed, please bear with us while we get back on our feet :)*
Hi folks, this is the special meetup group for the weekly Sunday Blood on the Clocktower games in Berlin, currently at Electric Social near Alexanderplatz. We run beginner-friendly and intermediate-level games throughout the afternoon and evening. **Friendly newcomers of all skill levels are welcome, no experience required!**
Our group aims to provide a fun and welcoming space to experience this thrilling game of social deception. **We focus on promoting a positive and fun group atmosphere, where players donโt take themselves or the game too seriously, whether theyโre heroically winning or spectacularly losing.** Our players follow the code of conduct for the Berlin Board Gamers group and are expected to treat each other with respect and consideration โ โkilling with grace, and dying with dignityโ.
We are usually able to offer two simultaneous games on Sundays. If you are marked as "attending" in Meetup and are in your seat at 15:00, your place is guaranteed for as long as you want to stay. All other seats are first come, first served. We always run at least one beginner-friendly game of the basic version of Clocktower ("Trouble Brewing") throughout the afternoon and evening. We also usually have enough players for a second intermediate-level game. If you are already very familiar with Clocktower, consider also joining our Tuesday meetup for advanced players, when we play with complex custom scripts and characters.
Blood on the Clocktower is a deep, mechanical game of murder and mystery, lies and logic, deduction and deceptionโฆ think Werewolf on steroids. Each player receives a unique secret role and plays either for the good team โ the uninformed majority, gathering info and working with others to solve the puzzle โ or the evil team, the informed minority, scheming to eliminate good players and protect their demon from execution. In our beginner games no prior experience is expected and we will gladly explain the game rules to any newcomers.
We play in English so players should be able to understand and express themselves in English: an exception is possible for one pair of players willing to play together (as a โRevolutionaryโ pair) where one player can interpret into and out of English. Please let us know in advance if this is the case.

0.1% Accurate- English Comedy Night
**Step right up for a fortune-telling experience that's barely accurate, but definitely unforgettable.**
Magdalena, the "fortune teller", combines a crystal ball, questionable predictions and a healthy dose of dark humour in a show that's as absurd as it is entertaining.
Described by the 'Scotsman' (top newspaper in the UK) as 'unexpected, clever, ridiculous but great stuff, crystal ball and all', this interactive comedy has left audiences worldwide laughing and wondering what just happened.
Some say it's life-changing, others call it pure nonsense-but no one escapes without a few laughs, some spirit summoning and answers you probably didn't want.
**Sold out run in Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2025**
Reserve your seat for just โฌ2, and at the end of the show, you decide what it was worth (suggested contribution: โฌ10-15). Reservations are held until 10 minutes before the show starts. This is a paid showโyou just get to choose how much to pay.

Casual Boardgames - make friends, then beat them in games
Welcome to Casual Boardgames, where we enjoy classic tabletop games and social deduction games while bonding over good food, drinks, and great conversations.
โฉWe started this group to meet new people and make new friends, and bonding over games in a relaxed atmosphere is a great way to do that.
We currently meet near route 23 and Polaris Parkway, and this is close to areas like Powell, Lewis Center, Worthington, and parts of Westerville and Columbus.
โฉFeel free to bring your own games or play one of the many games our members bring. If you are inexperienced, we will help you learn.
โฉHere are just a few examples of the kind of games we play.
โฉTabletop/board games: Splendor, Catan, Azul, Dominion, 7 Wondersโฆ
โฉSocial deduction games: Code Names, Chameleon, Werewordsโฆ
โฉIMPORTANT:
โฉ1. While we love playing a variety of games and competing, we are not just about the games. We interact and talk while playing, and this leads to a lot of laughter and fun. If you just want to compete and focus solely on the game, then this is probably not the group you are looking for.
โฉ2. Many people join groups like this and never (or rarely) show up after weeks or months. If you join and never really come, we will eventually remove you from the group as a courtesy to our members. Why? Because limiting group conversations (on the app) to regular members makes communication and planning much easier. Also, while it may be rare, it protects members from people who join because they are interested in following a person instead of having a real interest in our group. If you get removed, it is just because you havenโt come, and we follow this protocol as a courtesy to our regular game players.

Sunday Board Games at Land-Grant Brewing
We'll play board games at the [Land-Grant Brewing Company](https://landgrantbrewing.com/). They have multiple [food trucks](https://landgrantbrewing.com/food/) on Sundays. Ray Ray's also has coffee, and the brewery has free water (and Jeni's ice cream).
You can come late or leave early. Please just sign up so I know to expect you.
**Notes on Parking**
* You'll (probably) have to park on the street, but street parking is free on Sundays.
* There are [parking garages](https://landgrantbrewing.com/parking/) a little farther away if you want. These are obviously not free, though.
* There is a [lot next door](https://www.google.com/maps/place/39%C2%B057'26.0%22N+83%C2%B000'40.9%22W/@39.957211,-83.0119921,19z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m12!1m7!3m6!1s0x88388f3efd89238b:0xc139207386232411!2sLand-Grant+Brewing+Company!8m2!3d39.9577613!4d-83.011426!16s%2Fg%2F1pzt7t9df!3m3!8m2!3d39.957211!4d-83.011347?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI2MDEyMS4wIKXMDSoKLDEwMDc5MjA3MUgBUAM%3D) to the brewery that you're allowed to park in, but it is not free. I've never parked there, so I don't know anything about rates. (I'm told though that if you eat at Milo's Deli next door to this lot that Milo's will stamp your parking so it's free.)
* You're going to see odd signs on [Lucas St](https://www.google.com/maps/place/39%C2%B057'26.1%22N+83%C2%B000'40.3%22W/@39.957256,-83.0124134,19z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m10!1m5!3m4!2zMznCsDU3JzI4LjgiTiA4M8KwMDAnNDEuNSJX!8m2!3d39.957993!4d-83.011536!3m3!8m2!3d39.957256!4d-83.011197?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI2MDEyMS4wIKXMDSoKLDEwMDc5MjA3MUgBUAM%3D) (saying it's a "private street") that will lead you to believe you're not allowed to park there, but you actually are.
* Columbus parking cops literally do not work on Sundays. This means that, even if you're driving a non-EV, you can park in the EV spots near the brewery.
**Games**
I do bring many games, but please bring some of your own as well.
