Restorative Forest Experience - Seurasaari
Discover the restorative power of nature on a guided forest walk on the
island of Seurasaari. Through calm observation and gentle connection
with the forest atmosphere, slow down, unwind, and sharpen your
senses.
**IMPORTANT**: Spots are limited, please make sure to reserve yours! If you are not registered, you will be kindly asked to leave.
Step out of everyday busyness and into a more present, embodied
experience of nature. Practice selected ForestMind exercises and
include optional moments of shared reflection in a safe, supportive
space.
These gentle exercises invite you to open your senses, cultivate a
feeling of calm and refreshment, and practice being fully present in the
moment. Some invitations focus on noticing and kindly accepting your
own thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations.
The method, developed in Finland by Mrs. Sirpa Arvonen, combines
researched nature-based health effects with simple mind-skill practices
and is suitable for everyone, regardless of age, fitness level, or previous
experience. Leave the forest feeling grounded, refreshed, and more
connected to yourself and your surroundings.

*WHEN:* Thursday 11th of June, starting at 14.30 and ending around 17.30
*LOCATION:* Seurasaari Island – about 3,5 Km on designated forest trails
(easy access, paths available).

Board Games at Arkade (Thursday)
Pay the **5 € board gaming fee** to the bar at the counter when you arrive. You must be at least 18 years old to enter [Arkade](https://www.arkade.fi/). We play in English and the game rules are taught before starting play, unless everyone is already familiar with the game. No previous experience with board gaming required. Despite our RSVP numbers here on Meetup, we almost always have at least 20 people participating weekly.
The venue has a great board game library, the host and other players usually bring their own games too: our selection varies weekly. We're a very casual group so you're welcome to arrive early or late and join whatever game is starting up, there is no attendance tracking, or welcoming process.
The bar has alcoholic drinks, mocktails, and soft drinks available as well as some snack foods. They've been okay with people ordering food to the bar with meal delivery services.
If you are feeling sick, please stay home.
Picnic meetup!
One more final meetup for the season. This one is super casual. Come hang out, grab a seat, enjoy the summer evening, and chat about games, design, projects, or whatever’s on your mind.
No presentations, no schedule, no pressure. Just a relaxed end-of-season meetup with other game designers.

Social Walking Tour: The Midnight Walk
Welcome to our midsummer special!
For one summer night, we will do something different. We will take a relaxed social walk through the city center and southern waterfront, enjoying the quiet streets, harbor views, and the atmosphere of Helsinki around midsummer, when the sky glows at night.
We might take a couple of stops along the way and enjoy the summer night. No rush, just a calm walk, good company, and a very special time of year.
A couple of notes for safety and group coordination:

Join us for badminton and meet people from around the world! Everyone is welcome, whether you’re a beginner or already experienced.

Who can join?

Event is free, but please bring your rackets and indoor shoes, or you can borrow a racket from the hall for free if needed.
We are committed to making our events and activities accessible to those who need them most. Therefore, **individuals with a refugee background are welcome to attend free of charge without prior registration.** If you plan to join, simply send a message to Alaa to let us know you’re coming.
This approach is intentional. Many refugees and newcomers face practical, cultural, and psychological barriers that can make formal registration difficult or discouraging.
