Mivel a címkék nagyon fontosak az akadálymentesség szempontjából, ezért kiemelt szerepet kapnak WCAG szabványban is. A WCAG számos kritériuma foglalkozik azzal, hogy a címkézési folyamat mely aspektusai okozhatnak potenciális akadályokat.
