A laid-back lunchtime of friendly chess in the charming surroundings of Russell Square, Bloomsbury (or in The Atrium Cafe of The Imperial Hotel across the road, if it rains). Whether you're new in town and looking to meet new people, craving some social games, or live/work/study nearby, all are welcome. Chess sets are available to borrow, and there are optional food/drinks from the cafe next to the chess tables. Please don't bring outside food/drinks (other than water), and buy something if you use a cafe table (no need when using the chess tables, which have boards printed on them). This will be a unhosted event - if you're the first to arrive, please borrow a chess set from the cafe, set it up at one of the chess tables, and wait for others to arrive. Feel free to write in the event to confirm you're going and encourage others to come along. Most of those attending are from other social media groups, so numbers are usually higher than they appear here. Have fun! :)

London ChessFest + Pub Social Join us for a day out at London ChessFest in Trafalgar Square! ChessFest is the UK’s largest free chess festival, bringing together more than 20,000 chess enthusiasts for a fun, friendly day of chess in the heart of London.
