Language Exchange at the Big Beer Company (Clausen)
Language Exchange at the Big Beer Company (Clausen)
This is a language exchange event for those who want to learn or practice French, German, English, Luxembourgish or any other language you find an interlocutor for. Especially in Luxembourg, speaking multiple languages is an essential skill. The journey of learning a language is a discovery road in which it is great to meet advantaged/native speakers and language learners with who you can practice your listening and speaking skills. All levels are welcome, and you’re also welcome for a drink and a chat of course. !!! AfterExchange-Apero !!! Speaking a new language can be hard, so most weeks the attendees end up going to another bar afterwards to have a beer and a bite to unwind. Follow one of the organizers, to the "hottest bars in town". ;) · Please sit with a group of your preferred language exchange, you will recognize them by the language signs/windchimes · By arriving to this event you agree that the organizers cannot be held liable in case any of the participants violate the current regulations · Feel free to post a message in the group if you are looking for an interlocutor for a language other than French, English or German. (Most of the times we also have Luxembourgish). See you Saturday!

Join us for a special Christmas Fast Friending evening - It’s relaxed, fun, and designed to help you meet wonderful new people without any of the awkwardness. Come share the festive cheer, feel the warmth of new friendships, and step into the season with a fuller heart. **You will need to buy a ticket for attending -** [https://lux20thdec.eventbrite.co.uk](https://lux20thdec.eventbrite.co.uk) \*You can use any debit or credit card to purchase your ticket at PayPal checkout. It will ask you for your email address but that is only to send you a receipt. You do not need a PayPal account. TICKETS:- Early Bird - €5 / person Regular Ticket - €10 / person Cash at meetup: If you do not purchase a ticket in advance then you can pay Shye cash of €15 when you attend. **Here’s how our Fast Friending works:-** \- We will meet at 7\.00 and have time to get settle down and get a drink\. \- From about 7\.30 to 8\.30 we will run the fast friending system\. Half of the group \(mixed gender\) will stay in a fixed place and the other half of the group \(mixed gender\) will be asked to rotate\. During these intervals\, each pair of people will get the opportunity to talk to each other\. \- Shye will be hosting the evening and she will organize the fast friending process\. She will indicate when you should move to the next person\. \- From 8\.30 onwards we will stop the system and people will have to chance go chat and interact with those they have met as well as others\. If you are a bit shy or anxious then please come early. Shye will help you meet other members in a small group and help you settle down and get comfortable. All attendees are also welcome to bring a lady friend along with them for free. This will make it a lot less stressful for you as you will always have your friend alongside. \- We are not a close knit tight group\. Our evenings are warm and comfortable for members attending for the first time and those coming alone\. You will not feel alone\! \- We have many groups in this city\. Members of our other groups who RSVP are included as guests of the organisers in order to give you an indication of expected people\. \- This evening is for ladies and gents in the 25 to 45 age group\. While some will be at the younger end of this range there will also be others at the other end of the range and lots in\-between\! You will naturally gel with others of your own age range and so you will always find many attendees who fit your range\. \- We are not a dating group\. Our events are not organised to manage your dating life\. Our group is created to help ladies and gents meet other like minded ladies and gents\. Please do not attend our event if a perfect gender balance is important for your enjoyment of our meet\-up\. Why do we have tickets? 1. Cover our costs - Our host is compensated for their time and work. We also pay meetup and have dedicated staff to manage our events, hosts, venues and communication. 2. Group Safety - By securing your ticket we have a record and you contribute to a well organized evening where everyone is more committed and better behaved. 3. 🍷🎄 Esch Christmas Market from Schifflange (14km or less) 🍷🎄(no loop)
🍷🎄 Esch Christmas Market from Schifflange (14km or less) 🍷🎄(no loop)
Hello Friends! The last hike before Christmas will take us to the south of our country. As part of the former mining area, we will see some remains from that era in the forest, like posts from cable cars for iron ore transport. We will start in Schifflange at the train station and find our way to the "Nature Reserve Brucherbierg-Lalléngerbierg". We will take a path with a great view over the valley before we cross over a road into the forest that will finally take us to Esch. We will take a few short breaks to have a sip of water, and after 8 km, we do a short Glühwein break, in the "Maison Rosati", a gem in the forest for breaks like this. The break will be no longer than 20 minutes because we need to continue towards the final Bratwurst destination! In case the weather is bad, we're awfully tired, or someone forgot to bring Glühwein, we can shorten the hike to anything like 9, 10, or 12km, because the house is located at the furthest point and we can skip it (and the break) to get earlier to our Gromperekichelcher! **Meeting Point:** We will meet at the Schifflange train station and start the hike shortly after the train arrives. https://maps.app.goo.gl/6nZ4fqoTXSUmtsnw8 **Public Transport:** * You can take Train RB 6711 from Luxembourg "Gare Centrale", leaving at 11:00 towards "Rodange". The train will arrive in Schifflange at 11:23 * Trains back to Luxembourg go every 30 minutes, 2 minutes after the full or half hour; these trains will also get you back to your car in Schifflange **Car Pool:** For those who come from anywhere else but the city, maybe you can offer, or you need a seat in a car, please use the carpool: https://groupcarpool.com/t/k4s0be Looking forward to hiking with you! Jens.

Free In-person Meeting: Unwanted Emotions & Loneliness, How to Get Over Them
Free In-person Meeting: Unwanted Emotions & Loneliness, How to Get Over Them
This is an in-person meeting. Did you know that unwanted emotions like loneliness, sadness, hopelessness, anger, fear, anxiety, or feelings of irritation don’t just fall on you for no reason. They are not random occurrences that simply happen to people's minds. They are definitely not chemical imbalance in your brain due to some nebulous chemical reactions by chance. Your negative emotions are the symptoms of the painful experiences that you have which are not healed, and which are still affecting you. The effects of these painful experiences are exacerbated by the pressures or difficulties of the other problems in your life. For instance, let's say you are already carrying a huge load on your back, then you cannot take on much more, but, let's say something else happens to you, such as the difficulties from the Pandemic, then the resultant combined weight on you can take you over the edge, kind of like the straw that break the camel's back. When this happens, people's attention usually goes to the straw that was added, but actually the majority of the weight had come from the huge load that were already there, holding a person down and causing a person issues. So how do you remove the huge load that was already there? How do you lighten them up? Is it possible to get rid of them? That is what this meeting will be all about. Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life. Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to this local event. We look forward to seeing you there. This group is created by the Dianetics and Scientology Life Improvement Center of Central Ohio.

Contra dance with Big Scioty on Jan 3 - First Congregational Church
Contra dance with Big Scioty on Jan 3 - First Congregational Church
**Caller: Gaye Fifer** **Band: Hot Coffee Breakdown** **Big Scioty Contra Dance** **temporarily returning to our long ago location for Jan-March - First Congregational Church, 444 E. Broad St., Columbus 43215** WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor. Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner. Cost is $10.00 adults, $5.00 ages 12-26. Under 12 free. Free parking in church lot. For more information contact me or check out our website: [www.bigscioty.com](http://www.bigscioty.com/) Please bring your own refillable water bottle. Snacks to share are always welcome!
