Free Meditation & Yoga â just show up â we start at 19.00 on Thursdays
Hello there!
We'd like to welcome you to our FREE Sahaja Yoga meditation meetings hosted by Wolfgang, Hamid, Anil, Shantanu & friends which take place in Vienna â 7pm Thursdays.
With Sahaja Yoga Meditation we normally sit on chairs to achieve yoga, effortlessly & spontaneously. So there is no need for mats and no special clothing required.
We are all volunteers of a Charity association and have many years of experience in offering free Sahaja Yoga Meditation classes.
All across the globe, many are seeking new sources of energy. Meanwhile, the most transformative energy of all is hiding in plain sight, within us. It's natural, sustainable, and infinitely renewable. It's called inner kundalini energy. And everyone already has it â everyone!. It is often likened to an inner feminine or motherly energy which automatically knows about us and what is needed to help us restore balance and harmony within our subtle being. It works spontaneously, effortlessly, organically and cannot be paid for.
The classes are designed to help those attending get into a genuine meditative state, which can be felt tangibly. It is quite effortless and spontaneous.
The free classes feature introductory talks, video's, practical workshops and general question and answer opportunities, making them perfect for seekers trying to establish a state of yoga, and they are available across Vienna most evenings and throughout Austria.
The idea is that you don't do yoga - you Achieve Yoga!
Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a simple, time-honored technique. It helps those who enjoy it, reduce stress and increase wellness and health holistically. It brings better focus and helps people become more centered and better balanced. Anyone can do it.
Founded by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a world wide movement for peace and self awakening.
All the meetings and classes are free of any charge. Each week we go through simple meditation techniques, often with guided meditations to help reduce stress and achieve the peace of true meditation.
We share tips on how to help stay in balance during the day and how to meditate at home. The meditation is based on connecting with the inner chakras (energy centres) and balancing the subtle body.
The tradition and aims of meditation are explained which in essence is to be in the present with no mental activity or thoughts about the past or the future.
Occasionally there are 1 day retreats to help those interested, deepen their individual experience and hear advice and tips from those who have been practicing for some time. Itâs ultimately all about getting into âthoughtless awarenessâ, a natural state of being.
10 Reasons to try-out Sahaja Yoga Meditation in Vienna in 2015
Itâs easy.
You donât have to spend years living in the mountains to achieve enlightenment. You donât have to give up anything or spend weeks in silence. You donât have to learn mantras or wear special clothes or even try to clear my mind. The meditation simply happens spontaneously. The classes are easy and fun, and as long as you keep up your daily ten minutes of meditation you find you are able to achieve a deep and peaceful meditation on a regular basis.
Itâs free.
You donât pay for your meditation. There are no catches, and there are no hidden expenses. If you missed attending classes one week, it doesnât matter. You just picked up the classes again when you could manage it. It is simply the generosity of spirit of other Sahaja Yoga meditation practitioners that allows Sahaja Yoga to be taught to whomever desires it, at no cost.
You can see results.
You feel relaxed and you feel a deep sense of calm. Now you can also feel your chakras (energy centres) and through the meditation techniques learnt along the way you can understand the vibrations of your own energy centres. If you feel unwell you meditate and use the techniques youâve learnt to heal your chakras, and you can then feel the centres clearing, and as a consequence your health improves.
Itâs all-inclusive.
All the major religions and their core teachings are acknowledged and respected in Sahaja Yoga. No oneâs spiritual journey is right or wrong. And through meditation the wisdom of all the great gurus and saints is easily revealed and understood. In fact, youâll find that since youâve been meditating youâll come to understand and appreciate the teachings of great teachers such as Lao Tse, Buddha and Mohammed.
Youâre your own boss.
You meditate and introspect at your own pace. You donât have to keep up with others, or feel pressured into doing things youâre not comfortable with. You are your own teacher, your own guru, your own master. This technique of meditation empowers you and enables you to help yourself. You donât have to rely on anybody else. Of course, there are many people who practice Sahaja Yoga Meditation who can teach you a great deal about the yoga & meditation and its various techniques. However, all that you need is ultimately within you.
Itâs everywhere.
Sahaja Yoga is practiced in almost every country in the world. So, no matter where you travel you can always locate a local Sahaja Yoga Meditation programme that you can attend. Whenever you get the chance, and no matter where you are, You try to link up with other Sahaja Yoga practitioners and enjoy a collective meditation. (Meditating with others is a much deeper and more powerful experience than meditating alone.)
Itâs portable.
You donât need to take anything with you to meditate: no mats, no potions, no special clothing or books. You can meditate anywhere â in a quiet room or on a noisy bus; at the beach or watching a movie. Thoughtless awareness (the state of meditation) is easy to achieve if you keep meditating daily, and it can be achieved in almost any situation.
It makes sense.
Everything youâll learn will make sense. There is a lot of common sense in Sahaja Yogameditation, and even though not everything was known to you (for example, the chakras and their respective qualities), once you have a chance to learn more about the meditation, it feels very natural and comfortable.
Everybody does it.
When you begin a hobby or join a new group, you often find that there are particular types of people who are in the group with you. For example, some groups attract younger people, others older folk; some groups have a lot of people who are wealthy, or people who live in a certain part of town. In Sahaja Yoga you will find people from every walk of life, from every demographic â male and female, young and old, rich and poor, every shape, size and colour, with varying interests, languages and beliefs. You donât have to be a certain type of person to do Sahaja Yoga meditation. It is one of those rarities: something for everybody.
You feel good.
Without fail, every time you sit down to meditate you feel better. Whether you manage to have a deep meditation or not makes no difference, and as a consequence your family and friends are reaping the benefits.
So there you have it......ten reasons......

Photography Workshop for Beginners | Seeing the Subject & Controlling the Image
Seeing the Subject & Controlling the Image
**Extended Photography Workshop**
Date: Saturday, 07 March (07.03.2026)
Start: 14:00
Duration: approx. 4 hours
Location\*\*:\*\* Vienna (exact meeting point shared after booking)
This workshop is created for **early-stage photographers and people who are just starting out**.
I have designed it as a **kickstart to your photography journey**, helping you build solid foundations early on so you donât hit a creative plateau after learning only classic rules of photography.
The workshop is beginner-friendly and assumes **no deep technical knowledge**. At the same time starting with basics, we will be building foundation that will help you become even better than some of the professionals.
Weâll start with the fundamentals of exposure and camera control, then move into composition and subject-focused photography. The goal is not just to know *how* to set your camera, but to understand **why you make certain choices** and how they support the image.
Many beginners shoot from where they stand, reacting to scenes instead of observing them. This workshop helps you slow down, move with intention, and decide what the photograph is actually about before pressing the shutter.
***
##### What this workshop focuses on
* Camera basics & exposure
How your camera sensor works, what exposure really is, and how aperture, shutter speed, and ISO affect the image.
Weâll also talk about why underexposing slightly is often a deliberate choice.
* Composition fundamentals
Classic compositional rules, how to apply them simply, and how to avoid forcing them into every image.
* Finding the subject
Learning to recognise what the photo is about â even in complex or messy scenes.
* Subject-focused photography
How to move, change perspective, how to know what actually you photograph and how to do it.
* Subject separation
Using depth, light, contrast, and framing to make the subject stand out.
* Seeing before shooting
Developing the habit of observing becoming more aware and more deliberate with your photography choice.
***
### This workshop is for you ifâŠ
* youâre new to photography or still unsure about camera settings
* you want a strong foundation for visual arts.
* you feel your photos lack focus or intention
* you want to avoid common beginner mistakes early on
### This workshop is not for you ifâŠ
* youâre already confident with exposure and subject-driven images
* youâre mainly looking for advanced lighting or post-processing techniques
* you want quick tricks instead of understanding photography.
Learning photography is like learning a language, I do not teach you how to order/photograph a coffee cup but give you understanding how to shoot/say anything, yet learning is a longer process and you will need more practice later to master it.
With this course I will give you a strong base and it prepares you for the **Light** and **Storytelling** workshops later on.

Shoot Vienna: Prater

The workshop features an introductory presentation on street photography of approx. 15mins, along with tips along the way from a photographer featured by The Guardian, BBC and Time Out đž
It's also a great opportunity to meet with other photographers, and a chance to get some tips on street photography along the way, for those who are interested in the medium.
All are welcome - whether you're a tourist or a local.
All events take place in English.
To bring with you on the day:
* Mobile phone (to contact me if you get lost!)

Pause. Sense. Breathe. Return to yourself.
Due to the strong interest and warm response to the first workshop, this session is returning. In a world of speed, multitasking, and constant stimulation, true presence becomes a rare and powerful skill. This interactive workshop offers a space to slow down, reconnect with your body, and understand how mindfulness and meditation
transforms your brain, your communication, and your moment-to-moment experience.
Through a blend of neuroscience, mindfulness tools, introspection, pair- and group activities, we explore how the brain, body, and nervous system shape the way we
feel, interact, and respond. Youâll learn how posture, breath, emotional signals, and internal narratives influence communication â and how mindful presence can shift
everything.
Youâll explore:
â The neuroscience of mindfulness, meditation and self-awareness.
â How feelings, needs, and body sensations shape your relationships.
â How to meet difficult emotions with curiosity and compassion.
â How to practice RAIN as a gentle, structured process.
â How Metta meditation softens the heart and supports resilience.
â How body language influences communication and nervous system safety.
â How breath and movements bring you back into the present moment.
Ideal for anyone wanting to live and communicate with more clarity, intention, and authenticity â in body, mind, and heart.
Please bring paper and a pen.
Cash donation is appreciated.
One third of the collected donations will be shared with the café, supporting this community space.
