Ängste, Empfindlichkeiten, unrealistische Vorstellungen vom Zusammenleben, Gefühle des Ungenügens, Eifersucht, ein niedriges Selbstwertgefühl und Selbstbehauptungs-vorstellungen können den Aufbau und die Aufrechterhaltung von stützenden Freundschaften stören. Solche Gefühle sind nicht angeboren, sondern sind in den ersten Lebensjahren entstanden und bestimmen die spontane Wahrnehmung und die Handlungsmöglichkeiten. Dies kann man verändern, wenn man sich und die anderen besser verstehen lernt. Viele sind falsch informiert und gehen davon aus, dass ein verbundenes Leben mit anderen Menschen einschränkend sein muss, weil viele so erzogen sind, dass man das eigenen Ich zurückstecken muss. Und andere eine stresshafte Belastung darstellen. Wie kann es also gehen, dass wir Menschen als soziale Wesen den anderen beglückend und aufbauend erleben können? Wie können wir am meisten uns selbst sein, wenn wir den anderen nicht als Gegner und Bedrohung erleben, sondern als ein Mit-mensch, der auch am liebsten in einer guten Verbindung sein will, mit dem wir uns gut abstimmen? Es ist sicherlich auch schön, jeweils am Morgen eine halbe Stunde früher zu kommen und miteinander zu reden und sich auf den Tag einzustimmen. Welcome cold lovers! We have been practising cold water plunges for over 4 years. We believe in the benefits of cold water exposure. The feeling you get after the swim is magnificent, it makes you feel alive. We have started this group to safely experience the cold water together. We motivate each other, do active warmup exercises, and also share our life stories with a warm coffee/tea afterwards. The event is every Sunday at 11:30, we meet at the Mythenquai Badi entrance no matter the weather. Take along: a large towel, comfortable bathing suit, flip-flops, and warm clothes (hat, gloves, etc). If you’re planning swimming out take along a bright swim buoy. The event is Free. Some will go less (especially those walking or walk/running), and some over-achieving fast runners will go further. • The '*Hare*', which changes each event (along with location), cleverly lays the trail (typically with flour marks) so that everyone reaches the end at the same time. • There is always a place to deposit your bag and sometimes a place to change. • **After Trail**, we group for \~20-40 minutes for drinks, snacks, and some fun. This '*Circle*' is typically outside, so leave something warm in your bag in winter (and bring a flashlight when it's dark). If you don't want to stand around drinking afterwards, you can head home. We occasionally all go to a restaurant afterwards. **Why bother leaving your warm & dry sofa?** If you enjoy getting outside, being around people, and doing something a bit different, you will probably enjoy hashing. Exercise is important, and this is probably the least boring way to get it. 'Hashing' and the idea of some physical activity to work up a thirst, have been around for almost 90 years and there are groups (*Hashes*) in most major cities. Broad St., Columbus 43215** WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor. Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner.
