A különbségek időnként polgárháborús konfliktusokba torkollnak, amelyek tovább mélyítik a bizalmatlanságot és a sérelmeket – gyakran nemzedékeken át. A történelem azonban ritka ellenpéldákat is kínál: olyan pillanatokat, amikor a gyűlölet és a megosztottság ördögi köre nem sodródott tovább az erőszak irányába, hanem a megbékélés felé fordult. Ezen az alkalmon az Ubuntu filozófiáját vizsgáljuk meg – azt az afrikai etikai szemléletet, amely olyan vezetők gondolkodását formálta, mint Nelson Mandela és Desmond Tutu.
