đ Research Tuesday is Back: International User Research
**The wait is over!** After a long hiatus, we are reviving our favorite morning tradition. Research Tuesday is returning as a monthly ritual for the UX community to meet, share, and discuss the "no-filter" reality of our craft.
Weâve missed the energy of in-person discussions, and weâre thrilled to start this new chapter with you.
**đĄ The Vibe: No Cameras, Just Conversations**
If youâre new here, this is our secret sauce: **We never record or stream our meetups.** We believe the best insights come from a safe space where speakers and participants can be brutally honest about what worked - and what didn't.
**đ This Month: International Research**
Conducting research across different cultures, languages, and time zones brings a unique set of challenges. How do we adapt our methods for global markets? What are the biggest cultural pitfalls? Our speakers will "kick off" the topic with informal presentations, followed by a deep-dive discussion.
**Language note:** Since the topic is international and our speakers are global, this specific meetup will be held in **English**.
**đ Our Speakers:**
**Martina BeneĆĄovĂĄ**
Martina is a UX Researcher at Livesport with over 15 years of experience across the research world. Her career includes working for GfK, Vodafone and Unilever, where she moved between consumer insights, brand management and market research roles. She studied Sociology at Oxford Brookes University and has worked across multiple countries and markets throughout her career. At Research Tuesday, she'll be talking about the challenges and realities of running research internationally.
**Carolina Lourenço Rosa**
Carolina is a Brazilian UX Researcher based in Portugal. With a background in Journalism and Film, she spent over a decade working as a content producer and researcher in media companies, NGOs, and film productions before transitioning to UX in 2022. Today, she works at Livesport conducting qualitative interviews with Brazilian and Portuguese users while coordinating a network of qualitative researchers across Italy, Nigeria, the UK, Colombia, and South Korea. At Research Tuesday, sheâll share her experiences and learnings from conducting and managing research across different markets.
**đ Agenda:**
* **08:30 AM** â Doors open & Early networking (coffee & chats)
* **9:00 AM** â Kick-off Talks: International Research
* **10:00 AM** â Open Discussion
* **11:00 PM** â Closing & Final Networking
*
**𧞠Babysitting On-Demand:**
Research Tuesday has always been about making professional growth accessible. We especially want to support parents of small children, helping them stay connected with the industry and socialize without the usual barriers.
* **Interested in babysitting?** We are happy to arrange it on-site, but we need to know if there is interest.
* **Action:** Please let us know in the **comments section** no later than Monday noon if you would like to use this service and for how many children. We will decide whether to provide the service based on your feedback.
*
**đïž Important Details:**
* **Tickets:** The event is **free**, but space is strictly limited to **35 seats** to keep the discussion intimate.
* **Reservation:** Please book your spot early. If your plans change, please release your spot for others.
**We canât wait to see the old faces and welcome the new ones!**

The afternoon session starts at 2:00 pm. You're welcome to join both sessions or just one. Please come as close to 9:00 as you can if you come for the morning session. If you come to the afternoon session, we are usually back by about a quarter to 2:00.

This is for anyone wanting feedback! We mostly focus on novels and longer works, but short stories are welcome, as well. You can submit anything you want feedback on in any genre. Current word limit for submissions is 4,000 words. Send your submissions by 13:30 the Thursday before the meeting (or we have a grace period during which you can submit a lower limit of 2,500 words if you submit by midnight Thursday evening). Also, if you don't have time to read through everyone's submissions, still join the meeting! We know that busy schedules don't always make finding reading time easy.
To submit, use the Dropbox folder. If you don't have access to it, send sonyalakadosch@yahoo.com your e-mail address so I can add you.
Looking forward to seeing everyone there! My number in case of any confusion the day of the meeting is 737 118 530 - or on Facebook: Sonya Lano (https://www.facebook.com/sonya.lano)

After you're finished, put the file in the "Feedback" folder under the folder for the meeting date and then under the person the feedback is for (e.g. "For Sonya").
* The submissions folder will be replaced within a week after the meeting has taken place. Feedback will be deleted within 2 months after the meeting, so if you need it longer than that, make sure to copy it to your own disk.

In this talk, weâll take a tour beyond the Top 10 and explore some of the interesting, practical, and sometimes surprising things OWASP has created, with a focus on ideas and tools you can apply in real projects right away.

AI Reading Club: If Anyone Builds It, Everyone Dies
For our second meeting, weâll read and discuss the book by Eliezer Yudkowsky, "[If anyone builds it, everyone dies](https://www.penguin.co.uk/books/474267/if-anyone-builds-it-everyone-dies-by-soares-eliezer-yudkowsky-and-nate/9781847928924)".
No academic background is required, just a willingness to read, think, and share your thoughts. But please, read the text in advance :)
If you want a taste of the main premises, I recommend [this interview with the author](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKN0E3a2Yzs).
The session will be discussion-based, lightly moderated, and limited to a small group to allow for real conversation.
As [the first session on Claude's Constitution](https://www.meetup.com/ai-vs-philosophy-reading-club/events/313077823/) was very pleasant, I look forward to what the second one brings!

**Abstract**
Web Forms gave .NET developers a powerful abstraction for building reusable UI controls long before design systems were a thing. Web Components finally bring that same idea to the browser natively.
This session explores how the Web Forms mindset translates into Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, and HTML templates. Weâll examine how Web Components enable design systems that work across frameworks, how they differ from serverâdriven controls, and why theyâre becoming a foundational layer for modern UI. Whether youâre maintaining legacy apps or building greenfield projects, youâll leave with a practical understanding of how to apply familiar patterns in a modern, standardsâbased way.

We connect you with up to 30 Men or Women tennis partners close to your PLAYING REGION and skill level. This program is less competitive, no champions crowned, no league standings just dedicated tennis partners who want to meet up with you on the courts. Players will meet up to play a tennis match or just to hit around. Just go through the [Join Page](https://www.tenniscolumbus.com/partner-program) to enter this program.

ServiceNow's Got Talent
Builders, creators, architects, admins, consultants - come one, come all. This one's for you.
We're bringing a little friendly competition to the Columbus ServiceNow community while highlighting the cool things people have built on the platform.
Five presenters will take the stage to showcase something they've built, solved, designed, or imagined on the ServiceNow platform - and a panel of judges (plus YOU, our amazing audience) will score them live.
So basically, America's Got Talent but make it ServiceNow's Got Talent.
Bring a notepad if you'd like 'cause you'll definitely be learning something new.
Each presenter gets 10 minutes max to wow the crowd with:
âą A demo
âą A real-world business solution
âą A bold idea
âą A UX transformation
âą Or a creative use of the platform
Judging Criteria:
đ Business Value
đ Innovation
âš User Experience
This event is about celebrating ideas, sharing knowledge, and showing how ServiceNow can drive both business impact and meaningful user value.
Come learn. Come support. Come get inspired.
Refreshments and bites will be provided.
And maybe next time⊠youâll be on stage.
